AEW DYNAMITE BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2022-06-22 20:39:00

It’s Wednesday, and AEW Dynamite is in Milwaukee WI at the UW Milwaukee Panther arena. Our commentary team is Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone.

Bryan Danielson starts with Tony Schiavone. He goes over how it’s a great week to be a professional wrestling fan with Forbidden Door and then next Wednesday is Blood and Guts. He was looking forward to facing Zack Saber Jr., and he wasn’t the only one. He says he is not cleared to wrestle this week, but he’s fine and will be able to come back. The good news is that Eddie Kingston says he is a judgmental pr*ck, and he is, so he has high standards. He has found the one person to take his place at Forbidden Door and Blood and Guts.

He then reminds us he came from the bad guy tunnel so he won’t tell us tonight.

Zack Sabre Jr comes out.

We then get a promo from Jon Moxley in the back talking about how he will see if the JAS can survive against him and his team. He then says that this Sunday he faces Tanahashi, who may be the best wrestler ever born.

Orange Cassidy and Roppongi Vice vs Will Osprey and Aussie Open

Rocky Romero and Kyle Fletcher start off, they lock up and Rocky is a full head shorter than Kyle. Rocky gets in a series of kicks and strikes and Trent Beretta tags in, and they double team Kyle to take him down. Mark Davis is able to tag in and they trade blows with Davis getting a big boot and Trent getting a back suplex.

Cassidy calls for the tag. Cassidy does his pockets bit and then dodges and hits his shotgun drop kick. Rocky tags in and hits his forever clotheslines. All six men are in the ring and then fighting on the outside as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Trent has takes out Aussie Open and then tags in Cassidy who hits the soft kicks. He then hits a double Hurricanrana and then takes each member out with a flying move. He then calls for Will Ospreay. All Three of Cassidy’s team leaps onto Ospreay’s team on the floor. After some multi man stuff, it’s Cassidy and Ospreay, who will be facing each other Sunday. Cassidy gets the Stundog Millionaire. Cassidy and Ospreay tag out to Romero and Davis. After Romero gets some flashy moves, Aussie Open start with double teaming.

Everyone gets to get in an attack one at a time. Davis gets a pile driver for a two count with Cassidy breaking it up. We get more multiple man moves and the match ends with Cassidy getting a tag anmd a Superman Punch on Fletcher for the three count and the win.

Winners: Orange Cassidy and Roppongi Vice.

United Empire gathers to attack, and FTR comes out to even the odds.

We go to the back to Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh. Jay says he will beat Samoa Joe when he comes back to work so he can win the Ring of Honor TV Championship. And if he’s not back in time, Joe will have to vacate the title.

They keep cutting Excalibur Off as his throws to commerical.

It’s now time for Christian Cage to explain that he’s still mad about Jungle Boy eliminating him from the Battle Royal ages ago. OK, I don’t know if that’s what they will use, but if they do, it works at making Cage a REALLY sneaky bastard. And Heel Christian is 100 times better that babyface Christian.

The crowd start booing and Cage says he can stand there all night until they shut up. He learns into telling them to be quiet so he can talk. Yes! It is the casino battle royal!!! Cage says he was upset that the crowd cheered when he was eliminated. When then see small children swearing in a chant to Cage.

He goes after the fans on social media. He then says he latched on the Jurassic Express for the bonuses. He says if people want to make his money, they need to have matches that people remember. He then says he will recoup that money from Jungle Boy and he saw Jungle Boy doesn’t have the killer instinct.

Tony shows the footage from after the show where Cage told JB’s mom she raised a piece of crap. He said she gave her a chance to apologize to him for JB being born. He also thinks JB’s mom wanted HIM to be JB’s father. But JB’s father is Dead.

The crowd tears into him verbally. Cage tells him to stay gone, and JB’s music starts.

Luchasaurus comes out and Cage says he was trying to talk to him. Luchasaurus grabs him and starts choking. Cage tells him to remember what happened to Marco. He says Luchasaurus like a son to him. He then tells Luchasaurus they need to talk is private and Cage hugs him.

As Luchasaurus leaves with him, Cage has a grin on his face.

We get a video recap of Sting’s return.

The Young Bucks and Kyle O’Reilly are in the back to talk about how they have the Tag Team titles again. They say they will be at Forbidden Door, and Kyle announces their match of Bullet Club vs Sting’s group.

And in the arena. The lights go out.

Malakai Black vs Penta Oscuro in an All Atlantic Championship Qualifying match.

They start by throwing hands. Penta pulls Black off the apron, and then leaps onto him. They go back to the ring. The work the corners until Penta hits a back stabber for a two count. Black then rolls him up for a two count. They move to brawl outside the ring and we go to picture in picture. They are working stiff in their match, lots of hard hitting work.

When they return in full screen, Penta hits a series of clotheslines, a casadora and a cross body. They fight on the apron and Penta can’t pick up Black. The go into the ring and Penta is able to hit a rolling cutter for a two count. Black it put up top, he escapes and sweeps Penta’s leg. Black hits a rising knee strike, and then leaps onto Penta on the floor.

Black rolls Penta into the ring, hits a double foot stomp and covers for the two. They fight into the corner again, and Penta hits an avalanche fear factor from the second rope. Both men are too beat up to get a cover. Penta crawls to Black for a two count and Black gets a foot on the rope.

Penta tries for the Made in Japan, but his back gives out. Black hits a back heel kick and covers for the three count and the win.

Winner: Malakai Black.

Pac comes to the ring to make sure Black doesn’t attack afterward. We get Miro on the screen giving a promo about how he willl redeem them all at Forbidden Door.

We get a quick video package from Wardlow wanting the TNT title.

Adam Cole joins commentary.

Adam Page vs Silas Young

I Love Silas Young and his “last real man” gimmick.

They lock up and trade wrist locks. They trade headlocks and then one counts after leg sweeps. They then trade chops in the corner. They move to the middle fo the ring to trade chops and Silas goes for the eyes. Silas goes to the outside and Page follows him and takes him down with a clothesline and then a moonsault as we go to picture in picture.

When we return, Page hits a superplex from the top. They recover at the same time and start throwing hands. Page is able to toss Silas over his head and kips up. They fight in the corner and Page is able to hit a lariat and then a slingshot over the top onto Silas. Silas comes into the ring and Page hits a clothesline from the top for a two count.

Tony is getting in a lot of shots at Cole on Commentary.

Silas gets a moonsault from the top, but Page is able to hit a clothesline and then a buckshot lariat for the three.

Winner: Adam Page

Cole shouts it’s time for story time with Adam Cole, but Jay White cuts him off and says he owes an explanation. White says he is reproducible for making Forbidden Door as big as it can be so it can’t be Cole. Because Cole lost of Page twice.

Jay White then says everyone si dying to know who he will face at Forbidden Door for the IWGP Heavyweight title. It will nto be Adam Page, and Page knocks the mic from his hands and Page takes out White and Cole until Cole hits a low blow on Page. White starts beating down Page, and Cole readies to attack with the title.

White sees him, but before they can do anything Kazuchika Okada is here! He and Page drive off White and Cole.

In the back, Tony says that Red Velvet is injured. Jade Cargill’s team says they are looking for a new Baddie via Twitter.

Chris Jericho and Lance Archer vs Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi

Mox and Tanahashi rush the ring and all four men start brawling. Tanahashi and Archer fight in the ring, Mox and Jericho fight on the outside. Archer hits a full nelson slam on Tanahashi. Jericho tags in and works over Tanahashi. Tanahashi fights his way out of the corner and then tags in Mox.

Mox hits the hammer and anvil elbows. He then bites Jericho. He tosses Jericho out of the ring and beats him down on the outside. Mox then tosses him into the ring. Sammy tries to stop Mox, and Mox kicks him away, but Jericho is able to take advantage of it. Archer is tagged in and takes three of Mox’s forearms and then pounces him across the ring as we go picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Jericho is mocking the prone Mox. Mox gets up and they trade chops. Jericho knocks Mox down and hits a Lion Sault. Mox is able to recover first and he tags in Tanahashi who cleans house. Tanahashi hit a senton for a two count. Tanahashi goes fo a sling brade and Jericho reverses for the walls, but he can’t lock it on. Jericho covers Tanahashi, and Mox breaks it up and then then Mox goes after Archer on the floor.

Tanahashi throw hands in the middle of the ring and Tanahashi stops Jericho with a leaping knee. Tanahashi hits the High Fly Flow, and Jericho rolls through for a Boston Crab. Mox is able to come in and hits a cutter on Jericho. Archer takes out Mox and Tanahashi takes out Archer. All four men are down. Mox goes to the corner and Tanahashi tags him in. Mox tries to take down Archer, and when Mox is able to escape the Black Out, he hits the paradigm shift. Mox tags in Tanahashi who hits the High Fly Flow on Archer for the pin and the three count.

Winners: Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi

Eddie Kingston runs to the ring and attacks Jericho. Yuta joins him and they go after Sammy Geuvara and Jericho.

Minoru Suzuki comes to the ring and goes after Yuta. More people run to the ring and we can’t keep track of everyone. Referees come to the ring and it’s chaos, it’s chaos everyone!!

In the ring, Mox and Tanahashi are still face to face, jacking their jaws.
