MOST UNDERRATED TALENT OF THE 1990S, FAVORITE LIVE WRESTLING VENUES, VINCE AS A WRESTLEMANIA CELEB? AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2022-08-04 10:00:00

Out of all the talents in the 1990s, who do you think was most underrated?

I think that with the exception of fans who saw him in ECW in 1995-1996, 2 Cold Scorpio was probably extremely underrated by fans as he was incredibly athletic and talented but was never given a complete, consistent push as a singles star.

Most underrated tag team?

I know a lot of people will probably scoff at this but I always felt Power and Glory deserved a lot more praise for their work at the time in the early 1990s.

Who were the Conqustadores?

Jose Luis Rivera and Jose Estrada.

Does WWE ever bring Vince McMahon back as a Wrestlemania celebrity?

I don't see that happening anytime in the future.

What were your all time favorite live event venues?

In order, the 2300 Arena, the original version of the current Madison Square Garden, The Grand Ballroom in the Manhattan Center, The Hammerstein Ballroom, Atlanta's Center Stage, The Boutwell Auditorium, The NYWC Sportatorium, The Elks Lodge in Queens, NY, Chicago's Allstate Arena and the dearly departed Hara Arena in Dayton.  I also have extreme fond memories of the Charity Hall in Bayonne, NY and the old Lowest East Side and LIWF Doghouse wrestling schools.

Most overrated live venue?

I think The Staples Center for me.  I've been there several times and I have never felt much of an atmosphere there compared to some of the other venues I've mentioned.

Venues you wish you could visit?

Mostly ones that no longer exist as wrestling venues today- The Mid-South Coliseum, The Cow Palace, Jack Witschi's Sports Arena, Sunnyside Gardens.  Places like that.  I still have yet to get to the Greensboro Coliseum and Charlotte's Bojangles Arena, so I guess those would be the highest on my list of wants.
