NJPW STRONG REPORT: TAG TOURNAMENT CONTINUES, AND MORE

Match Number One: Jordan Cruz versus JR Kratos

Kratos with a running shoulder tackle as the bell rings. Kratos with a suplex. Kratos with forearms ini the corner and he gets a near fall. Kratos with a reverse chin lock. Cruz with elbows and he stomps on Kratos’ foot. Cruz with a slap but Kratos with a boot to the head. Kratos with a suplex for a near fall. Kratos with forearms and knees to Cruz. Kratos misses an elbow drop and a second one. Cruz with a drop kick.

Cruz is sent to the apron but he connects with a forearm. Cruz goes up top and hits a shoulder tackle. Cruz with running clotheslines that do nothing to Kratos. Cruz with a head scissors that sends Kratos into the turnbuckles. Kratos with a flying boot and a clothesline in the corner followed by a flying clothesline. Kratos picks up Cruz by the neck and then hits a sit out uranage for the three count.

Winner: JR Kratos

After the match, Kratos addresses the crowd and they are not happy to hear from him. Kratos shows that the feeling is mutual. Kratos asks Alex if he heard that. I want you in Charlotte in a Last Man Standing Match.

Match Number Two: Rocky Romero, David Finlay, and Mascara Dorada versus Negro Casas, Adrian Quest, and Lucas Riley

Casas and Finlay start things off. They lock up and Finlay backs Casas into the corner and he grabs the leg and then lets it go. They lock up and Finlay with a wrist lock into a hammer lock. Casas with a double over hook but Finlay with a hammer lock and he takes Casas to the mat. Finlay with an arm bar and he gets a near fall. Dorada tags in and Casas escapes. Dorada wants Quest and he tags in. They lock up and Quest with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Quest with a springboard corkscrew cross body. Riley tags in and Dorada with a kick to Quest.

Riley kicks Dorada and he Irish whips Dorada. Riley runs into a boot and Dorada with a bulldog for a near fall. Romero tags in and he kicks Riley. Romero with a snap mare and a drop kick. Romero with a forearm and Riley punches back. They go back and forth with Romero chopping Riley in the corner. Romero with an Irish whip and he misses a splash into the corner. Riley with a tornado suplex. Casas tags in snd he connects with a knee and chop. Romero with chops and they go back and forth. They exchange forearms. Romero with a kick and Irish whip. Romero winds up and hits a series of infinity clotheslines but he misses and Casas with strikes and kicks in the corner. Casas with a drop kick into the corner. Casas with a knee in the corner. Riley tags in and kicks Romero. Riley with a shooting star press for a near fall.

Riley with an elbow to the top of the head. Riley with a slam and he goes to the apron for a slingshot senton and Quest tags in and gets a near fall. Quest with a suplex for a near fall. Quest with an arm bar on Romero. Quest with a clothesline and he gets a near fall. Casa tags in and he connects with a knee to the ribs. Casas with a wrist lock take down and a cross arm breaker. Romero gets to the ropes to force a break. Casas continues to work on the arm. Riley holds the arm while Casas connects with a knee.

Casas with a knee and snap mare. Casas and Riley kick Romero and then Quest joins in while the referee tells Finlay and Dorada to stay in the corner. Casas with knees to the midsection. Romero with an uppercut and punch that sends Casas to the mat. Dorada tags in and hits a springboard cross body. Dorada with a back flip in the ring and a head scissors take down. Dorada goes to the ropes and hits a springboard drop kick for a near fall. Finlay sends Riley to the floor when he tries to interfere.

Dorada gets Casas up and Casa gets to his feet. Dorada with elbows. Casas with a drop kick to the knee. Quest and Finlay tag in and Quest with forearms. Quest escapes a lawn dart and he drop kicks Finlay into the corner. Quest is sent to the apron and Quest with a forearm. He goes for a springboard move but Finlay catches him and hits a uranage back breaker. Finlay tags in Romero and Romero with a missile drop kick to Quest in the ropes.

Romero gets a near fall. Romero slaps Quest and connects with a back kick. Romero goes for sliced break but Quest gets to his feet and he kicks Romero. Riley tags in and he knocks Finlay and Dorada off the turnbuckles. Casas kicks Romero and Riley with a jumping knee. Riley kicks Romero and Quest with a Codebreaker. Riley with a swanton for a near fall.

All six men are in the ring and Casas and Quest are send to the floor. Dorada with a suicide dive to Casas. Riley with an uppercut to Romero and Romero with a clothesline. Romero with an Asai DDT for the three count.

Winners: Rocky Romero, David Finlay, and Mascara Dorada

After the match, Romero has some words for Casas and he wants him to come back into the ring. Quest and Riley get in the ring to even up the sides. Romero raises Casas’ hand.

Match Number Three: Christopher Daniels and Yuya Uemura versus Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls in a Semifinal Match in the NJPW Strong Tag Title Tournament

Nicholls and Haste attack Daniels and Uemura before the bell rings. They send Daniels to the floor and Haste chops Uemura in the corner. Daniels grabs Uemura and then Uemura sends Nicholls to the floor.

With only two men in the ring, the referee starts the match.

Uemura chops Haste and Daniels with a kick. They give Haste a double hip toss and then Uemura flapjacks Daniels onto Haste. Uemura with a forearm and Haste tries to get in a forearm but Uemura blocks it and follows with more forearms. Uemura with a slam and Daniels tags in and hits a slingshot elbow drop for a near fall.

Daniels with a chop and forearm. Daniels with kicks in the corner. Uemura tags back in and they hit a missile drop kick and side Russian leg sweep combination for a near fall. Uemura with forearms and a back elbow. Uemura with elbow drops for a near fall. Haste with a forearm and Uemura fires back. They continue the exchange. Nicholls trips Uemura and Haste with a baseball slide. Nicholls slams Uemura’s head into the apron. Nicholls tags in and he hits a knee drop to the back of the head. Nicholls rakes the eyes and he knocks Daniels off the apron. Uemura with forearms and a chop. Nicholls with a chop that sends Uemura to the floor. Nicholls sends Uemura into the turnbuckles and Haste tags in. They hit a double back elbow and then Haste with a moonsault while Nicholls hits a fist drop. Haste kicks Uemura in the back. Haste with kicks to Uemura but Uemura with a forearm. Uemura knocks Nicholls off the apron and Haste with a drop kick for a near fall. Haste stands on the ankle and tags in Nicholls. Haste with an Irish whip and Nicholls with an elbow in the corner and then they hit an Air Raid Crash and neck breaker combination. Nicholls with a front face lock and he sets for a suplex but Uemura blocks it. Nicholls with forearms and he goes for a suplex but Uemura counters with a suplex of his own and both men are down.

Daniels tags in and he connects with a running forearm and back elbow. Daniels with a clothesline and he gives Haste a back body drop. Daniels with jabs to Haste and then Daniels with an STO to Nicholls. Daniels with elbows to Haste followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb. Daniels with a kick to Nicholls and he goes for Angel’s Wings but Nicholls blocks it and he gives Daniels a back body drop followed by a spinebuster. Nicholls with a clothesline for a near fall. Haste tags in.

Nicholls gets Daniels on his shoulders for an assisted leaping DDT but Haste can only get a near fall. Haste and Nicholls try to get Daniels up but he lands on his feet and he avoids Nicholls and Haste. Uemura tags in and he connect with a forearm and back elbow to Haste. Uemura with a forearm to Nicholls. Uemura with forearms to both men and an enzuigiri to Haste. Nicholls with forearms and Uemura fires back. Nicholls with a knee but Uemura with a drop kick.

Uemura with an arm trapped overhead belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Uemura goes up top and Nicholls with a punch and he sends Haste to the turnbuckles for a power bomb and superplex combination. Nicholls puts Haste on top of Uemura but Uemura kicks out. Haste and Nicholls get Uemura up but Daniels makes the save. They get Daniels up for the press slam spinebuster. Uemura with a rana to Haste for the three count.

Winners: Christopher Daniels and Yuya Uemura (Advance to the Finals)

After the match, Nicholls and Haste are in shock that they lost while Daniels celebrates with Uemura on the floor.
