It’s Night Two of the SCI! The original field of 16 was cut down to 8 last night and we’ve got movements that happened earlier today at ACTION Futures as well! Dylan Hales & Jumpin’ Johnny Mosely are on commentary! Scott Hensley is your announcer! Let’s gooooo!

Match 1: Robert & The Martyrs (Robert Martyr, Lobo Okami & Proc Johnston) vs Rhinestone Cowboys (Ashton Starr, Noah Hossman & 1 Called Manders)

They’re calling this a “special attraction” match and WOW, I am intrigued. Hoss beat Proc and Lobo earlier at Futures. Martyr, Manders & Martyr are we’re knocked out of the first round of the SCI last night! Manders doubled up on by Proc and Lobo but he blasts them both with a shoulder tackle. Hossman with a back suplex to Lobo! He traps Martyr and headbutts the chest and gives him a toss. Proc finally gets over on Noah and hits a huge spine buster to take control. Lobo leveling Hoss with chops. Martyr with a top rope leg drop after an Okami body attack for two. Ashton finally gets the tag and flies in! Winning the strikes exchange with Martyr but gets rocked with a German. Okami goes for a Vader bomb but gets pushed off. Double lariat from Manders/Hossman takes Proc’s head off and a Ashton Starrsault wins the opener for the Cowboys!

Match 2: “The Mat Scientist” Damyan Tangra vs Kevin Ku (SCI 2nd Round)

Damyan got a HUGE upset on Daniel Makabe yesterday. Kevin Ku had a war with his VIF partner Dominic Garrini last night but ALSO wrestled earlier today at Futures! Ku looking pretty taped up. What condition is Ku in for this match? He starts throwing heavy kicks and wrenches at the arm of Tangra early. Tangra catches him running and faceplants Ku into the buckles! Butterfly suplex and Ku is holding that neck. Ku firing up but Tangra changes his assault to the back of the neck. Ku weathers it…regal plex for two! Tangra catches Ku out of the air….dropped to a STF! Ku out, high knee reversal drops Damyan and Ku has a moment to catch his breath. Tangra catches Ku comes in, twisting Michanoku driver! Ku tries the fisherman’s buster…Tangra rolls it up. Ku out and snatches Tangra up and drills him with a brain buster to get the win! Hot damn. Ku punches his ticket to the finals but he has a large hill to climb in a 4-way elimination final later.

Match 3: Orion Bishop vs “Any Style” Adam Priest

Orion Bishop is described by Hales as “a refrigerator with legs”. Adam Priest ambushes him as her comes into the room. He tries to bring a chair into the fray but Bishop punches it through his face. Priest tossed across the ring and takes him for a ride. Priest flies and ends up hung by his feet from the second rope hanging precariously above the floor. Priest up and trying the ddt but Bishop just tosses him over the top. Priest goes to the eye, but Bishop keeps coming. Belly to belly suplex to the floor! Priest dodges and Bishop eats post. Ddt to the floor! Bishop is still coming! Bishop eats an Alabama jam, instant kickout! Orion with an F5! He takes Priest  up to the top…Priest floats over and DDT’s him off the ropes. Another ddt back on the mat finishes the job. This was a sprint but this was super entertaining. Awesome job.

Match 4: “Number One” Jaden Newman vs “The Young GOAT” Myron Reed

“This is MY town!” Yells Newman. Stand-off and a quick roll up from Jaden. Jade with the takedown and offers a hand up. Is he already in Myron’s head? Newman hanging with Myron’s flippy attempts to take control. Reed misses a dive to the floor and Jaden stays on top of him and suicides him into the chairs! Reed is nursing his ankle and Jaden blasts a shot to the leg. Myron clearly suffering with every landing. Myron with a dive over the top, Jaden dropped but Myron eats chairs. High cross body from Reed! Kick out! Jaden trying to pick the ankle as the crowd is very split between them. Myron with a big boot! Enziguri! Jaden is punch drunk but snags a snap powerslam! Meteora to the back of the head!!! Myron drilled but kicks out! Reed reverses a falcon arrow to a stunner! Myron off the ropes but his ankle gives out again, Jaden stacks a pin and Myron is stuck down for the three!

Match 5: Masha Slamovich vs Billie Starkz

Billie is clearly hurting after her war with Robert Martyr last night. Masha is coming right at Space Jesus. Grabbing her hair and whipping her down to unload on that back. Billie manages to get Masha outside and goes for a suicide dive, Masha blasts her in the head with a chair. Oh noooooo. Starkz cries in pain as Masha suplexes her to the floor. Masha wrenching at the back of Starkz and is just punishing a wounded Billie. Masha trying a butterfly lock on the buckles but Billie tosses her back. Starkz unloading the clip! She tries the gory bomb but her back says NOPE. Masha sent to the floor again and the suicide dive hits! Swanton connects but Billie is clearly taking damage. Masha gets the ropes. Flurry of head kicks and a German! Billie’s out! Out of the blue, Starkz hits the gory bomb but she can’t get to the pin. Masha with a Yoshi Tonic?!? Billie kicks out somehow! Trading pin attempts! Masha starched with a kick! Billie almost gets the rollup! Masha clubs her hard but Billie rolls over at two! More pin attempts! Billie with a jackknife pin and Masha can’t escape!!! Billie wins!!!

Winner: Billie Starkz

Match 6: The Scenic City Scramble - Suge D vs Merrik Donovan vs Cole Radrick vs Rico Gonzalez vs Billy Tipton vs Landon Hale

The winner of this scramble is the first entrant in next year’s SCI! Hales says Suge isn’t allowed in the locker room so he comes in from the crowd, as he does. Suge is none too happy to see Merrik though. It’s weird that Radrick has a spot in this scramble since he was in this year’s tournament. Rico gets a great pop from the crowd, after his showing at Futures in the finals. Tipton is another one who made sense to have in the Futures when it was announced but has definitely proved he’s due a bigger profile in the year to come. Landon Hale had an absolute banger with Eli Knight earlier today. Merrik comes right in and knocks Suge’s block off. Down to Raddy and Rico in the ring, Rico gives Daddy a little dance and sway. Cole doesn’t love that and decks him in the face. Suge tries to get involved but He’s quickly ejected. Landon and Tipton take the stage and they also yeet Suge out of the ring. Tipton with a slingshot dropkick sends Hale flying. Suge getting in the face of Ref Gina. Merrik has her back. Big dive party and everyone struggles back to the ring. Suge starting to throw chops to everyone and they all chop him back, even Ref Gina! The crowd pops hard for Gina there. Rico throwing kicks but Raddy with a spinning hook kick that just destroys Rico. Cole is throwing five-inch punches! Everyone’s down! Is Tipton dead?!? Suge in and hits a brain buster. Merrik stops Suge with a snap dragon! Hale with a powerbomb to Donovan! Rico tornado DDT! Tipton catches Rico…off to the buckles…gutwrench superplex! Suge almost steals the rollup! Tipton is mad…Merrik is right there! Donovan forced into a Tipton ddt! Tipton with a spine buster to Suge! Tipton tries emerald flosion, Suge rakes the eyes, corkscrew neckbreaker spikes Tipton and SUGE D PUNCHES HIS TICKET TO NEXT YEAR’S SCI!

Winner: Suge D

Suge needs to hear Scott say it over and over. The winner of the match is Suge D.

Match 7: “The Bone Collector” Dominic Garrini vs “The Wrestling Genius” Daniel Makabe 

Excuse me, what? Yes I will take this match please and thank you. Makabe and Dom test each other back and forth on the mat and in the standup. No clear advantage but they are just rocking each other. Makabe grabs a double leg and rains HEADBUTTS! Dom tries the triangle he won with at Futures but Makabe has an answer this time. Dom with a piledriver but can’t finish it. He tries dropping shots in the triangle but Makabe is out. Trading punches, Dom braces for a shot and Makabe hits the fastball punch and Dom is KO’d. Makabe’s draping cover is elementary at this point. Makabe and Dom matches are stuff I love so it was great to see them dance together.

Winner: Daniel Makabe

Makabe on the mic and mentions that he got some rough news and needs some spinal rehab. He not saying he’s RETURING but Makabe probably only has a few matches left. He thanks everyone JUST IN CASE this is his last match in the Southeast. VIF hugs their friend as he symbolically leaves his scarf in the center of the ring. Thank you, Makabe. 

Looks like we’re having some kind of delay coming back from intermission…

Match 8: AC Mack(c) vs “Starboy” BK Westbrook (for the IWTV championship)

Westbrook won the ACTION Futures tournament earlier in the day, earning him this title opportunity! Westbrook ambushes Mack at the bell and holds the IWTV belt high! Mack is looking hurt but reverses to a cross body and gets his entrance gear off. Mack in control but Westbrook bounces him off the apron. Hales points out that Acegawd Arik Royal may have given BK pointers, being a trainer and tag partner. Sunset flip from the side for two. Mack almost hits the Mack 10, BK back drops out of it. BK with a good knee but the champ hits his flying clothesline. BK eats a pair of dives into the chairs. Did Soddy Daisy high school ask for these chairs to be destroyed so they can get replacements? BK with a sliced bread! Mack rolls out to save the pin. Shooting star knees to Mack! The champ kicks out! Westbrook springboards in. Mack dodges and hits Mack 10 for the win! Westbrook WENT FOR IT but Mack stands tall again!

Winner: AC Mack

Tank is here to wrestle Jax Dane. Dane is out here to confront him but says that Tank doesn’t deserve to wrestle him and these people at his alma mater don’t deserve to see that match. He says Tank has to earn it…so he has a mystery opponent for him. If Tank wins, he’ll fight him the next time Scenic City comes to Soddy Daisy. Who is it?

Match 9: Tank (w/ The Reverend) vs Hoodfoot No DQ match)

Hoodfoot comes running in! Dane is trying to distract the the ref and Hoodfoot chops out of the knee to grind the behemoth down on the rope. Fighting into the bleachers! They’re high up in the balcony, trading headbutts! Hoodfoot tumbles down several rows of bleacher. Bar fight punches back and forth. Tank rocks him and sends him down the rest of the way. Hoodfoot rocking Tank with chops and forearms across a chair. Tank back up and clubbing the chest, uranage off the apron, the back of Hoodfoot’s head cracks the chair and the air comes out of the room. Tank grabs a door and a lighttube…Scott Hensley GRABS THAT TUBE because noooooooooooope, not here. Back in the ring, Tank tackles Hoodfoot AND the ref through the door. Jax Dane hits the ring and clotheslines Tank before putting on his shades and walking off. Hoodfoot crawls over….Tank up before one! Hoodfoot wants another door! Tank eating door shots…but he’s against the new door…Tank hits a saito through the door and gets the three!

Winner: Tank

Tank wants his match with Jax Dane NOW. Dane up on the apron but of course he backs down and walks off. Maybe next year. 

Main Event: Kevin Ku vs Adam Priest vs Jaden Newman vs Billie Starkz (SCI Tournament Finals 4-way Elimination Match)

Everyone in this match is coming off of some major wars in the past week. Priest and Jaden might be in the best shape for this final overall. It’s worth noting that this is an elimination 4-way but there’s tagging. Starkz and Ku start this off tentatively. Priest tries a cheap shot but Billie decks him off the apron. Priest tags in with a backbreaker, laser focused on her obvious weakness. Ku in and lays into a half crab. Double stomp to the spine! Do Ku and Lroest want to get this match down to them and have a round 2 from last Monday? Jaden tags into put a stop to that. Priest turns that around and we’ve kind of devolved into a tag match? Jaden with a big boot to Priest for two! Kitchen Sink! Ku tags in quick and they trade hard slaps to the face. Jaden dives out to the front row. Billie Germans Ku but he’s up with a regal plex. Billie with a gory bomb and hook kick to Ku! Billie gets the pin to eliminate Ku! Priest slides in and plants Billie with a ddt! Billies eliminated right away! It’s down to Priest and Jaden! Trading hard shots! Priest with a heavy uppercut but Jaden slips the ddt. Priest ropes Jaden back in and chop blocks. He chokes Jaden with his wrist tape. Priest slams Newman’s legs into the ropes. Stomp the knee. Priest is on a mission. Figure four dead center! Jaden is screaming and trying to flip it….he makes the rope! Priest tries again but Jaden shoves him out of the ring! Suicide dive! Slingshot flatliner! Jaden flies! Meteora but his knees are shot! He wants the Ricola bomb…Proest with an Alabama slam! Alabama jam….Jaden picks the leg out of it and wraps up the hangman’s clutch! Priest almost escapes but Jaden rains blows, reapplies and Adam Priest taps out!!! Huge pop for the hometown hero to take the trophy!

AC Mack is out here to present the SCI Trophy! Jaden has been calling himself the uncrowned king city of the Scenic City. Welcome to your throne, king! “You deserve it” chants from the crowd who surround the ring and pound the mat for Newman. “This isn’t my trophy, this is OURS” he says to his people.
