By Cory Strode on 2022-06-24 23:03:00

It’s Friday, and AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite in Milwaukee WI at the UW Milwaukee Panther arena. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Chris Jericho.

Andrade El Idolo vs Rey Fenix

They lock up collar and elbow, and go right to the ropes with a clean break. The second lock up is where Andrade and Rey trade arm bars and then head locks. When Rey goes to the ropes, they run the ropes, ending with a leaping Hurricanrana and the Andrade takes Rey down right after. They then trade kicks in the ring. Andrade ends it with a series of three suplexes. Fenix is able to hit a knee while being lifted and then hits his own three suplexes.

Rey goes to the top and Andrade rolls out of the ring. Fenix leaps onto him on the floor with a tuck and roll leap. They go into the ring and Fenix gets a waist lock German for a two count. Fenix goes to the top and Andrade shoves him from the top to the floor as we go picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Andrade slams Fenix to the mat and goes to the top. Fenix climbs to the top as well, and after Andrade is able to strike him, he then stomps onto Fenix. He covers Fenix for two as Fenix grabs the rope for the break. Andrade starts stomping into him, but when he tries for a charge, Fenix hits a pump kick and a double stomp and goes for a cutter, that Andrade stops. Fenix hits a drop kick from the top.

Fenix then hits a rolling cutter into a two count. Fenix goes for a frog splash from the top, and Andrade gets his knees up and then covers Fenix for a two count. They get to their feet and trade strikes. Fenix shoves Andrade to the ropes and hits a series of kicks. Fenix goes to walk to Andrade for a kick and Andrade trips him and puts him on the apron. Andrade tries for a running knee, but Fenix dodges and Andrade’s knees go into the ring post. Fenix leaps onto him on the outside and we go picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Fenix and Andrade are on the top and Fenix hits a Spanish Fly from the top, and when Fenix covers, Andrade puts a foot on the ropes. Fenix pulls himself to a corner and as the Ref is checking Fenix, Andrade is handed a tablet. When Andrade goes to hit Fenix with it, the Ref sees it and takes it away. As she is taking it out of the ring, Andrade goes for a low blow, and Fenix blocks it, since Andrade used that on him at the battle royal. Andrade hits a dropkick to Fenix’s knee. Andrade tries for a figure four and Fenix escapes and hits a kick from leaping off the ropes causing Andrade to roll to the outside.

Fenix hits a tope on Andrade on the floor and the two assistants start fighting the ring. From the back, Rush comes from the back, kicks Fenix is the yam bag and goes to the back. Andrade tosses Fenix in the ring and hits El Idolo for the pin and the three count.

Winner: Andrade El Idolo

After the match, Andrade and Rush put on La Facción Ingobernable t-shirts. They attack Fenix and rip off his mask, but Penta runs from the back with his shovel to chase them off.

Eddie Kingston then cuts a promo in the back telling people to order Forbidden Door, but he only cares about tasting Chris Jericho’s blood at blood and guts next week. Which Jericho references how sick that is for the rest of the show.

Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez vs Sierra and Laynie Luck

The announcers put over that while Deeb and Martinez have been tagging for a while, there has been a lot of oneupsmanship between the two of them.

The only question is how long the match will last. The answer is about three minutes. Martinez bumps into Deeb toward the end of the match, and they get the win with Martinez getting the Brass City Sleeper and Deeb getting the Serenity lock.

Winners: Serena Deeb and Mercedes Martinez

After the match, Deeb and Martinez have words over the bump.

In the back, Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee talk about their match at Forbidden Door. Lee says they aren’t on the same page yet but they can get there.

Hook vs DKC (from New Japan)

No Danhausen with Hook tonight.

Hook locks on a leg bar and DKC makes it to the ropes for a break. DKC gets in a strike, but Hook tosses him to the corner and lights him up. DKC is able to get in some chops, but when Hook goes to the center of the ring, the chops no longer bother him. He hits a high overhead throw. He then starts with the cross face strikes. Redrum is locked on and it’s over.

Your winner: Hook

Cash Wheeler and Jeff Cobb have their main event interview with Mark Henry.

Caprice Coleman joins the commentary table.

Cash Wheeler vs Jeff Cobb

They lock up collar and elbow and Cobb is able to lift Cash and then throw him off into the ropes. They run the ropes and when Cash runs into Cobb, Cobb ignores it and then brushes off his shoulder. Cash goes to a headlock and Cobb escapes and reverses it. They trade holds until Cobb takes Cash down. They trade holds, run the ropes and Cobb drops Cash across the ropes and then when they run again, Cobb drops Cash again and we go picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Cobb holds Cash on his shoulder , but Cash escapes and locks in a sleep while on Cobb’s back. Cobb goes to the corner and tries to knock him off, but Cash repositions and stays on until Cobb is finally able to slam into the corner with Cash on his back.

They throw hands in the middle of the ring, and Cobb is able to lay in most of the damage. Cash tries for a back slide and Cobb escapes. Cash starts in with uppercuts and then hits a chop block on Cobb. Cobb rolls to the outside and Cash leaps onto him on the floor. Cobb is tossed into the ring and Cash starts to go up top and Cobb stops him. They fight on the turnbuckle and Cash is able to get a sunset flip power bomb and covers for a two count.

REALLY impressive by Cash.

Cash and Cobb throw hands again. Cash tries for a swinging DDT but Cobb tosses him off. Cobb tries for Tour of the Islands slam and Cash is able to reverse it and turn it into a roll up for a two count. Cobb goes for a Doctor Bomb, but Cash reverses for another two count. Cash tries for a power bomb, but Cobb hits a back drop and a German suplex. Cobb is able to hit Tour of the Islands and covers for a three count.

Winner: Jeff Cobb

Dax attacks Great O Khan on his way to the ring, and then the locker room empties as we are desperately out of time!
