WHAT A WEEK IT HAS BEEN FOR WRESTLING OPEN!
When I said EVERY THURSDAY FOREVER I meant it.
— Beyond Wrestling (@beyondwrestling) July 11, 2022
Unfortunately White Eagle is unable to host @WrestlingOpen this Thursday.
We are working on finalizing details to relocate Episode 28 scheduled for 7/14 at 8pm to a new venue within Worcester.
Stay tuned and help spread the word! pic.twitter.com/cEScTSd6ic
On Monday, we heard via Twitter that the White Eagle was not able to host Wrestling Open this week. So how do we do every Thursday until forever? Outdoor shows were off the table due to impending thunderstorms in the area so Beyond had to find a new venue on a few days notice. Enter the Worcester Palladium, a venue that DC has wanted to run a show at (and ALMOST DID ONE TIME THANKS PANDEMIC), lwho gave access to the smaller upstairs venue for tonight’s show. We’re not live on IWTV so all this is SPOILER TOWN USA POPULATION YOU until it goes live on VOD.
Spent a decent chunk of this afternoon crying. Part happy. Part sad. Part excited. Part scared. Mostly sleep-deprived. This is the 2022 version of the first Americanrana. It's all riding on Thursday. https://t.co/VP4mSrJBW1
— Drew Cordeiro (@drewcordeiro) July 12, 2022
For the sake of transparency, moving @WrestlingOpen to The Palladium on 48 hours notice has put us over budget for tomorrow night.
— Beyond Wrestling (@beyondwrestling) July 13, 2022
100% of the gate goes to the wrestlers but if you'd like to help us offset some expenses please buy a shirt from @ShopIWTV:https://t.co/vPXqPj10k6 pic.twitter.com/l0dOxCAgpA
But hey, eff all the anxiety. We are HERE in the legendary Worcester Palladium!!! Rich Palladino is your announcer! Paul Crockett & Sam Laterna are on commentary! Let’s goooooooo!
Match 1: Mike Skyros vs “The Ovaltine Dream” Thomas Santell
The “NERD” chants are loud as Santell makes his entrance! Santell makes it into the ring without tripping. Skyros overpowering him at the bell but Santell with a reverse monkey flip and head scissor. Skyros tries the same but Santell stomps his face. Caught in the corner, Skyros out with a backbreaker and works over the abs. Santell firing back, backslide pin doesn’t work. Skyros with a pump kick stuns the dream. The crowd jeers Skyros as “Saaaaaad Boooyyyyyyyy” as he chops Santell. The nerd catches him with a fisherman’s suplex and bridges for the win!
Winner: Thomas Santell
Match 2: 9 to 5 (Louis Lyndon & Jack Verville) vs the Amazing Graysons (Tommy & JP Grayson)
F*** 9 to 5 and their stupid alarm clock entrance audio. I hate bells. I hate whistles. I hate demon duck calls. <shakes fist at cloud>. JP stomped by Verville but gets caught yelling at the crowd. Sick flip getting pulled off the buckles. Double tag, Verville getting double teamed. Wheelbarrow splash for two! Lyndon in and isolating Tommy. Cool sweep to a senton combo from 9 to 5. Verville baiting JP and Tommy decked for a close two. JP finally in hot. Lethal injection! Samoan drop neckbreaker to Alyson ends the contest!
Winners: The Amazing Graysons
Match 3: Joseline Navarro vs Anastasia Morningstar
Barkerville Barkerville Barkerville A-Woooooooooo! (+10 points if you get that). Morningstar is not used to being matched for power and can’t just bully Navarro over. Arm drag takeover…Joseline comes running right into a powerslam. SMASH. Big Splash! Joseline throwing hands, Anastasia is staggered! Trip to the ropes….double knee! Joseline catches her out of the corner with a basement ddt for a near fall! Joseline tries to pick her up but Morningstar reverses to a Samoan drop for the pin!
Winner: Anastasia Morningstar
Match 4: Members Only (Malcolm Cambridge & Calvin G Lewis) vs The Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & BRG w/ his Trusty Steed Clip Clop)
We didn’t know what to think of THIS Members Only but since the Ranch is here, we’re rooting for them. Stetson must be confident since he chooses to start the match. Early Power but he eats a flying kick. Double team kicks and close calls on the pin. BRG in with his GREAT strut. Stetson drops him for a pony ride on Lewis. Ranch keeping Lewis in the corner. Calvin backdrops free, stumble tag to Cambridge! Malcom drops BRG but Stetson blasts in for the save. Lewis with a flying knee! BRG stuffs Malcom with an Unprettier for the win!
Winners: Stetson Ranch

Match 6: Ray Jaz vs Brian Burgundy
I needed a good cathartic boooooo today. Ray Jaz probably said stuff but f*** Ray Jaz and his stupid tips. I was too busy booing. Jaz has a size advantage and tries to exploit it. The crowd is behind Burgundy but Jaz is beating him solid. There is NO offense from Burgundy. No comeback. Jaz smashes him with a cradle bomb.
Winner: Ray Jaz
BREAKING: It was originally scheduled to be The Haven vs. Even Stevens, but apparently a HIGHER POWER has something else to say…#WrestlingOpen pic.twitter.com/wMuwRYD9eS

Match 7: The Church of Greatness (Brother Greatness, Stephen Azure & Steven Somerset) vs The Haven (Jay Onyx & Shawn Knyte) and Ichiban
Oh hell yeah. Even Stevens are still altar boys. BG has tights to match their vests. Huge pop for Haven & Ichiban. The crowd wishes to know what the church did with Jay Heru. (He’s in the back of the room and definitely appreciated it). Haven taking out the Stevens, back body drop splash and moonsault to Azure. Onyx hit with a back body drop, Ichiban and Greatness in. BG eats like 30 corner punches and a back elbow for two! Atomic drop clothesline combo for two! Triple team on Knyte. It’s very holy. AA from Azure! Straight jacket slam for two! Ichiban in, do si do to Greatness! Flatliner to Azure! Haven blasts Somerset with the clothesline powerbomb for the win!

Match 8: JGeorge vs Bobby Orlando
Does Sidney Bakabella still have Bobby Jr??? JGeorge has his script and wants Bobby to do a reading. Orlando rips the script and suplexes the Auteur. He honks his megaphone into JGeroge’s face. JGeroge fires back, great corner backstabber for a near fall. Bobby catches a kick. Corner elbows and a Bobby slam For two! the director cuts to the throat and tries to capitalize. Gory bomb! Orlando with a neckbreaker off the ropes and puts JGeroge away!
Winner: Bobby Orlando
Bobby Junior challenges the boys of World Class to come out here and bring him Bobby Junior. Bakabella baits him and Channing hits him from behind. The Graysons out to make the save! Bakabella tosses Bobby Jr back. It’s a trap. The Graysons ambush Orlando! Bakabella grabs a knife and CUTS BOBBY JUNIORS THROAT. Oh my god.
So match 8: Bobby Orlando beats JGeorge. The real story is The Graysons joining World Class and Bakabella CUTTING BOBBY JUNIOR’S THROAT. #WrestlingOpen pic.twitter.com/NbUCSSH9DJ

Match 9: Platinum Max Caster vs Rex Lawless
It’s a big challenge and Lawless is ALL OVER the over confident Caster, who is a little miffed we boo him now. Caster goes to the eyes and posts Rex after being unable to get an advantage through legal means. Caster walking Rex down with neckbreaker and forearms. Rex charges out of the corner but eats buckles instead. Max is feeling himself as he starts to work that leg. Caster grabs the mic and wastes some valuable time to freestyle on Rex….Rex is right on him. Pop up right hand! Outside in Superplex! Max kicks off, Rex boots him off the top. Caster might blast Lawless with the case! Ichiban flies in! He wants a piece of that 10k!
Match 10: “The Problem” Isaiah Broner vs “The Prize” Alec Price
This crowd reaction is DEAFENING for Price. Broner is getting reversed to all hell for these opening sequences until he finally dodges a corner knee and yeets Price across the ring. Fantastic match. Just awesome. Anyways, we have DC in the ring. We ARE going back to the White Eagle next week but also THIS PLACE IS NICE TOO. But Drew wants to be in the other room. The big room. The room that holds 1,000 people. We need to keep telling our friends because he seems to be reinvigorated in his desire to fill that space….you have to have goals. :)
The eagle has landed. @WrestlingOpen back at White Eagle next Thursday, 7/21/22. https://t.co/XtJMV0LCFh

On last side note: because of the budget overrun, my band DNA’s Evolution helped sponsor the event. It was really nice to get a shoutout and a commercial on the VOD…even where it happened lol.
You can see our commercial on @indiewrestling right after @SBakabella murders a stuffed goat. WORLD clASS. #WrestlingOpen https://t.co/qeE1ZOgefy
