5/29 BEST OF THE SUPER JUNIORS NEW JAPAN RESULTS

From Ota City, Tokyo Japan:

1 - Master Wato vs. El Lindaman

Wato gets the advantage with a spring board upper cut.  Lindaman pushes him to the floor and hits Wato with a tope con hilo.  Lindaman with a dropkick to the neck.  Wato fights back with a tilt a whirl back breaker and a dropkick.  They exchange elbows and Lindaman hits a back suplex.  They trade near falls.  Wato with a super kick and goes for Recientemente but Lindaman counters into a roll up.  Two count.  Lindaman goes for a deadlift German suplex but Wato blocks it, and reverses into Recientemente.  Two count.   Wato hits a Tenzan Tombstone Driver.  Wato hits the RPP.

Wato pins Lindaman.

Master Wato gets to 6 points. El Lindaman remains at 8 points, and is mathematically eliminated

2 - Titan vs. DOUKI

DOUKI attacks Titan before the bell.  Titan takes him out of the ring with a hurricanrana.  Titan goes for an Asai Moonsault but DOUKI pulls him off the ropes and he crashes to the floor. DOUKI hits a tope suicida.  DOUKI tries to slow it down with a version of the Cobra Twist.  Titan reverses out and hits a super kick.  DOUKI goes to the floor.  Titan hits an top rope Asai Moonsault. Wow!  Back in the ring, Titan with a Death Valley Driver.  Two count.  The pace picks up as they reverse out of each other’s moves.  DOUKI applies the Italian Stretch #32.   Titan gets to the ropes.   Titan blocks a Daybreak and suplexes DOUKI on the ring apron.  Titan hits a lariat.  DOUKI falls on the ring apron.  Titan hits a double stomp off the top rope.   

Titan goes for pin.  Two count.   Titan comes off the top rope with a splash but DOUKI traps him in the Italian Stretch #32.   Titan gets to the ropes.  DOUKI misses a double stomp.  Titan hits a tornado DDT.   Titan picks up DOUKI on his shoulders but DOUKI reverses into Doton No Jutsu.   Two count.  Titan hits a super kick.  DOUKI hits a chop in the throat.  DOUKI climbs on the top rope.  Titan jumps to the top rope and drives DOUKI’s head into the ring post.  DOUKI falls to the mat.  Titan hits a spring board double stomp to the gut.

Titan pins DOUKI.

Titan gets to 6 points.  DOUKI remains with 6 points.  Both are eliminated.

3 - YOH vs. Alex Zayne

YOH hits a basement dropkick to get the early advantage.  Zayne trips up YOH in the corner and hits a cannonball.  YOH hits two dragon screws.  They go to the floor.  YOH hits a plancha.  YOH with a drop kick and a Falcon Arrow.  Two count.  Zayne takes down YOH, but his right knee is bothering him.  Zayne misses a somersault leg drop and YOH hits another dragon screw.  YOH drops a knee on Zayne’s right leg.  Zayne counters with a kick to YOH’s head, but his leg is hurting.  Zayne hits the flipping hurricanrana from the top rope.  Two count.  YOH elbows out of the Taco Driver.  Zayne goes for the Baja Blast but YOH counters into a knee bar.  Zayne goes for the ropes.  YOH pulls him up and hits a German suplex.  Two count.  

YOH goes for a Direct Driver but cannot lift Zayne up.  Zayne with a pop up knee strike.   YOH reverses out of a Taco Driver.   Zayne reverses out of another Direct Driver.  YOH with a kick to the chest and hits a Dragon Suplex.

YOH pins Zayne.

YOH gets to 8 points.  Alex Zayne remains at 8 points.  Both men could be eliminated depending on the results later tonight.

4 - BUSHI vs. TJP

BUSHI comes to the ring with a cool Hell Raiser mask.

TJP tries to attack before BUSHI can get his gear off.  BUSHI takes TJP to the floor and hits a tope suicida.  Back in the ring, BUSHI with a neck breaker.  BUSHI chokes him with his shirt. TJP grabs the shirt away, takes down BUSHI with a hammer lock and hyperextends his shoulders.   TJP stomps on the arm, gives him a hammer lock slam and a senton.   Two count.  TJP gets an Indian Death Lock then a Muta Lock.  BUSHI gets to the ropes.  TJP kicks BUSHI in the face.   BUSHI takes down TJP with a hurricanrana.  He follows with a dropkick and a DDT.  BUSHI with a running dropkick.  TJP with a springboard forearm.  They exchange strikes and kicks.  TJP with a tornado DDT and a Final Cut.  Two count.  

TJP goes for the Pinoy Stretch and BUSHI gets to the ropes.  TJP hits the Detonation Kick.  TJP misses a Swaton.   BUSHI hits a rewind kick.   BUSHI dropkicks TJP’s leg and hits a back cracker.  BUSHI with a Magic Screw.  Two count.  BUSHI goes for an MX but TJP counters with a dropkick.  TJP hits the Mamba Splash.   BUSHI kicks out!   TJP applies the Pinoy Stretch.   

BUSHI taps out.

TJP gets to 8 points.  BUSHI remains at 6 points.   

This was a good match.  Both are veterans and you could see their timing and precision of their moves in the match was excellent.  Great stuff here.

5 - Clark Conners vs. Hiromu Takahashi

Conners has his left arm and shoulder taped up.

Conners drops Hiromu with shoulder tackles to start the match.  They exchange chops.  Hiromu traps Conners with a head scissors choke over the top rope.   Hiromu takes him to the floor.  Conners is thrown into the ring post.  Hiromu slams him hard on the floor and follows with a suplex.   Conners is clutching his left shoulder.  Hiromu hits a dropkick to the left shoulder and applies an arm submission.  Conners tries to block it.   They get to their feet and hit each other with chops.  Conners hits a Jeep Flip.  Conners with a spear and a back drop.  Hiromu blocks another spear, but Conners with a suplex.   They pick up the pace.  Conners comes off the ropes, and Hiromu hits a pop up powerbomb.  Two count.  Hiromu with a lariat.  Two count.  Hiromu goes for an wheelbarrow takedown but Conners powers him up and over into a suplex.  Conners goes for another spear but Hiromu traps him in a triangle choke.   Conners powers up Hiromu and rams him in the corner.  Hiromu with a lariat.  Conners with a spear.  Close two count.  Conners with a powerslam.  Conners goes for The Trophy Kill but Hiromu counters into a hurricanrana and rolls him into another triangle choke.  Conners powers him up. Hiromu hits a Stunner.  Hiromu with the triangle choke again. 

Conners taps out.

Hiromu Takahashi gets to 10 points, now tied with Ace Austin and Taiji Ishimori, for the lead in A Block.  Clark Conners remains at 6 points.

6 - Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Ace Austin

Austin points at his thigh and tells Taguchi that he has strong legs.  Taguchi laughs and throws a hip attack on his leg.  Taguchi hurts his butt on the thigh of Austin and wants a time out.  Crowd laughs.  

They exchange arm locks.   Austin misses a leg drop.  Taguchi hits three quick hip attacks and goes for a flying hip attack.  Austin ducks out of the way.  Taguchi connects with a second flying hip attack, which sends Austin to the ropes.   Taguchi rubs his rear end in Austin’s face.  Taguchi pulls his tights down, exposing his red underwear and rubs it it his face.  Austin screams in disgust.  Austin takes down Taguchi with an arm drag and pulls out the Ace Card for a paper cut.  Austin instead paper cuts Taguchi’s rear end.   Nice comedic spots here.  

Austin drops knees on Taguchi’s lower back and pulls up his trunks.  Austin stomps on Taguchi and follows with a running dropkick.  Two count.  Austin grabs Taguchi in a body scissors.   Taguchi gets to the ropes.  Austin tries for a spin kick but Taguchi hits him in the chest with a hip attack.   Austin rolls to the ring apron and Taguchi pushes him to the floor.  Taguchi with a plancha.  Taguchi with running hip attacks.  Taguchi with a springboard hip attack.  Two count.  

Austin counters a Bum-aye with a roll up bridge.  Two count.   Austin with a knee strike, a snap mare and a head scissors submission.  Taguchi goes for the ropes and get it.  Taguchi goes to the floor.  Austin hits Soar to Glory.  Austin with a spin kick.  Two count.  Taguchi goes for a Dodon, but Austin reverses into a near fall.  Austin hits House of Cards.  Austin goes for The Fold but Taguchi dodges.   Austin goes for a sunset flip.  Big gasp from the crowd.  Taguchi tries to hold on, but Austin grabs his trunks and pulls them down.   Taguchi squats on Austin’s chest.  

Taguchi pins Austin.

Ryusuke Taguchi gets to 6 points.  Ace Austin stays at 10 points.   Austin had a chance to take the lead but remains in a tie for the lead of A Block.

7 - Wheeler Yuta vs. El Phantasmo

Yuta attacks ELP immediately.  He throws ELP to the floor and hits a tope suicida.  They fight on the the floor.  ELP hits a double arm DDT on the floor.  ELP with a back breaker and a brainbuster.  Two count.  Yuta punches out of a Liger Bomb and hits a body press.  He follows with a reverse atomic drop and an enzugiri. Yuta goes for Cattle Mutilation, but ELP rolls him on his back for a near fall.  ELP with a springboard body press.  Two count.  Yuta with a Seat Belt Clutch, for a near fall.  

 

They exchange elbows.  Yuta hits a Pain Thriller. Two count.  Yuta applies the Cattle Mutilation.  Rope break by ELP.  After a bunch of reversals, Yuta hits a Psycho Knee.  Yuta picks up ELP in a tombstone position, applies the Yuta Lock, then drops ELP with a tombstone piledriver.  ELP somehow kicks out at two. Yuta hammers with elbows.  Yuta goes for a Seat Belt Clutch, but ELP rolls out and hits Sudden Death.  ELP goes for the pin and Yuta kicks out.   ELP hits another Sudden Death to the face.  ELP follows with a CR2.

ELP pins Yuta.

El Phantasmo is the first to 12 points and leads the B Block.  Wheeler Yuta remains at 8 points.

8 - Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. SHO

SHO comes to the ring first.  As Kanemaru’s music plays, SHO goes to attack him as he comes through the curtain.  Kanemaru is ready for him and they brawl behind the curtains.  They come out with Kanemaru choking SHO and dragging him to ringside.  SHO gets smashed into the ring post.   Kanemaru pulls out a chair tries to destroy SHO’s left knee.   SHO screams in pain.  Kanemaru applies a figure four leg lock.  SHO pushes the referee into Kanemaru which breaks the hold.  SHO goes for his wrench.  Kanemaru goes for his whisky bottle.   SHO hits Kanemaru in the gut. Kanemaru kicks wrench away.  Kanemaru picks up the wrench and SHO tries to take it away.  Kanemaru kicks SHO below the belt and hits a moonsault.  The referee is back in the ring and SHO kicks out at two.  Kanemaru hits Touch Out (Twisting brainbuster).

Yoshinobu Kanemaru gets to 6 points.  SHO remains at 8 points.

Wow, quick win for Kanemaru in under 3 minutes.   This win also could have eliminated SHO from the BOSJ 29, depending on the results of the next match and on Tuesday.

9 - Francesco Akira vs. Taiji Ishimori

Akira attacks Ishimori at the start.  Akira with an Asai Moonsault to Ishimori on the floor.  Ishimori runs Akira’s left arm into the ring post.  Ishimori removes the turnbuckle pad and runs Akira arm first into the metal bolt.  Ishimori continues to work on the arm, slowing the pace.  Ishimori comes off the ropes with a spring board attack and Akira dropkicks him in the gut.  Akira hits Ishimori with running elbows and upper cuts.  Akira with a double stomp.  Two count.   Ishimori sends him into the ring post and follows with a shoulder breaker.   Two count.  Ishimori goes for a hand spring elbow.  Akira catches him and hits a German suplex.  Ishimori hits a Destroyer.  Akira counters with a double knee to the face.   

Akira dropkicks Ishimori into the turnbuckle.  Akira puts Ishimori on the top rope.  Akira with a Super Spanish Fly.  Two count.   Akira misses the Fireball.  Ishimori with La Mistica and applies the Bone Lock.   Akira gets to the ropes.  Ishimori goes for a Bloody Cross, but Akira counters and hits a thrust kick.  Akira hits a Poisonrana.  Akira hits a Speedfire.  Two count.   Ishimori with Cipher UTAKI.  Two count.  Ishimori hits a Bloody Cross.

Ishimori pins Akira.

Taiji Ishimori gets to 12 points.  Francesco Akira remains at 6 points.

10 - Robbie Eagles vs. El Desperado

They exchange arm locks at the start.  Eagles takes Desperado to the floor.  Desperado avoids Eagles’ aerial attack and they battle on the floor.  Desperado tries to throw Eagles into the ring post but Eagles counters into an arm

drag and Desperado smashes his leg on the concrete floor.  Eagles throws Desperado in the ring and Desperado kicks him in the left knee.  Desperado quickly brutalizes his knee and wrap it around the ring post.  Desperado traps him in an Indian Death Lock.   Eagles counters out and chop blocks Desperado.   An elbow sends Desperado to the floor.  Eagles hits a tope suicida.

Back in the ring, Eagles hits a running Cutter.  Eagles with a leg lariat.   Eagles hits two double knees.  Two count.  Eagles goes for a high kick but Desperado hits a dragon screw.  Desperado applies a Stretch Muffler.  Eagles rolls to the floor.  Desperado goes for a tope suicida but Eagles kicks him in the head as he flys through the ropes.   Eagles hits a dropkick off the ring apron to Desperado’s leg.  Both men were screaming in pain holding their legs.  Eagles applies the Ron Miller Special.  Desperado gets the rope break.  They trade elbows and strikes.   Eagles with an Asai DDT.  Two count.   Eagles goes for a 450.  Desperado moves.  Eagles lands on his feet and tweaks the leg.  Chop block by Desperado and follows with a Stretch Muffler.  Desperado grabs the arm for Numero Dos.  Eagles gets to the ropes. Desperado goes for Pinche Loco.  Eagles reverses out and Desperado rolls him into a pin.  Eagles kicks out.  Desperado traps him again in Stretch Muffler and grabs his arms for Numero Dos.   Eagles wiggles out and climbs up on the back of Desperado.  Desperado drops him headfirst to the mat with a Bastard Driver.  Eagles kicks out.  

Eagles hits Desperado with kicks.  Eagles with a 619.  Eagles hits a springboard 450 on Desperado’s leg and applies the Ron Miller Special.  

Desperado taps out.

Robbie Eagles gets to 10 points.  El Desperado remains at 10 points.   

Robbie Eagles will face Titan on Tuesday.  El Desperado and El Phantasmo will also meet on Tuesday.

The last night of Block Matches are on May 31, with the Finals on June 3.
