World Series Wrestling “Phoenix Rising” Day 3 Recap

Alexander Hammerstone vs. Adam Brooks

The match begins with Hammerstone pretending to throw his shirt into the crowd before hitting Brooks with a pump kick, Hammerstone stomps away on a downed Brooks before landing an overhead release suplex. Brooks fights back and he nails Hammerstone with an enziguri, Hammerstone goes to the ring apron and Brooks knocks him to the arena floor before landing a penalty kick. Hammerstone catches a diving Brooks and Brooks gets free before kicking Hammerstone in the face, Brooks then hits Hammerstone with a moonsault from the guardrail. Hammerstone recovers and he nails Brooks with a power bomb on the ring apron, Brooks gets back in the ring and Hammerstone stomps away on him. Hammerstone drags Brooks around the ring while sending him face first into the turnbuckles before choking him in the corner, Hammerstone goes to the ring apron before hitting Brooks with a pump kick. Hammerstone follows up by nailing Brooks with a back breaker for a near fall, Brooks fights back and he trades a few chops with Hammerstone. 

Brooks escapes the grasp of Hammerstone before landing a spinning body kick, Hammerstone catches a leaping Brooks and he places him on the top turnbuckle. Hammerstone climbs the ropes and he looks for a superplex, Brooks defends and he knocks Hammerstone off the ropes. Brooks misses his double stomp attempt before hitting Hammerstone with a top rope moonsault a short time later for a near fall, Hammerstone avoids a knee strike before hitting Brooks with a spinning bulldog for a near fall. Hammerstone goes for a Nightmare Pendulum and Brooks counters with a roll up, Brooks knocks Hammerstone out of the ring after landing a poison rana. Brooks follows up by hitting Hammerstone with a diving tornado DDT on the arena floor, Brooks gets Hammerstone back in the ring before landing the Vaulting DDT for a near fall. Brooks goes back to the top rope and Slex interferes to shove him down.

Winner: Adam Brooks, by DQ

After the match, Slex attacks Adam Brooks and he sends him into the barricade a few times before getting him back in the ring. Hammerstone joins in on the attack and he stomps away on Brooks alongside Slex, Buddy Matthews makes his way to the ring to help Brooks. Matthews gets the microphone and he wants members of the House Of Black to rise, Matthews asks Brooks to be an honorary member of the House Of Black and Brooks accepts. Brooks challenges Slex and Alexander Hammerstone to a tag match, Adrian Manera comes to the ring and he makes the tag team match official.

Adam Brooks & Buddy Matthews vs. Alexander Hammerstone & Slex

The match begins with Matthews taking his opponents and security out with a suicide dive, Slex is thrown into the ring and Brooks stomps away on him. Matthews becomes the legal man and he attacks the arm of Slex, Brooks tags in and he nails the injured arm of Slex with a top rope axe handle smash. Brooks drops Slex before landing a basement drop kick, Matthews tags back in and he nails the arm of Slex with a top rope double stomp. Brooks tags back in and Slex quickly knocks Matthews to the arena floor, Slex then drops Brooks with a back elbow strike before landing some follow up chops. Hammerstone tags in and he attacks Brooks with a kick to the midsection, Hammerstone follows up by hitting Brooks with a suplex for a near fall. Hammerstone traps the arm of Brooks while landing knee strikes to his midsection, Slex tags in and he double teams Brooks alongside Hammerstone. Slex slams Brooks before pie facing Matthews, Slex goes back to attacking Brooks with strikes before tagging Hammerstone in. Hammerstone and Slex then hit Brooks with a delayed double vertical suplex for a near fall, Hammerstone then hits Brooks with a back breaker.

Slex tags back in and he works over Brooks before tagging Hammerstone back in, Brooks recovers and he makes Hammerstone accidentally hit Slex with a pump kick. Slex prevents a tag from Brooks to Matthews, Hammerstone attacks Brooks and he nails him with a burning hammer for a near fall. Slex tags in and Brooks quickly escapes the grasp of the opposition, Brooks eventually nails both opponents with a double code breaker. Matthews tags in and he quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Matthews nails Slex with a top rope meteora for a near fall. Matthews sets up for Murphy’s Law and Slex defends before eating a super kick followed by a sit out power bomb for a near fall, Hammerstone interferes and Matthews sends him and Slex out of the ring. Brooks returns to take out both opponents with a suicide dive, Hammerstone returns and Matthews knocks him back out of the ring. Slex misses a springboard kick and Matthews hits him with a curb stomp, Brooks tags in as Matthews hits Slex with Murphy’s Law. Brooks then hits Slex with a swanton bomb for a three count.

Winners: Adam Brooks & Buddy Matthews

Tenille Dashwood vs. Shazza McKenzie

The match begins with McKenzie and Dashwood exchanging headlock takedowns, McKenzie nails Dashwood with a kick to the midsection followed by a few other strikes. McKenzie misses a charge in the corner and Dashwood rolls her up for a near fall, Dashwood boots McKenzie in the face before landing a rope assisted neck breaker for a near fall. McKenzie fights back and she sends Dashwood into the corner before landing a face wash, McKenzie keeps Dashwood down while attacking her with strikes. McKenzie follows up by cracking Dashwood with some knee strikes to the midsection, McKenzie then hits Dashwood with a fisherman's suplex for a near fall. McKenzie traps Dashwood in the ropes before choking her on the middle rope, McKenzie keeps Dashwood down while applying a chin lock to her. Dashwood gets free after hitting McKenzie with a jaw breaker, McKenzie and Dashwood trade strikes until McKenzie trips up Dashwood and kicks her in the head.

McKenzie follows up with a slingshot face buster on Dashwood for a near fall, McKenzie traps Dashwood in the corner while choking her. McKenzie drops Dashwood before kicking her in the back and reapplying a chin lock, Dashwood fights back and she eventually drops McKenzie with a clothesline. McKenzie and Dashwood have a striking exchange before Dashwood drops McKenzie with some clotheslines, Dashwood then hits McKenzie with a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Dashwood follows up by hitting McKenzie with a Taste Of Tenille for a near fall, McKenzie recovers and she rolls up Dashwood for a near fall. McKenzie misses her stunner attempt and Dashwood hits her with a Spotlight Kick for a three count.

Winner: Tenille Dashwood

- Joey Janela makes his way to the ring and he gets a microphone, Janela mocks koala bears because they are not actually bears. Janela says he was told by the promoter that his original opponent won’t be here tonight, Janela then issues an open challenge and it is answered by JXT.

Joey Janela vs. JXT

The match begins with Janela getting JXT into a side headlock, JXT gets free and he wrenches on the arm of Janela until Janela gets to the ropes. Janela again gets JXT into a headlock before dropping him with a shoulder tackle, JXT sits up and Janela kicks him in the head. JXT recovers and he nails Janela with a spine buster followed by a super kick, JXT gets Janela to the ring apron and they trade strikes. Janela ends the exchange by nailing JXT with a death valley driver on the ring apron, Janela then grabs JXT and he sends him over the guardrails. Janela looks for a suplex and JXT counters with his own suplex on the arena floor, Janela gets back in the ring and he trades strikes with JXT. Janela ends the exchange by poking JXT in the eyes, JXT recovers and he nails Janela with a DDT. Janela nails a charging JXT with a boot to the face before going to the middle rope, JXT recovers and he takes Janela down with a rana. JXT goes for The Retweet and Janela escapes to trade more strikes with him, Janela then hits JXT with a release German suplex. 

JXT recovers and he nails Janela with a super kick before eating a clothesline, JXT escapes the grasp of Janela to land a modified falcon arrow followed by a super kick. JXT sets up for The Retweet again and Janela counters with a suplex, Janela and JXT have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Janela gets JXT seated on the top rope and he follows him up there, Janela then hits JXT with a superplex before landing a piledriver for a near fall. Janela leaves the ring and he returns with a door, Janela sets the door up in the corner and JXT needs three spears to finally put Janela through the door. Janela gets up and he nails JXT with a death valley driver for a near fall, Janela leaves the ring and he again returns with a door as well as a few steel chairs. Janela sets the door up on the chairs before seating JXT on the top rope, Janela climbs the ropes and JXT gets free to power bomb Janela through the door. JXT then hits Janela with The Retweet for a near fall, JXT looks for another hold and Janela fights back by landing a series of strikes.

Janela follows up by hitting JXT with a suplex onto a steel chair, Janela then hits JXT with a package piledriver for a near fall. Janela puts a door on top of JXT before landing a top rope double stomp for another near fall, Janela grabs a piece of the broken door and he breaks it over the head of JXT. Janela and JXT have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Janela cracks JXT with a super kick from out of nowhere for a three count.

Winner: Joey Janela

After the match, Joey Janela gets the microphone and he reveals that JXT competed against him while dealing with a serious knee injury.

Alex Zayne vs. Trey Miguel

The match begins with Zayne attempting a dive against Miguel before the bell sounds, Miguel goes with a diving tornado DDT on the arena floor and Zayne catches him before suplexing him on the ring apron. Zayne follows Miguel around the ringside area while landing a few strikes, Zayne then sends Miguel into the guardrail and Miguel slides under it. Miguel then hits Zayne with a forearm strike while leaping off the guardrail, Miguel hits Zayne with a few strikes before Zayne leaps off the guardrail to land a side effect on Miguel. Zayne follows up by tossing Miguel over the guardrail and into the crowd, Zayne also goes into the crowd and he kicks Miguel right in the ass. Zayne looks for a suplex and Miguel counters with a stunner on the arena floor, Miguel goes up the bleachers and he leaps off the hit Zayne with a rana. Miguel gets up and he cracks Zayne with some more strikes, Zayne recovers and he sends Miguel into the guardrail. Miguel then leaps over the guardrail to hit Zayne with a destroyer on the arena floor, Zayne gets Miguel in the ring and the ref finally rings the bell to make the match official. 

Zayne and Miguel have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Miguel ends the exchange by nailing Zayne with an enziguri. Zayne recovers to hit Miguel with a knee strike followed by a spinning leg drop for a near fall, Miguel gets free of Zayne before dropping him and landing a double stomp for a near fall. Zayne recovers to hit Miguel with a back elbow strike, Zayne places Miguel on the top turnbuckle and he follows him up there. Zayne gets shoved off and he returns to hit Miguel with a rana, Zayne then spikes Miguel right on his face for a near fall. Zayne looks for a power bomb and Miguel defends against it, Miguel hits Zayne with a head kick before landing a Pain Thriller for a near fall. Miguel goes to the top rope and Zayne meets him up there, Miguel gets free and he nails Zayne with a super kick followed by a 619. Zayne avoids the follow up leap from Miguel before landing a Taco Driver for a three count.

Winner: Alex Zayne

WSW World Tag Team Championships: The Flippin’ Machines (Brian Cage & Flip Gordon) (c) vs. The Natural Classics (Tome & Stevie Filip)

The match begins with Gordon and Tome working over each other's arms, Gordon gets Tome down before applying a headlock to him. Tome gets free and he wrenches away on the arm of Gordon, Gordon gets free and he backs Tome into the corner before landing some strikes. Gordon then hits Tome with a penalty kick followed by a twisting splash for a near fall, Gordon backs Tome into the corner while landing a bunch of chops. Stevie interferes and that allows Tome to knock Gordon out of the ring, Stevie works over Gordon while Cage argues with the referee. Gordon fights back and Tome drops him before tagging Stevie in, The Natural Classics double team Gordon for a near fall. Stevie sends Gordon out of the ring and Tome works him over before Stevie gets him back in the ring, Tome tags in and he hits Gordon with a draping DDT. Tome keeps Gordon down while stomping away on his arm, Stevie tags in and he stomps away on a downed Gordon. The Natural Classics again double team Gordon before Tome lands a suplex on him, Tome stomps away on Gordon while Cage argues with the ref.

Stevie tags in and Gordon attacks him with some chops, Stevie recovers and he drops Gordon with a hard Irish whip into the corner. Tome tags in and Gordon lays out both opponents, Tome prevents Cage from tagging Gordon into the match. Gordon nails both opponents with a variety of kicks before tagging Cage in, Cage quickly starts cleaning house against both opponents. Cage continues working over both opponents before getting a near fall with a roll up on Tome, Cage then nails Tome with a spine buster. Gordon hits the ring and he nails Stevie with a springboard dropkick, Cage the propels Gordon over the top rope and onto both opponents, Cage superplexes Tome back in the ring to get a near fall on a pin attempt. Stevie returns and he gets Gordon out of the ring, The Natural Classics both make it into the ring to double team Cage for a near fall. The Natural Classics look for a double destroyer and Cage counters with a double Alabama slam, Gordon tags in and he nails Stevie with a few strikes.

Gordon then hits Stevie with a springboard super kick, Gordon drops Stevie with an inverted Finlay Roll. Gordon drops Toms as well before landing a moonsault on both opponents for a near fall, Cage tags back in and he nails Stevie with an assisted F-5 for a near fall. Tome returns and he knocks Gordon out of the ring, The Natural Classics hit Cage with an air raid clash and a frog splash for another near fall. The Natural Classics then hit Cage with a plethora of super kicks, Cage recovers and he nails Tome with a super kick before landing a knee strike on Stevie. Gordon tags in after a buckle bomb from Cage on Tome, Gordon and Cage hit Tome with their finisher for a three count.

Winners: The Flippin’ Machines (Brian Cage & Flip Gordon), still your WSW World Tag Team Champions

- Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green make their way to the ring, Cardona apologizes for not being able to compete on the tour due to his arm injury. Cardona announces that he and Green will be back in Australia in 2023, Cardona says he and Green hate Australia. Cardona says the only reason they are returning is so both of them can capture gold, Green promises to win the women’s title tonight. Green says Taya Valkyrie has been stalking her since her birth, Green claims that Valkyrie is following her throughout her wrestling career. Valkyrie interrupts the couple and she says that Green has been stalking her, Valkyrie then brings out WSW World Champion Johnny Downunder to be in her corner.

WSW Women’s Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) w/Johnny Downunder vs. Chelsea Green w/Matt Cardona

The match begins with Green attacking Valkyrie before the bell rings, Valkyrie fights back and she nails Green with some chops in the corner. Valkyrie sends Green into another corner before dropping her with a clothesline, Valkyrie follows up by hitting Green with a running butt smash and a running double knee strike for a near fall. Valkyrie traps Green in the ropes before landing a sliding snap German suplex, Valkyrie drags Green to the ring apron before landing multiple knee strikes for a near fall. Valkyrie looks to charge at Green and Cardona grabs her legs, Green nails a distracted Valkyrie with a kick for a near fall. Green sends Valkyrie into the corner before landing a curb stomp into the bottom turnbuckle, Valkyrie blocks a suplex attempt and Green slaps her in the face before finally landing the suplex for a near fall. Valkyrie goes to the ring apron and Green follows her out there to have a striking exchange, Green ends the exchange by nailing Valkyrie with a DDT on the ring apron. Green follows Valkyrie to the arena floor to land a headbutt, Valkyrie recovers and she sends Green into the guardrail.

Valkyrie traps Green by the guardrail before stomping away on her, Valkyrie charges at Green and she crashes into the guardrail as Green gets out of the way. Green gets Valkyrie in the ring to get a near fall on a pin attempt, Green keeps Valkyrie down while landing a basement drop kick and multiple stomps. Green keeps Valkyrie down further while pulling back on both arms, Valkyrie gets free and Green nails her with an enziguri. Valkyrie recovers and she lays out Green with a spear, Valkyrie and Green have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Valkyrie ends the exchange by hitting Green with a clothesline for a near fall, Valkyrie drops Green again before landing a double stomp for a near fall. Green fights back and she nails Valkyrie with a missile drop kick, Green follows up by hitting Valkyrie with a destroyer for a near fall. Green looks for the unprettier and Valkyrie gets free before accidentally spearing the referee, Valkyrie then hits Green with a package piledriver.

Cardona hits the ring and Downunder shoots him with the drip stick, Valkyrie nails Cardona with a low blow before sending him out of the ring. Valkyrie hits Green with a knee strike followed by the Road To Valhalla for a three count.

Winner: Taya Valkyrie w/Johnny Downunder, still your WSW Women’s Champion
