YOSHI-HASHI, Toru Yano and Hirooki Goto vs. Dick Togo, SHO and EVIL
Yano hits a double low blow on SHO and Togo. Yano rolls up Togo for a pin.
Royce Isaacs and Tom Lawlor vs. Chase Owens and KENTA
Owens hits two C-Triggers to Isaacs’ face. Owens hits a Package Piledriver.
Owens pins Isaacs.
BUSHI and Shingo Takagi vs. Bad Dude Tito and JONAH
Tito hits a tope suicida on to Takagi sending him into the guardrail.
JONAH lays out BUSHI with a body tackle and follows with a Black Forest Bomb.
JONAH pins BUSHI.
Impressive win by JONAH and Tito over Los Ingobernales de Japon. JONAH looked like the monster that he is.
TAKA Michinoku, Zack Sabre Jr. and Lance Archer vs. Aaron Henare, Great O-Khan and Will Ospreay
ZSJ was selling his ribs when he walked to the ring. Aaron Henare was selling his ankle.
Good wrestling between Ospreay and ZSJ to start, until Ospreay hit a shoulder tackle to ZSJ’s ribs into the United Empire corner. Henare attacked ZSJ going after his leg and ankle. A brawl breaks out. Henare pulls ZSJ to the floor and tries to snap his ankle in the guardrail. The cameras cannot capture all the chaos.
TAKA got caught in Henare’s Ultima. Suzuki-Gun tried to make the save but United Empire held them back.
TAKA taps out.
The United Empire are having fun matches in these opening tag matches. Henare is getting a big push. Lance Archer back with Suzuki-Gun is awesome. Archer was rusty at the start of the G1 tournament, but he is getting back into the New Japan groove. The potential for future possible matches is exciting.
David Finlay, Tama Tonga, with Jado, and Kazuchika Okada vs. Gedo, Juice Robinson and Jay White
Tama hits a Gun Stun on Gedo.
Tama pins Gedo.
G1 Climax 32 Matches:
D Block: El Phantasmo vs. Yujiro Takahashi, with Pieter
Yujiro offers Pieter to ELP if Yujiro can get the win and the 2 points. ELP accepts and gives Yujiro the Two Sweet Salute. ELP tells Pieter to come to his corner of the ring. He asks for a kiss and she kisses him on the cheek.
(Note: This may seem inappropriate in this current climate in the wrestling world. However, this is Yujiro’s gimmick and character.)
ELP shakes Yujiro’s hand and he lies on the mat. Yujiro goes for a pin. ELP grabs him in a crucifix pin. Two count. Yujiro shoves ELP. ELP rolls him into a school boy pin. Two count. ELP with a back slide. Two count. ELP hangs Yujiro on the Tree of Woe and hits two drop kicks. Yujiro goes to the floor. ELP hits an Asai Moonsault. He throws Yujiro back in the ring. ELP climbs the middle of the ropes and hits a flipping senton off the top rope.
ELP kicks Yujiro in the head and goes to the top rope. He blows kisses to Pieter which give Yujiro time to push him off the top rope. Yujiro hits Pimp Juice on the floor. ELP is dazed and is almost counted out. Yujiro hits a big boot in the face and slows the pace. ELP comes back with a running elbow and another elbow off the ropes. ELP goes for Sudden Death, but Yujiro blocks it and hits a reverse DDT. Yujiro with a Hot Shot and a Fisherman Buster. Two count. ELP with a springboard press, followed by a springboard moonsault. Two count. ELP with a brainbuster. Two count.
ELP hits a sit down powerbomb. Two count. ELP with a UFO. ELP goes for a cover. Yujiro raises his arm and hits a low blow on ELP. Yujiro with an Olympic Slam. Two count. Yujiro hits Miami Shine. Two count. Yujiro with Pimp Juice. ELP kicks out! Yujiro goes for Big Juice but ELP escapes and hits Sudden Death. ELP cannot make the cover as he is selling the low blow and neck.
As ELP is about hit another Sudden Death, SHO runs to the ring. As the referee stops him, SHO slides the wrench in the ring. Yujiro is still hurting from Sudden Death. ELP goes to punch SHO but he pinches his nipples. SHO screams in pain on the ring apron. Yujiro grabs the wrench and tries to hit ELP, who ducks the blow. ELP kicks Yujiro in the gut and grabs the wrench. ELP hits the wrench in his open hand, tosses the wrench to Yujiro and falls to the mat screaming. The referee sees ELP on the mat screaming and Yujiro holding the wrench. Yujiro drops the wrench and the referee goes to get it.
ELP throws a blatant punch to the groin of Yujiro and hits Sudden Death. ELP takes out SHO with a tope suicida. ELP goes to the top rope and hits Thunderkiss 86.
ELP pins Yujiro.
El Phantasmo earns 2 points.
After the match, ELP kisses Pieter’s hand and they leave the ring together. Yujiro and SHO are screaming at Pieter, but she waved goodbye and she and ELP walk to the back with arms around each other.
ELP ask Pieter as they walk away “Do you know what “consent” is? I hope so.”
Fun match. Despite all the shenanigans, ELP gets a definitive win in the G1 Climax as a heavyweight. Credit to Yujiro for helping ELP to get to another level.
B Block: SANADA vs. Taichi, with Miho Abe
They begin the match showing off their pectoral muscles. Taichi knees SANADA in the gut. Taichi applies an abdominal stretch. SANADA gets to the ropes. SANADA hits a drop kick to the head. Taichi goes to the floor. SANADA with a plancha. Taichi rolls in the ring. Taichi hits a high kick and follows with more kicks to the abdomen. Taichi drops SANADA with an Axe Bomber. Taichi sets up for another kick but SANADA grabs him in a Dragon Sleeper. Taichi grabs SANADA by the throat, choking him. SANADA gets out of his grip. SANADA comes off the second rope and Taichi chops him in the throat. SANADA avoids Black Mephisto and hits a rolling elbow. SANADA goes for a Tiger Suplex. Two count. Taichi hits a Dangerous Backdrop. Two count. Taichi goes for a choke slam off the ropes, but SANADA flips out of it. SANADA goes for an O’Conner Roll. Two count. SANADA hits a TKO. Taichi kicks out at two.
SANADA traps Taichi in Skull End. SANADA lets go of the hold and goes for a moonsault. Taichi gets his knees up. Taichi rolls SANADA into a Gedo Clutch. SANADA reverses into a pin with a bridge. Taichi rakes his eyes and goes for another Gedo Clutch. Two count. Taichi drops SANADA with a stiff elbow. Taichi kicked SANADA in the eye and hits an Axe Bomber. Taichi with a high kick in the face. Taichi throws SANADA across the ring with a sumo throw. Taichi charges and SANADA grabs him in an O’Conner Roll.
SANADA pins Taichi.
SANADA earns 2 points.
A Block: Jeff Cobb vs. Bad Luck Fale
They begin by hammering each other with punches. Lots of power moves between these men. Fale focused on the back of Cobb. Fale goes for the Hand Grenade, but Cobb blocks it. Fale tries for the Bad Luck Fall but Cobb wiggles out. Cobb picks up Fale for a vertical suplex. Cobb hits a Tour of the Islands! Big gasp from the crowd.
Cobb pins Fale.
Jeff Cobb earns 2 points.
C Block: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito
Good chain wrestling to start the match. Tanahashi hit Naito with forearms. Naito with drop kick sending Tanahashi to the floor. Naito bounces Tanahashi off the guardrails. Naito with a neck breaker and applies a full nelson leg submission on the floor. The referee counts. Naito lets go of the submission and throws him in the ring before the count out. Naito applies the submission again, but Tanahashi gets to the ropes. Naito hits two more neck breakers. Naito, mockingly, kicked Tanahashi in the head. Tanahashi pumps up and dragon screws Naito’s leg. Tanahashi climbs to the second rope, thinking senton, but he comes down with a hard stomp on Naito’s leg. Ouch!
Tanahashi is fired up and goes for a Slingblade. Naito avoids it and pushes Tanahashi into the corner. Naito hits Combonacion Cabron. Naito hits an Esperanza and follows with Gloria. Naito applies a Pluma Blanka, similar to a Koji Clutch. Tanahashi gets to the ropes. Naito hit a Spinebuster and goes for Destino. Tanahashi avoids it and dragon screws Naito.
They get to their feet and exchange elbows. Tanahashi hits three Twist and Shouts. Tanahashi hits three Slingblades. Two count. Tanahashi hits Aces High. Tanahashi misses a High Fly Flow. Naito with a Jacknife Roll. Tanahashi kicks out. They hit each other with open hand slaps. Naito connects with Valencia. Naito sets up for Destino. Tanahashi quickly grabs Naito into a inside cradle.
Tanahashi pins Naito.
Hiroshi Tanahashi earns 2 points.
Great match and great story told in the ring. Both men pulled out their big moves but a simple inside cradle was the finish. Awesome stuff.
