Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is reporting the 7/31 Jim Crockett Promotions-branded event featuring what has been billed as Ric Flair's Final Match is moving to a larger venue.
The PPV, originally slated for the Nashville Fairgrounds, is being moved to the 9,000-seat Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
This would be the same venue that hosted the 1989 NWA Wrestlewar' 89 - Music City Showdown PPV, headlined by the instantly classic Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat match that climaxed their feud for the NWA World Title, which was followed by Terry Funk attacking Flair and piledriving him on a table. The venue has hosted a number of other professional wrestling events including the second WWF In Your House PPV, WCW Starrcade '94, several NWA: TNA PPVs, several Ring of Honor PPVs and a number of AEW, WWF, and WCW TV tapings.
Flair is expected to compete in a tag team bout at the PPV.
