Do you know why there was no IC title match at Summerslam? Not enough build for a match or are they saving Gunther for bigger things?
Vince McMahon didn't choose to book one. I think that will change with HHH in charge. He is a big fan of Gunther.
I remember in the first couple of years that you used to say that all of the wrestlers said nothing but good things to you about AEW and how it was run. Is that still the case?
I have definitely heard more complaints from people than I did when the company first started. For the first year or two, I hardly ever, if ever, heard a bad word from anyone. I have heard more complaints of late, especially about the booking/use of talents. I think part of it is the natural progression of a company and the rest is that the booking has been subpar for the last few months.
I am trying to think of the least hated wrestler in history, and it seems that no matter who you ask, Mick Foley is always spoken highly of. Would you agree?
Yep, Foley was very well liked. So was Owen Hart. Who was the least hated? I can't say for sure.
No Vinnie Mac. New creative side. Seems to be more freedom for talent. Do you see MJF coming in soon?
I can't say since I don't know what his contract status is. If he did re-sign with AEW it won’t be for a while. But in any case, with Vince gone if he does come in to WWE I think he will have every chance to get way over. I don't think he would have gotten the same chance with Vince booking.
I admire that you do not report about wrestler's personal lives unless it affects a story or storyline. How much do you know about wrestlers personal lives that you don't report?
I don't really measure it. But yes, I have always stayed away from reporting things from wrestlers' private lives that have no affect on their work. If they want to tell the world, they can.
