BIG E 'AT PEACE' IF HE DOESN'T RETURN TO RING, THE ROCK TOPS 'MOST INFLUENTIAL ACTORS' LIST

Former WWE Champion Big E spoke with TMZ Sports and stated that if he is not able to return to the ring, he is a "at peace" with it, noting, "I feel great. Don't have any nerve issues, don't have any weakness, don't have any atrophy. I got real lucky cause it could've been a lot worse."

Having athletic prowess does not always coincide with being a great actor. Some have risen to fame, but let’s see who makes it onto the 2022 list of the most influential athlete actors.

Entertainment and pop culture specialists Zavvi have conducted a study that reveals who the most influential athlete turned actor is. They have analysed social media profiles to see how much each would earn per sponsored post.

Dwayne Johnson ‘the Rock’ was revealed as the most influential athlete actor. Johnson, rose to fame when he struck a deal with World Wrestling Federation in 1996, where he soon became a popular wrestling personality. The charismatic Johnson appeared in his first movie ‘The Mummy Returns’ where he plays Scorpion King. The movie star has an Instagram following of a whopping 325 million, allowing him to earn up to $823,210 per sponsored Instagram post.

Lebron James has been revealed as the second most influential athlete actor. His first major acting role was in Trainwreck in 2015 and recently Space Jam: A New Legacy. James has the second highest Instagram following with 126 million followers, allowing him to earn $333,829 per sponsored post.

 

Olympic diver Jason Statham is the third most influential athlete actor. He got his first major role as Bacon in 1998 movie, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and has since been featured in Fast and Furious, Italian Job, Snatch and many more. Statham has a following of 30.2 million and can earn up to $81,136 per sponsored post.

 

The fourth most influential athlete star is professional basketball player, Shaq. He became a TV personality before starring in his first movie Blue Chips, 1994. Shaq has collaborated with Papa Johns, Pepsi and other major brands. With his cult following on social media, he can earn a potential $68,100 per sponsored post.

 

Former body builder and governor of California, Arnold Shwarzenegger was revealed as the fifth most influential athlete actor. Broadening his horizons he begun to start acting and debuted in his first movie, Hercules and in New York. Scwarznegger’s popularity soon expanded and is expected to earn up to $59,600 per sponsored post.

 

A spokesperson for Zavvi commented on the findings:

 

“Athletes trying their hand at acting isn’t a new trend, but we’ve certainly seen an increased number of sportspeople make the transition to appearing on screens big and small in recent years.”

 

“Over the past decade, he’s managed to shake off his WWE image and become one of the biggest stars on the planet. As many of the athletes on this list grow older and contemplate retirement from their intense day jobs, it’s hard not to imagine them being interested in carving a similar path, maintaining their fame while moving into a different field altogether. They only need to look at Johnson, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger to see how easily it can be done”.
