KINGSTON VS. JERICHO BARBED WIRE MATCH & MORE: COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE FYTERFEST WEEK TWO REPORT

It's Wednesday Night! And that means AEW Dymanite is LIVE and will feature possibly THE largest shark cage in wrestling history. Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz have the call of the action.  

Brody King vs. Darby Allin

Sting goes back to the locker room. Dropkick by Allin, King to the floor. Allin goes for a tope suicida but his feet get caught on the ropes.  King throws him into the post and sends the action back in.  Clothesline by King followed by a Senton. Chop by King, he sets Allin up for a superplex.  Allin kicks him off and leaps off the top rope. King brushes him aside and throws him to the floor. Darby gets catapulted into the rail. King does it again.  King semds the action back in the ring. Darby with forearms that don't register.  King brutalizes Allin with a clothesline and a chop.  Allin slumps to the floor as we go to commercial.

We're back and King is stalking Allin and rolls him into the ring.  Allin retreats to the floor and hooks King's feet with his belt. Allin pulls him the floor and nails a lope suicida.  Back in the ring, Allin nails a coffin splash. He tries another but King applies a sleeper and sets Allin up in the tree of woe. King misses a cannonball. Surfboard by Allin, King powers out. Allin with a sleeper and King runs a cannonball, both men are down. Allin exposes the turnbuckle but gets caught in a sleeper. Much like the Royal Rampage, King drops him to the floor. Allin just barely beat the clont. Gonzo Bomb by King and he scores the pin.

WINNER BRODY KING

King with a sleeper and here comes Sting. Sting with a kick and he goes for a Scorpion Death Drop. The lights go out. When they come back, Sting and Malakai Black are face to face and Sting eats some mist to the face.  Sleeper  by King and here comes Miro, who stops midway through and stares down the House of Black.

Cole Carter joins Tony Schiavone, he's immediately interrupted by Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs ahead of their FTW title match later.

Trent Baretta & Chuck Taylor w/Orange Cassidy vs. Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta

Cassidy and William Regal join the booth. Tony Schiavone has left the booth so it's a 4 man.  Moxley and Trent kick us off. Go behind takedown by Moxley, sit out by Baretta. Arm twist by Moxley into a wristlock takedown. They trade chops and a dragon screw by Moxley.  Yuta tags in. Taylor tags in. Lockup, clean break in the corner.  Lockup, another clean break, albeit hesitantly.  Shoulder block by Taylor. Go behind takedown. Slap by Chuck. Baretta tags in and they're trading hard blows. Enzihuiri by Yuta but Trent with a German Suplex. Trent rains forearms in the ropes. Taylor pulls him off to avert the DQ. Yuta with a hard forearm before getting sent to the floor. Chuck sends him into the railing as Moxley makes the rescue. We go to commercial.

We're back and Yuta with a torture rack drop to Taylor. Daniel Garcia is scouting the ROH Pure Champion.  Moxley tags in and rains elbows on Baretts and sends Taylor into the timekeepers table. Moxley with a cutter to Trent and then stomps his face. Yuta tags in. Before leaving, Taylor with a tombstone to Moxley.  Piledriver to Yuta by Trent for 2.  Yuta avoids Strong Zero and suplexes Trent with a neckbreaker for 2, broken up by Moxley at the last second.  Trent knocks Moxley off the apron. Yuta with a guillotine. Moxley pulls Trent off the apron as Yuta nails the seatbest rollup for the pin.

WINNER: Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta

We get a video of Jonathan Gresham vs. Claudio Castignoli ahead of their ROH World Title Match this Saturday.  Chompy the Shark joins the booth to wave to the crowd.  If I know my wrestling, that shark will come into play later.

Tony Schiavone welcomes new AEW World Tag Team Champions Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland to the ring. The crowd tells them they deserve it. Kevin Gates is in the crowd. He's a music artist. Lee wants to know when the deluxe album is coming out.  Lee thanks the fans and declares that they're at the top of the tag team division and Lee offers a toast. Mark Sterling interrupts with Tony Nese.  He says he's close to having Swerve removed from the roster.  Sterling asks Kevin Gates to sign it. Gates refuses to sign.  Sterling tells him his music sucks. Nese gets between them and gets punched out by Gates. The celebration cake ends up in Sterling's face.

Tony Schiavone is with John Silver and Alex Reynolds, who immediately get into a brawl with Butcher and Blade. Adam Page makes the save.

The Varsity Blondes vs. Luchasaurus & Christian Cage

Cage and Pillman kick us off but Luchasaurus tags in and immediately elbows Pillman to the mat. Garrison tags in and throws a trio of spinning elbows. Luchasaurus drops them both with a double clothesline.  Luchasaurus with a choke slam to Pillman and Garrison. Cage tags in and scores the pin.

WINNERS CHRISTIAN CAGE & LUCHASAURUS

Luchasaurus parades Cage on his shoulders.  Jungle Boy Jack Perry comes out, steel chair in tow.  Luchasaurus steps aside and lets Perry go on the attack. Cage runs away with Perry in hot pursuit.

The Gunn Club are backstage with Lexi. Colton challenges Max caster to a rap battle for Rampage.

Jim Ross joins the booth.

FTW Championship: Cole Karter vs. Ricky Starks (FTW Champion) w/Powerhouse Hobbs

Kick by Starks, followed by chops.  Running hip attack by Starks into a clothesline. Karter with some right hands.  Boot to the jaw by Karter and he clotheslines Starks to the floor as we go to commercial.

We're back and Karter with a trio of running clotheslines and an elbow strike for 2.  Starks goes for the spear but Karter leapfrogs him and nails a cutter. Karter misses a 450 and Starks hits a subsequent spear for the pin.

WINNER AND STILL FTW CHAMPION RICKY STARKS

Starks wants the mic and wants to issue another challenge out here. Danhausen answers and accepts the challenge. Starks said he didn't mean right now, but next week.

Athena, Willow Nightingale and Statlander are in the back, talking about how they want championships.

 

FTR joins Tony Schiavone in the ring. They've got a big one this Saturday vs. The Briscoes. They get over how much of a war Supercard of Honor was.  Dax tells a tale of a little girl with an irregular heartbeat. The doctor told the parents the girl might need surgery.  Three years later, that little girl was healed.  That little girl was Dax Harwoods daughter. Daddy will fight just as hard as she did.  Great promo. Amy Vaughn is happy.

Jay Lethal is with Sonjay Dutt and Sutnam Singh.  They're there to plug Lethal's challenge to Samoa Joe Saturday night.  Christopher Daniels challenges Lethal to a match.

Anything else happen with Lethal this week?

Jade Cargill & Kiera Hogan w/Stokely Hathway and Jermaine Dupri vs. Athena & Willow Nightingale

Hogan and Athena kick us off. Deep armdrags by Athena. Kicks in the corner and tags in Willow.  Shoulder block by Willow. Single leg trip by Hogan, she misses a dropkick. Willow with a splash for 2.  Athena gets tagged in and gets slammed by Willow into Hogan for 2.  Athena punches Jade. She falls to the floor. Hogan goes to regroup. Willow nails Jade and Hogan with a double blockbuster. Athena follows up with a splash to the floor as we got o commercial.

Back to live action, Athena with a samoan drop to Hogan. Willow tags in and chops the heck out of Hogan. Spinebuster by Willow, Jade makes th esave.  Athena confronts JAde. They trade forearms and evade each other until Jade nails a clothesline.  JAde catches Athena and delivers a fallaway slam. Athena kips up and the actions spills to the floor. A superkick sends Athena into the steps.  Jade ends up hitting Jaded for the pin on Willow

WINNERS KIERA HOGAN AND JADE CARGILL

Tony is backstage with ThunderStorm. Next week Rosa will defend against Yamashita.  Britt Baker DMD and Jamie Hayter interrupt and mockingly wish her luck.

The shark cage is lowered. There is barbed wire everywhere, apparently. Even on Justin Roberts' microphone.

Barbed Wire Everywhere Death Match: The Painmaker Chris Jericho vs Eddie Kingston

Hager, Parker, Menard and Garcia are locked in a shark cage.  Not Guevara or Conti.  Kingston grabs the mic and immediatley goes to work on Jericho and busts Jericho open immediately.  Action spills to the floor and Kingston chokes him and bites the wound. Jericho hits kingston with the wire draped ring bell. Jericho goes face first into a table with, you guessed it, barb wire.  Kingston sends Jericho into the ropes. Kingston rakes Jericho across the wire.  Kingston nails Jericho with a chair (wrapped in wire).

Jericho punches back and hurancanranas Kingston onto a table which is adorned in barb wire.

(for the sake of argument, let's agree from here on out that every object these men run into or get hit with is barb wire tainted)

We're back and they're trading right hands. Jericho goes into the ropes. Ruby Soho has the keys to the shark cage as well as the controls.  Kingston sets up a table. His back is sliced open pretty good. Kingston suplexes Jericho through the set up table. Tay Conti runs out and assaults Soho. Anna Jay makes the save but immediately turns on Soho.  TayJay is back together. Anna Jay lowers the cage and Conti unlocks it, or at least she tries to. The key doesn't work so the guys squeeze through ther bars.  Ortiz, Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley make the save.Exploder by Kingston through a table for 2.  Codebreaker by Jericho for 2. Jericho goes for a lionsault but Kingston throws a chair at him. Backfist for 2. Razor Wire assisted Stretch Plum by Kingston. Sammy Guevara makes the save. Judas effect with wire wrapped around Jericho's arm and he scores the pin.

WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO

Kingston attacks Jericho and throws him into the barb wire spider web as we go off the air
