It is Wednesday, and AEW Dynamite is in Independence MO at the Cable Dahmer Arena. Our commentary team is Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone.
Casino Battle Royal – Winner fights Jon Moxley for a spot at Forbidden Door
We start with Daniel Garcia, Eddie Kingston, Lance Archer, Tony Nese and Darby Allin.
Darby brings in his skateboard to go after Lance Archer, and then they go to the outside but not over the top rope. Kingston then come in and just start beating down Darby.
Next five are: Ricky Starks, Jake Hagar, Rey Fenix, Swerve Strickland, and Keith Lee.
A lot of people working in the corners and ropes trying to toss people out. Lee and Swerve get a nice little spotlight in this part of the match.
Keith Lee eliminates Tony Nese.
Lee and Archer face off and throw hands. Lee eliminates Archer.
The next five: John Silver, Takeshida, Max Caster, The Gunn Club.
They actually go picture in picture for the battle royal.
We come back to the last five, Powerhouse Hobbs, reDRagon, Darcy Allin, and Wheeler Yuta, back from New Japan.
LOTS of people in the ring, hard to follow anything going on, thankfully the announcers are walking us through everything.
Max Caster gets eliminated by Fenix.
Lee eliminates the Gunn Club, and then Swerve eliminates Lee when he’s not looking.
The Joker is Andrade El Idolo.
Hobbs eliminates Silver.
Eddie Kingston is eliminated and the camera doesn’t catch it.
They say Hagar eliuminated Kingston and then attacks him on the outside.
Takeshida is eliminated by Hobbs and Starks.
Dante Martin is leaps over the top rope going after Starks and is eliminated.
Starks is eliminated by Fenix.
Bobby Fish is eliminated by Darby.
Darby is eliminated by Swerve.
Swerve is eliminated by Andrade.
Yuta eliminates Hobbs.
The last four: Fenix, O’Reilly, Andrade and Yuta.
Andrade eliminated Fenix.
Everyone gets a moment to shine.
Andrade is eliminated when he is running at Yuta.

The battle royal became a fun match when it got down to four, and I wish it would have lasted longer.
Mox is in the back talking about how he’s been hunting big game in New Japan for three years. He says Kyle is in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong guy.
The commentators say CM Punk has had successful surgery today. They also announce the All Atlantic Championship, which will be an international championship with a tournament determining the four to be in the final match at Forbidden Door. Because Tony Loves Tournaments.
I do too, but they didn’t ask me.
Buddy Matthews vs Pac In a Tournament qualifying match
Buddy stalks Pac who doesn’t move until they lock up. They trade wrist locks. They run a quick series of reversals and takeovers. They run the ropes and trade shoulder blocks. Pac takes down Buddy with a head scissors and then thye go to the outside. They start to brawl and we go picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, they are fighting on the apron. Pac is able to get a spinning DDT through the ropes. These two are working STIFF. They throw hands in the middle of the ring. They move to kicks and neither gets the upper hand. Pac gets a two count, and Buddy is able to recover and the battle continues.
The announcers have now told us three times that Dynamite and Rampage are the top wrestling shows in England.
They move to fighting in the corner with Buddy on the top. Buddy tosses Pac off and hits a sunset flip and a Liger Bomb for a two count. Pac recovers and gets a poisonrana on Buddy. He goes to the top and hits the Black Arrow for the pin and the three count.
Winner: Pac
Fenix and Penta come tot he ring to celebrate.
House of Black comes to the stage to help Buddy up.
Eddie Kingston is in the back with a mic. He calls out Jake Hagar. GREAT one minute promo.
Trent Beretta is in the ring with a mic in street clothes. He said it’s Best Friends day and his friends aren’t with him. He brings up the match the Roppongi Vice didn’t win, but they didn’t lose, so he calls out FTR. FTR come to the ring in street clothes.
Cash says that they didn’t win or lose either. Dax says if it were up to them, they’d wrerstle, but Rocky Romero is in Japan. He says that Jeff Cobb and the Great O-Khan are the ones he should have a problem with.
Will Ospreay comes out. Other members of the United Empire rush the ring and all three beat down the AEW stars. Kyle Fletcher, Aaron Hanori, and Mark Davis are the members who have shown up. Well. That’s who I think it was, if I’m wrong, I’ll correct it.
William Regal tells reDragon and Adam Cole that going into the ring with Jon Moxley is dangerous and to think about his wife and friends. O’Reilly says he is here to fight the best and fight for the championship.
Cole joins commentary.
David Finlay vs Adam Page
They lock up and go into the ropes and end in the corner where they break and then lock back up. They run the ropes and Finlay hits a drop kick for a two count. They then trade wrist locks. They go back to running the ropes and Page hits a scoop slam and then a high boot.
They go to the outside when Page hits a leap onto Finlay from the ring, and then he takes the drink of a fan’s beer. They go into the ring and we go picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Finlay is stomping Page, and Page starts kicking back from the mat. Page is able to catch Finlay who tried a cross body, and tosses him backward. Page hits a pair of clotheslines and they trade strike. Page hits a leaping clothesline onto Finlay and then leaps onto Finlay on the floor.
Finlay is tossed into the ring and Page is able to hit a power bomb for a two count. Page had dropped his knee pad. Finley is able to get a back breaker and a two count. Finlay’s got a back eye from the fight so far. Finlay gets an inside cradle for a two count. Page and Finlay trade strikes and Page is able to hit the buckshot lariat and covers for the three.
Winner: Adam Page
Page has a mic. He says has a lot to say about the AEW world championship, but tonight is not the night. He says he’s probably not getting a title shot any time soon. He then says there’s more than one world championship in Professional Wrestling. He calls out the IWGP World Champion Okada.
Adam Cole says that Okada may not be champion, it may be Jay White, and that Page isn’t a champion any more. He says he won the Owen Hart championship and HE should get the shot at the IWGP Championship. He says that AEW is all about Adam Cole.
We go to a per-tape where Thunder Rosa issues a challenge to everyone. Marina Shafir shows and accepts the challenge.
In the ring, Tony is there to interview Wardlow. JR asks Who’s Next. For this young man.
Wardlow explains why he was not in the battle royal. He says CM Punk is the champion, so if he’s not beating him, he doesn’t want it yet. He tells Punk he will be waiting when he gets back. He then says he wants a different title. It’s a title he won three months ago, and he wants the TNT Title.
Scorpio Sky comes out and and charges to the ring, but Dan Lambert and Ethan Page comes from the back to stop him,. Wardlow says if Sky’s got a bad knee, he’ll wait until Sky is 110%.
We then see Mark Sterling with security that are suing him. He says he can face him in the court of law, or he can wrestle 20 security people in an elimination match.
We get a video from the Young Bucks talking about how great they did last week. Matt says they want their titles backj. Matt and Jeff come in and say since they beat them at the PPV, they should get a title shot. Christian and Jurassic Express come in and says they want their wins back and challenge both of them. He says it needs to be a ladder match, Jungle Boy does NOT look happy about it.
Thunder Rosa (AEW Women’s Champion) vs Marina Shafir
They lock up and Shafir tosses Rosa into the corner and starts to work her over, but Rosa is able to reverse it and get in a pair of holds. Shafir puts in a sleeper. Rosa escapes and is able to get Shafir into the corner for chops and strikes.
JR says, “I don’t want to say it’s awkward, it’s a clash of styles.”
Rosa is able to lay in strikes. Shafir tries for a suplex, but can’t get her over until her second attempt. Ouch. They go to picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Rosa hits a series of knees and a drop kick into Shafir’s back. Rosa hits a Northern Lights suplex for a two count. Shafir tries to set up for a pump handle suplex, realizes she’s not facing the camera and switches to do so before hitting the move. Rosa fights free with body shots and a Death Valley Driver for a two count.
Rosa hits a series of kicks and Shafir grabs her leg. Rosa escapes and is able to roll up Shafir for the three count.
Winner and still AEW Women’s Champion: Thunder Rosa
Shafir is still way too green for this spotlight.
Shafir attacks Rosa after the match and Toni Storm comes to the ring and takes out Shafir. Rosa then hits a scoop slam on Shafir. Toni picks up the belt and slowly hands it to Rosa.
Tony is in the back with Jade Cargill and her group to talk about Rampage. They challenge Kris Statlander to fight Red Velvet. Jade then tells Tony to cut the s#!t for no reason.
We get the rundown of matches for Rampage and the matches for Dynamite next week as Excalibur shows how fast he can read a cue card.
Jon Moxley vs Kyle O’Reilly
Kyle goes for kicks as the start to lock up. The move to mat wrestling and then into the ropes. They trade arm bars and Mox drops Kyle for a two count. They lock up after trying for strikes and Mox takes Kyle down with a hammer lock. Mox then snaps Kyle’s fingers.
That one always looks brutal.
They then trade grappling holds on the mat until Mox is able to grab the arms and start stomping. Mox puts his hands behind his back and allows Kyle to get in a few shots. They then trade shots in the middle of the ring. They work the corners with Kyle having the upper hand first and the Mox second. Kyle hits a Dragon Screw in the ropes and then hits a knee drop on Mox, who was tied up in the ropes. This takes up to fighting on the floor in picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Mox hits a suplex on Kyle and they both struggle to get up. They throw hands when they get up. Kyle moves to kicks. Mox hits a series of head butts. They go back to kicks and both men drop to the mat. Kyle goes for an arm breaker, but Mox locks in a sleeper. Kyle gets to the ropes and Mox has a bloody nose. Kyle got to the ropes with his teeth, so Mox kicks the rope. Mox hits a brutal clothesline.
Mos hits the hammer and anvil elbows and Kyle reveres it and starts his own blows. Mox reverses and hits more elbows. Mox hits a series of knees. Kyle does the same and both men are down. Mox is up first and hits a cutter. Mox sets up for the Gotch pile driver and Kyle locks in a triangle choke. They trade holds with Kyle locking in a leg lock. Mox escapes with a punch to the face.
Mox hits a pile driver for a two count. Both men are down and the crowd is cheering for Mox. They get to their feet and trade blows. Kyle hits a suplex and Mox rolls through and hits his own. They drop to the mat again, holding each other up. Mox is able to slap on a bulldog choke. He lets go to hit a series of knees and then a paradigm shift. He covers for the three count and Mox goes on to Forbidden Door.
Winner: Jon Moxley
