FULL AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2022-06-01 20:56:00

It's Wednesday Night! And we are live for AEW Dynamite in AEW's Los Angeles debut.  The city is very quiet considering the Lakers have been playing golf since early April and YOUR Boston Celtics are playing for their 18th championship

Tony Schiavone, Excalibur and Jim Ross are on the call.

AEW World Champion CM Punk & ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR vs. The Gunn Club & Max Caster w/Billy Gunn & Anthony Bowens

Caster's rap was fire. Amber Heard, Bret Hart and FTR's lack of TV time all got skewered.

Dax starts us off with Austin Gunn (I think, the announcers shouldn't assume we know). Hard lockup, shoulder tackle by Gunn and a big forearm by Dax. Cash tags in and hits a quick elbow.  Colton (confirmed by the announcers) comes in and, after a series of evasions, Cash nails a big backdrop. Gunn forces the action to his corner and tags in Caster. Arm twist by Cash and Punk tags in. Elbow by Punk. LA is very happy to see him.  Caster with an eye poke and stomps in the corner. Boot by Punk into a cross body. Cash tags in and hits an assisted 2nd rope powerslam for 2. Dax tags in and eats a belly to back.  Autsini tags in and he clips Dax's leg. Colton tags in and the Gunns stomp Dax in the corner. High dropkick by Colton for 2.  Caster tags in.  Billy Gunn with a big right hand while the ref's back is turned. Dax with a desperation belly to back, he leaps to the corner but Punk and Cash got pulled off the apron.  Flapjack by the Gunns as we go to commercial.

We are back and Caster tries to apply a sharpshooter. Dax escapes and gets the tag into Punk. Punk with a series of right and bodyslams the Gunns. Caster gets taken out with a spin kick. Punk backdrops Cash into the opposition on the floor. Randy Savage elbow by Punk to Caster. Billy Gunn distracts Punk, allowing a brief distraction.  Punk with a GTS and FTR with the Big Rig for the pin on Austin.

WINNERS: CM PUNK & FTR

CM Punk takes the mic and holds up the AEW Title Belt. He imagines this is what drugs must be like.  He knows there's still miles of road to go for him. Dax is excited to be in there.  He says hello to his wife and daughter and that the ROH title means everything to him and Cash.  He seems to want David Finley. Punk says this now brings us to NJPW.  Punk wants to know who he's facing at Forbidden Door and it's Hiroshi Tanahanshi. The Ace comes out to pose.

MJF comes out to a jeering Los Angeles crowd.  He doesn't look happy and want's the mic cut.  He says he's in a lot of pain after Sunday but chastises the crowd and says he'll talk, but it'll be Max Friedman talking.  He talks about Tony Khan having important meeting and he sure hopes nothing goes wrong.  He's going off about getting no respect and he's the only man capable to carrying the company on his back, as he's been doing.

Max calls out the boys in the back wanting his spot. They can have it because he doesn't want to be there anymore. The calls the fans a bunch of classless marks whose opinions suck. He puts down the entire locker room culture chasing 5 star ratings. He again references Khan as the big man in the back. Los Angeles LOVES this and gives him a HUGE ovation.

He wonders if Khan would treat him better if he was ex WWE wrestler. He want's Khan to fire him and gets bleeped out.

Great promo. Really curious as to the next chapter.

The announcers hype Forbidden Door.

Miro answers Elite's open challenge.  He talks about how he plans on taking God's throne, or something to that effect.  Elite tries a leg kick, clothesline by Miro. Miro with stomps and punches in the corner.  Elite tries to fight him off but eats a belly to back as we go to commercial.

We're back and Miro spikes Elite to the ground.  Miro misses a kick and Elite connects with a roundhouse.
