NJPW STRONG REPORT: TAG TITLE TOURNAMENT CONTINUES, AND MORE

Match Number One: Barrett Brown and Misterioso versus Ricky Gibson and Eddie Pearl in a First Round Match in the New Japan Strong Tag Team Tournament

Gibson and Misterioso start things off. They lock up and Misterioso with a wrist lock. Gibson with a leg trip and Misterioso with a wrist lock take down. Misterioso continues to work on the arm. Gibson with a knee and forearm. Brown tags in and they lock up. Brown with a side head lock. Gibson sends Brown to the mat and Pearl tags in and misses an elbow drop. Brown with a few arm drags and then Pearl avoids one. Pearl misses an elbow drop and then Brown misses an elbow drop. Misterioso and Gibson tag back in.

Brown distracts Gibson and Misterioso with a drop kick to Gibson and then he knocks Pearl off the apron. Brown with forearms to Gibson and then Misterioso comes back in and applies a front face lock. Brown tags in and Misterioso with a drop toe hold to Gibson and Brown with a drop kick to the temple for a near fall. Gibson calls a time out and Brown with a kick. Misterioso tags in and they send Gibson into the turnbuckles. They Irish whip Gibson and then Brown hits a few uppercuts in the corner. Misterioso with a double knee strike in the corner for a near fall.

Misterioso with a double leg take down and a giant swing and Brown with a drop kick for a near fall. Misterioso sends Pearl to the floor and then Misterioso and Brown kick Gibson. Gibson with a side head lock and Pearl trips Brown and Gibson with a DDT for a near fall. Gibson with a splash and Pearl with a punch to the midsection. Pearl knocks Misterioso off the apron and gets a near fall on Brown. Pearl chokes Brown in the ropes and sends him into Gibson’s knee. Gibson with a punch to the midsection and Pearl with a slingshot senton to Brown’s back followed by a near fall. Brown with forearms to Pearl and Pearl sends Brown into the turnbuckles. Gibson tags in and kicks Brown in the back. Brown sends Gibson into Pearl’s knee in the corner and Pearl tags back in. Pearl with a punch and Gibson tags in. Brown with forearms but Gibson with an elbow to the top of the head. Gibson with a front face lock as Brown tries to get to his corner. Gibson with an elbow to the back and Pearl tags in. They go for a double suplex but Brown escapes and he gives Gibson a back body drop. Pearl knocks Misterioso off the apron and then hits a side Russian leg sweep onto Gibson’s knees.

Pearl gets a near fall but Misterioso breaks it up. Gibson misses Misterioso and goes to the apron. Misterioso with an Asai Moonsault onto Gibson. Brown with an inside cradle for a near fall. Misterioso with a super kick to Pearl followed by a lungblower. Brown with a flying boot for the three count.

Winners: Barrett Brown and Misterioso (advance to face winner of Evil Uno and Alan Angels versus Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis)

Match Number Two: Tom Lawlor versus Bad Dude Tito

They lock up and Tito backs Lawlor into the ropes and pushes him on the break. They lock up and Lawlor gets in the ropes and he slaps at Tito but Tito laughs at Lawlor. Tito runs Lawlor into the corner and chops him. Tito with forearms and lawlor with a kick and chop. Lawlor with a forearm and chops. Tito with chops. Lawlor goes for a waist lock and the leg but Tito blocks it. Lawlor gets a near fall with a rollup. Tito with a waist lock take down. Lawlor with a standing switch but Tito with a double wrist lock take down.

Lawlor with a drop toe hold to escape and he uses the legs for a hammer lock. Lawlor pulls at the leg to hyper-extend it. Lawlor with forearms and a chop. Tito with a forearm and Lawlor with a European uppercut. Tito with a forearm and Lawlor goes for a double wrist lock and body scissors but Tito sends Lawlor to the mat. Lawlor goes for a rear naked choke but Tito rolls through and applies an ankle lock. Lawlor with a triangle into a cross arm breaker but Tito returns to the ankle lock.

Tito gets the ankle lock applied again and Lawlor gets to the ropes. Lawlor wit a knee to the midsection and a forearm. Lawlor with a chop and kick in the corner. Lawlor with a seated splash in the corner. Lawlor wit a cravate and knees to the head. Tito with a clothesline and thrust kick that sends Lawlor to the mat. Tito with a thrust kick and enzugiiri followed by a clothesline for a near fall. Tito with a camel clutch and then he follows with cross faces. Tito with an exploder but Lawlor blocks a clothesline and tries for an exploder. Tito with another exploder. Lawlor with a tornado into a guillotine and body scissors. Lawlor with Emerald Frosion for a near fall. Tito blocks a kick and applies an ankle lock.

Lawlor misses an enzuigiri and Tito with a German suplex. Tito with a running European uppercut but Lawlor with a wrist lock take down. Tito with a blockbuster for a near fall. Tito gets Lawlor up but Lawlor counters into a rear naked choke. Tito with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Tito goes to the turnbuckles and he misses a frog splash.

Lawlor with a running kick to the chest and he gets a near fall. Lawlor sets for a knee and Tito spits in his face. Lawlor with the knee and a straitjacket choke and knee to the back of the head. Lawlor with a rear naked choke and Tito backs Lawlor into the turnbuckles. Lawlor with a head lock driver for the three count.

Winner: Tom Lawlor

Match Number Three: Evil Uno and Alan Angels versus Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis in a First Round Match in the New Japan Strong Tag Team Tournament

Angels and Fletcher start things and Fletcher with a side head lock take down. Kyle with a shoulder tackle and Alan misses a drop kick when Kyle holds on to the ropes. Alan with a victory roll for a near fall. Alan misses a kick but hits a jumping side kick. Uno tags in and Kyle gets away. Davis tags in and they both try for shoulder tackles to no result. Davis with a shoulder tackle and Uno with a hes scissors take down. Davis with a slam. Kyle tags in and they hit a double chop and then Kyle kicks Uno. Davis with a back senton. Kyle slingshots Alan into the ring and Davis with an uppercut. Kyle with a slam and he gets a near fall.

Kyle chokes Uno in the ropes and Davis tags in and connects with a forearm. Uno with forearms. Davis with a slam and he tags Kyle back into the ring. Davis and Kyle with forearms but they hit head other in the arm when Uno moves. Uno uses Kyle to kick Davis. Uno hands Kyle’s leg to the referee and hits a neck breaker. Alan tags in and he hits a double cross body. Alan with an enzuigiri to Kyle followed by a chop. Alan with punches in the corenr and he flips over Davis and hits a tornado DDT on Davis. Alan with Spanish Fly to Kyle for a near fall. Uno tags in and catches Kyle on a leap frog and hits a German suplex. Alan with a kick on the apron and Uno clotheslines Kyle to the floor. Uno knocks Davis off the apron. Uno hits End of Days for a near fall. Uno with a forearm to the lower back and Alan tags in. Uno and Alan stomp on the hands and Alan with a chop. Alan sends Kyle into the turnbuckles and chops Kyle. Uno tags in.

Uno with a chop and he sets for a suplex but Kyle blocks it. Uno with forearms and then he goes for a suplex but Kyle blocks it and hits a suplex of his own. Alan and Davis tag in and Davis sends Alan into the turnbuckles and biels him a few times. Davis with a German suplex and Alan lands on his feet. Alan sends Davis to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Alan drop kicks Kyle before sending Davis back into the ring. Alan goes up top and Davis chops Alan. Kyle tags in. Davis runs into a boot and so does Kyle. Alan comes off the turnbuckles and misses Kyle but Davis catches him and Kyle connects with a knee. Kyle with a cutter off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Davis knocks Uno off the apron. Alan with a head scissors to Kyle and a head scissors that sends Davis to the floor. Uno with a cannonball to Davis. Uno tags in and hits a splash in the corner. Alan with a forearm and Uno clips Kyle. Alan with a super kick and then he hits another super kick while Uno gets Kyle up for a suplex but he can only get a near fall.

Uno chops Davis a few times. Davis with a chop of his own. Uno with chops and Davis chops back. Uno slaps Davis and hits a forearm. Davis with a jumping enzuigiri. Alan with a thrust kick to Kyle but Kyle with a drop kick. Uno with a boot to Kyle and Uno goes up top and Davis with a superplex. Alan wit a frog splash to Davis. Uno with a boot to Davis and Alan tags in. Davis with a double clothesline and Kyle tags in. Davis with a slam to Alan . Davis with an uppercut to Uno. Davis and Kyle with forearms and a double power bomb for the three count.

Winners: Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis (advance to face Barrett Brown and Misterioso)
