NWA INSTITUTING NEW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

By Mike Johnson on 2022-07-21 12:48:00

The National Wrestling Alliance will officially announce this week on NWA Powerrr that they are instituting a Women's Television Championship.  The announcement will be made by Madusa.  The belt is currently being designed by NWA President Billy Corgan and Dave Millican, who is the master classman in terms of belt design and production today.

There is no current timetable as to when the belt will be introduced into the company's storylines, but it could be as soon as the NWA 74 PPV next month.  There's been talk the belt being a vehicle to push Allysin Kay.

The men's version of the TV Championship is currently held by Tyrus and has a lucky seven rule, where if the defending champion has seven successful title defenses, he can relinquish the TV title in exchange for an NWA Championship match.  One would think the same rules will govern the women's version of the TV title, but that's not 100% confirmed.
