It’s a NICE night in Worcester for wrestling! The 23rd episode of Wrestling Open goes down this evening and we have a “Rikers Island Riot” on the card tonight. I have no idea what it is supposed to be but I bet it will be a 5-star deathmatch classic like the last couple of weeks have been. But more importantly, Marcus Mathers will challenge Max Caster for his briefcase full of money! But first we have a LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER for the Saturn & Kronus Eliminator Tournament!

Spotlight Match: Randy Rivera & Gal Barkay vs Austin Luke & Reid Walker

The H20 boys get a second shot at the tournament. Their chances are good as Armani Kayos isn’t in Barkay/Rivera’s corner today….but I was wrong last week so I bet on nothing except personal misery. Walker frustrating Rivera early but gets caught out of the air into a delay vertical suplex. Barkay slingshots Walker in for a double superkick. Austin Luke is willing his partner to stay in it but Barkay and Rivera are just dominating right now. Roll through! Tag to Luke! Axe kick to the back of Rivera! Rivera slips and forearms to the back of the head. Miscommunication, Rivera sent to the floor and Luke rolls up Barkay with a bridge for three! H20 is in the tournament!!!

Winners: Team H20

Randy Rivera is NOT HAPPY with Barkay for costing them this win. But that was then! NOW we’re liiiiiiiiive on IWTV! Rich Palladino is your announcer! Paul Crockett is your commentator! Let’s goooooo! 

Match 1: Smart Mark Sterling vs CPA

Look, you know what this match is. It’s gonna be  stupid and it’s going to be great. Shirts dress come off and we pop for that. Sterling puts on as many neck braces as CPA takes off. Sterling doesn’t want to have to put on a fourth neck brace and ambushes CPA instead. CPA takes a long beating but rips off another shirt and fires up! Form 619 connects after he removed allllllllll the neck braces! Sterling drops, CPA hits a rude awakening (he should call this the April 15th). He goes to crunch the numbers, Sterling grabs at the ref and back kicks a low blow for the win. The crowd hates him and refers to his win as being of the excrement of cows. 

Winner: Mark Sterling

Match 2: Mortar vs Davienne 

It’s been a few since we’ve seen Davienne but the crowd remembered their dollars for Davi. Mortar pounces with a body splash and unloads on her. Big lariat and he drops huge punches and kicks. Mortar drags her to the floor and introduces her to the hard wood of Worcester and choked with a shirt. She avoids getting dropped to the stairs and hits a spear! Mortar is staggered! Chokeslam! Mortar out at two! Mortar with the ref distracted, decks Davienne with a closed fist and stacks her up for the three!

Winner: Mortar

Match 3: JCruz vs Bryce Donovan

Brick City and Shook are still rolling towards the tournament! Donovan keeps Cruz on the defensive until he gets a cheap shot to the side of the head. He rakes the eyes and Germans the one lunged Angel for two. Bryce slips a slam and drops Cruz. Jumping elbow drop for two! Cruz in the tree of woe! Corner dropkick! Cruz kicks out! Big chain of reversals, Bryce hits the black hole slam! Cruz kicks out but Donovan wraps up a head and arm choke for the tap out!

Winner: Bryce Donovan 

Match 4: Victor Chase vs Bobby Orlando (w/ Bobby Jr) 

It’s telling their partners aren’t out here. It’s a fair fight tonight…maybe. It’s also just WILD how over Bobby Orlando is. Victor is no slouch but he’s getting blasted from corner to corner, big slam from Bobby for two! Bobby slams abound. He goes for the Dabbing elbow drop but Mark Sterling runs out and interferes. Chase takes Bobby off the top with and air raid crash for the win! 

Winner: Victor Chase

Match 5: JGeorge vs Rex Lawless

JGeorge is looking to direct another monster movie, I see. Well, really he’s looking to dodge and stay out of Rex’s hands….which he fails to do. He double chops the big man and gets tossed to the buckles. He tries throwing hands at Rex but he just gets yeeted. Rex gets caught on the second and JGeorge hits a double leg drop. Kick to the head. Scissor kick! Rex kicks out! Drop toe hold and JGeorge hops on top to choke him out…Rex powers out, pop up right hand and a chokebomb! CUT!

Winner: Rex Lawless

Match 6: “World Class” Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) vs “The Slamburgler” Rob Chase (Rikers Island Riot Match)

Apparently this FIGHT involves a cinder block. Well it involves a cinder block being present. Nearby. Chase gets a good pop but eats a fast dropkick and piledriver. Thomas pulls the pin and hits a chokeslam to put a cherry on this match.

Winner: Channing Thomas

Bakabella gives an impassioned promo about this Sunday’s Please Come Back in Foxboro. Bakabella points out that Wrestling Open’s roster has been here for 23 weeks straight. Where HAS the Beyond roster been? “Coming to steal a payday from Drew Cordeiro but would take $50 from a place in New Jersey in a heartbeat”. Woooooooooooo Sidney is shootin’ spicy tonight  and I think he just turned Babyface to this crowd again. Lol.

Match 7: Gabriel Skye vs “The Prize” Alec Price

They are pretty even at the start, Price can hang with Skye’s flippy boy stylings. High knees connect but Skye’s ready for the third. Huge falcon arrow for one! Price fighting back hard but Skye can brawl too! Half and half from Price! Kick out! Price goes for the Suprize but Skye catches him. High kick! Price hits the reverse DVD to the buckles and the Suprize kick fights the job! A hot 6 minutes, this was a lot of fun. 

Winner: Alec Price

The crowd starts chanting “F*** Biff”, ahead of Price’s match with Busick this Sunday. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Ray Jaz is here and Tony Vincita is out this week. He needs some partners who can be Jersey Legends…so the Even Stevens decide to join him. 

Match 8: “The Shore Thing” Ray Jaz & Even Stevens (Steven Azure & Steven Somerset) vs Dustin “Flash” Waller & The Haven (Shawn Knyte & Jay Onyx) 

Ray Jaz hangs on the apron while Waller & Haven make the Even Stevens look like goobers. Jaz saves Somerset from a whip and Knyte starts taking a shore style stomp out. Stevens tag in, straight jacket drop for two. Huge back suplex from Jaz. Knyte dodges, Jaz posts himself! Kick off tag to Waller! Flash in hot against the Stevens. Jaz baits Waller into a near rollup. Onyx tricks Jaz to the floor, Haven drop Somerset with a cutter slam combo for the win! Ray Jaz loses!!!!!

Winners: Dustin Waller & The Haven

It’s Stetson Ranch time and Steven knows who his partner is this week. The Shot Caller.

Match 9: The Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Brett Ryan Gosling w/ his trusty steed Clip Clop) & Pedro Dones vs Teddy Goodz, Little Mean Kathleen & Ichiban

Pedro Dones has to deal with the high energy of number one at the start. He wants LMK though…and she never backs down from a fight. BRG in but Ichiban runs him to the corner, LMK with the stomps and Flavor Bomb for two! Stetson takes over and lays some heavy boots to Kathleen. Dones in to pick her apart. Dones taunting Goodz as they work to break her back apart. Stetson miscalculates! LMK hits the Dudley dog! Tag to Goodz! Dones avoids the tag, Goodz runs wild on BRG! So many elbows! Dones is furious! BRG stuns Goodz but dives into a cutter. Stetson catches LMK but Ichiban dropkicks her over him. Crossbody to the floor! Goodz hits the backpack stunner to BRG and Dones hesitates to make the save and get in striking range of Goodz. BRG takes the L!

Winners: Goodz, LMK & Ichiban

Match 10: “The Timeless One” Crowbar & Percival vs The Wild Dogs (Johnny Rivera & Ray Pittman) (Eliminator Tournament Qualifier)

Oh my poor dogs aren’t gonna make the bracket after all. Pittman gets decked by Crowbar. Crowbar ducks a leg lariat, northern lights and a code breaker for two! Pittman out of the corner with a spine buster! Crowbar kicks out! Rivera in, big slam to the Timeless One! Percival drops the rope and Rivera goes flying over. Percival throws Pittman out and press slams Crowbar onto the Wild Dogs! Percival tosses Rivera across the ring. Crowbar drapes him, Percival with the leg lariat. Crowbar with an apron legdrop! Rivera getting battered on the corner…roars out with a clothesline! Enziguri! Pittman tags in and drops Percival off the apron! Crossbody for two! High crossbody for another close call! Bulldog from Pittman! Rivera off the second! Percival makes the save! He tags in, sidewalk slam to Rivera. Moonsault assist by Crowbar and a splash from Percival. Pittman in hard, throwing hands but Percival shrugs him off! Percival sent out, Pittman flies out to the big man! Crowbar tries a rollup on Rivera but he gets reversed. RIVERA GETS THE THREE ON CROWBAR!!! The Wild Dogs win!!!! I’m so happy to have been wrong here! This match was really fun and way more intense than I think anyone expected.

Winners: The Wild Dogs

Main Event: “The Young Prodigy” Marcus Mathers vs “Platinum” Max Caster (Platinum 10k Challenge)

Caster applauds Marcus for having the bravery to call him out…but he takes umbrage with Mathers not shaking his hand in the back. Wrestling traditions are weird, yo. All Mathers has to do is last ten minutes with Caster. Max wants that handshake now but Mathers doesn’t trust it. FAIR. Slap to Platinum Max, Mathers being wildly evasive…caster thinks he caught him but gets arm dragged to the buckles. Mathers sends him to the floor, Suicide dive! Kick off the apron! Max dropkicks Marcus out of the air trying a crossbody! Marcus tries to hang in there, Max with a hard dragon screw for two! Big back elbow. Mathers is struggling for air but kicks out of a figure four attempt. Enziguri! We’re at the five minutes mark, Mathers is halfway there! Max to the floor, Mathers

Flies again! Running boot to the back of the head! Bomb out the corner for two! Mather Frogsplash…eats knees! Caster wraps up the figure four! Seven minutes down! Mathers gets the ropes. Hard shot to the face! Mathers fires up on it! He’s throwing hands, two minutes remain! Superkick to Max! Ref pulls Marcus off…Poke to the eye! Huge lariat by Caster! Kick out….right back to the figure four! One minute to go! Max breaks the hold and hits the mic drop! He goes for the pin, Marcus with a crucifix pin…Caster reverses it and gets the three with 30 seconds left!

Winner: Max Caster

Max Caster says no one on the indies REALLY wants his money. Ichiban is out. He wants to be 10,001. Caster says they can do this match…THIS SUNDAY IN FOXBORO. Ichiban says “Ichiban Number One”. I believe that means “yes”! Fantastic match. Great show top to bottom!

Drew Cordeiro is out here to talk about how Wrestling Open has gained a groundswell of support in only 23 weeks, far ahead of the timeline it took Beyond to make noise on the scene. This Sunday is extremely important. Beyond vs Wrestling Open. DC wants THIS energy, Worcester’s energy to come to Foxboro. This crowd is feeling it. This is the future of professional wrestling. He brings out Alec price to draw a raffle ticket! But first some words for Biff Busick. “F*** Biff. F*** Beyond. Wrestling Open is the Future” and with that, we pull a raffle ticket.
