5/31/22 Results for the Best of the Super Juniors 29, The Finals are set from From Toyama, Japan:

Master Wato vs. DOUKI

Wato goes for an sunset flip.  DOUKI kicks out and Wato traps DOUKI in Vendaval.

DOUKI taps out.

Master Wato finishes with 8 points.   

DOUKI finishes with 6 points.

Both men are eliminated.

Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Taguchi pulls down his trunks to hit a hip attack.  Kanemaru rolls him up.

Kanemaru pins Taguchi.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru finishes with 8 points.

Ryusuke Taguchi finishes with 6 points.

Both men eliminated.

Kanemaru has pinned several champions in this tournament, including SHO and Taguchi.  He could challenge any for their titles at Dominion or in the future.

BUSHI vs. El Lindaman

BUSHI hits a lung blower and an MX.

BUSHI pins Lindaman.

BUSHI finishes with 8 points.

El Lindaman finishes with 8 points.

Both men are eliminated.

Clark Conners vs. Alex Zayne

Zayne powerbombed Conners on the ring apron which looked brutal.  Zayne goes for the Cinnamon Twist, but Conners gets his knees up.  Conners hits the Trophy Kill.

Conners pins Zayne.

Clark Conners finishes with 8 points.

Alex Zayne finishes with 8 points.

Both men are eliminated. 

Wheeler Yuta vs. TJP

Yuta pins TJP with a Seat Belt Clutch.

Wheeler Yuta finishes with 10 points.

TJP finishes with 8 points.

Both men are eliminated.

Damn good match.  This was a wrestling match worthy of the ROH Pure Wrestling Title.  Both men acknowledge each other with the Code of Honor tradition.

Yuta acknowledges Danielson, Moxley and Regal as he heads back to the locker room.  He also puts Chris Jericho on notice.

YOH vs. SHO

SHO hits YOH with a wrench and hits a cross arm piledriver.

SHO pins YOH.

SHO finishes with 10 points.

YOH finishes with 8 points.

Both men are eliminated.

Robbie Eagles vs. Titan

Titan rolls up Eagles with a cool leg cradle.

Titan pins Eagles.

Titan finishes with 8 points.

Robbie Eagles finishes with 10 points.

Both are eliminated.

Ace Austin vs. Francesco Akira

They battled on the floor.  Akira hit a Fireball from the ring apron to Austin’s head.  

Austin is counted out.

First count out of the tournament.

Francesco Akira finishes with 8 points.

Ace Austin finishes with 10 points.

Both men are eliminated.

I like the booking here because Akira gets the win but not a pin or submission on the X-Division Champion.  This also sets up future storylines with Akira and Austin.  

Akira was aggressive and brutal in this match.  This is the character he needs to be as a part of the United Empire.  

El Desperado vs. El Phantasmo

Both men trash talk each other to start the match.  ELP berates Desperado for losing against Robbie Eagles the other night, saying if he won they would be the main event tonight.  Desperado tells him that  he is not a main event.  ELP says all he has to do is draw against Desperado and he will win.  ELP forces Desperado to chase him around the ring.   ELP catches the arm and tries to break his fingers.  He drags Desperado to the ring apron and hits a DDT on the floor.   ELP gets a chair and puts it on the ring apron.  He slams Desperado’s face into the chair.  ELP sets up two chairs and tries to powerbomb Desperado.  Desperado back drops ELP and he bumps hard off the chairs.   Desperado jumps in the ring as the referee counts.   Desperado makes the referee stop the count and hits a tope suicida.  ELP looks to be hurting from hitting that chair.   

Back in the ring, Desperado with a back suplex. Desperado with dragon screws and an Indian Death Lock.   ELP rakes the eyes for a break.   ELP lifts Desperado for a suplex and plants him on the floor.  ELP rakes the back and a hits a brainbuster.  Two count.  Another brainbuster.  Two count.  ELP with a sit down Last Ride.  Two count.  They exchange counter moves and Desperado hits a spear.  Desperado avoids a UFO and drops ELP with an Olympic Slam.   Desperado hits Guitarra de Angel.  Two count.  Desperado goes to the top rope and ELP hits an enzugiri.  ELP hits a Thunderkiss 86 to the floor.  ELP throws him in the ring.  Desperado chop blocks him.  Desperado locks in Numero Dos.   ELP reverses into a roll up pin.  Two count.  Desperado with a Spinebuster.  Two count.  Desperado locks in Numero Dos.  ELP is able to crawl out of the hold and try for a sunset flip, but Desperado drops him on his head.  ELP kicks out.

Desperado goes for Pinche Loco and ELP rolls him into a cradle for a two count.   ELP hits Sudden Death.  ELP picks up Desperado and hits a CR2.  Desperado kicks out.  ELP tries for Pinche Loco but he cannot lift him cuz of his ailing leg.  Desperado goes for the leg but ELP hits an enzugiri.   Desperado hits a right fist to the jaw, then hits Pinche Loco.   He goes for another Pinche Loco.  Desperado stops and hits a CR2.

Desperado pins ELP.

El Desperado finishes with 12 points and wins the B Block.

El Phantasmo finishes with 12 points.

El Desperado will advance to the BOSJ 29 finals on Friday night.

Desperado takes a seat at ringside for the main event.

Hiromu Takahashi vs. Taiji Ishimori

Ishimori hits a running dropkick to the chest.  Hiromu rolls to the floor.  Ishimori sends him into the ring post.  Ishimori rams his left shoulder into the post.  Hiromu gets back in the ring, and Ishimori hits a drop kick to the left knee.  Hiromu now hurting with his left arm and left leg.   Ishimori applies a cobra clutch.  Hiromu fights back with chops.  Pace picks up.  Hiromu with a basement dropkick.  Ishimori rolls to the floor.  Hiromu with a running dropkick to the floor.  Hiromu with a Falcon Arrow in the ring.  Ishimori hits a Flatliner into the turnbuckle.   Ishimori sends Hiromu into the exposed turnbuckle.  Ishimori with a shoulder breaker.   They exchange reversals.  Ishimori goes for a hand spring elbow, but Hiromu catches and plants him with a German suplex.  Ishimori hits a running Destroyer.   Both men get to their feet and exchange elbows and strikes.  Hiromu with a dropkick and a Death Valley Driver into the turnbuckle.   Hiromu with a pop up powerbomb.   Hiromu applies a triangle choke.  Ishimori gets the ropes.  They exchange reversals and Ishimori goes for the Bone Lock.  Hiromu gets to the ropes.  

Ishimori hits a Cipher UTAKI.  Two count.  Hiromu reverses out of a Bloody Cross, but Ishimori hits a pop up powerbomb.  Two count. Hiromu counters into a triangle choke.  Ishimori gets the ropes.  They exchange lariats.  Ishimori with a reverse Bloody Sunday.  Hiromu reverses out of a Bloody Cross goes for a DVD into the exposed turnbuckle.  Ishimori avoid it and sends Hiromu shoulder first into the ring post.  Ishimori with another shoulder breaker.  Ishimori hits La Mistica and goes for a Bone Lock.  Hiromu counters into a triangle, but Ishimori powerbombs him.  Both men exhausted.  Ishimori goes for a Bloody Cross but Hiromu takes him down with a hurricanrana and applies the triangle again.   Ishimori tries to get out but Hiromu hits a Stunner and puts the triangle on again.   The referee checks on Ishimori.  No response.

The referee stops the match.  Hiromu Takahashi is declared the winner.

Hiromu Takahashi finishes with 12 points and wins the A Block.

Taiji Ishimori finishes with 12 points.

Hiromu Takahashi will face El Desperado at the BOSJ 29 Finals on Friday, June 3.

The winner of that match will face Taiji Ishimori for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title at Dominion on June 12.

The BOSJ Finals are on June 3 with Hiromu Takahashi facing El Desperado.

Dominion in Osaka will be on June 12, with Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Jay White.
