AEW announced the following details on how they will crown their Interim AEW Champion with CM Punk sidelined due to needing surgery after an injury suffered on this past Wednesday's Dynamite.
-The first competitor will be determined this Wednesday when the winner of a Battle Royal faces Jon Moxley to determine who advances to a title bout at The Forbidden Door PPV in Chicago.
-The second competitor will be determined at the 6/12 New Japan Pro Wrestling Dominion PPV where Hirooki Goto faces Hiroshi Tanahasi. The winner will advance to the Forbidden Door PPV.
The two finalists will battle at the 6/26 Forbidden Door PPV.
When Punk is medically cleared to return to action, he and the Interim Champion will battle to determine the Undisputed Champion.
