5/28 NEW JAPAN BEST OF THE SUPER JUNIORS RESULTS FROM CHIBA, JAPAN

1 - Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Francesco Akira

Kanemaru attacks Akira at the bell with kicks and stomps.  Akira with a hurricanrana.  Kanemaru dropkicks the left knee.  Kanemaru goes to work on the left knee with kicks and leg locks.  Akira fights to the ropes.  Kanemaru with another dropkick to the leg.  Kanemaru uses the ropes and ring post to weaken the leg.  Akira uses a wheelbarrow and flips Kanemaru over and hits a double stomp.   Both men rolling on the mat in pain.   Akira with a Facebuster.  Kanemaru reverses out of Speedfire and dropkicks the knee again.  Kanemaru applies a half crab.  Akira gets to the ropes.   Kanemaru with a reverse DDT.  Two count.  Kanemaru comes off the ropes with Deep Impact but Akira hits a dropkick in the face.  Akira with a Fireplex.  Two count.  Akira misses a Fireball.  Kanemaru attempts several near falls.  Akira with a spin kick and Speedfire.  Akira hits the Fireball.

Akira pins Kanemaru.  

Francesco Akira gets to 6 points.  Yoshinobu Kanemaru remains at 4 points.

2 - Clark Conners vs. Taiji Ishimori

Ishimori argues with New Japan announcers that Conners is a Heavyweight rather than a Jr. Ishimori kicks Conners in the gut and they brawl in the ring and to the floor.     Ishimori slams Conners into the ring post head first.   He catapults Conners shoulder first into the post.   Ishimori attacks the left arm and shoulder.    Conners counters with a Jeep Flip.  He slams Ishimori.   He goes for a spear but Conners sends him shoulder first into the ring post.  Ishimori with a shoulder breaker.  Ishimori goes for La Mistica, but Conners reverses out.  He goes for a powerslam but Ishimori kicks him and Conners bounces off the ropes.  Ishimori takes him down by the left arm and goes for the Bone Lock.  Conners gets to the ropes.  Conners hits a deadlift release German suplex and follows with a spear.  Ishimori goes for a Bloody Cross but Conners reverses and hits a powerslam.  Conners goes for a Trophy Kill, but Ishimori counters into a Fujiwara arm bar then a Bone Lock.  

Conners taps out.

Taiji Ishimori gets to 10 points.  Clark Conners remains at 6 points.

3 - Titan vs. BUSHI

BUSHI attacks Titan as he is being introduced.  He beats Titan out to the floor and throws him back into the ring. Titan hits a tope suicida.  He stomps on BUSHI and hits an avalanche in the ring.  Two count by Titan.  BUSHI with a dropkick to the leg.   BUSHI chokes Titan with his t-shirt and tries to take off his mask.  BUSHI applies a head scissors choke.  Titan gets the ropes.  Titan kicks BUSHI in the head and hits a spring board dropkick.  BUSHI falls to the floor.  Titan with a tope con hilo.  Titan hits a neck breaker.  Two count.  They exchange kicks.  BUSHI hits a DDT.   BUSHI with a dropkick and a Magic Screw.  Two count.   Titan comes off the ropes with a spring board DDT.  Titan drops BUSHI face first on his knee.  Two count.   Titan hits a spring board double stomp.   

Titan pins BUSHI

Titan gets to 4 points.  BUSHI remains at 6 points.

4 - Ryusuke Taguchi vs. YOH

They begin grappling and chain wrestling.   Taguchi takes out YOH’s right knee.  YOH hits a dropkick to his rear end.  Pace picks up.  Taguchi with a dragon screw. They reverse out several hold and pin attempts.  Taguchi kicks out of a school boy pin and YOH goes for a knee bar.  Taguchi reverses into an ankle lock. YOH reverses back to a knee bar.  Taguchi escapes and they exchange more near falls.  YOH goes for a sunset flip and Taguchi pulls down his trunks and sits on YOH’s chest.  They reverse into near falls.   They bounce off the ropes with running attacks.  Taguchi pulls down his underwear exposing his bare butt and takes down YOH with a hurricanrana.  Taguchi sits on YOH’s chest pinning his shoulders.

Taguchi pins YOH.

Ryusuke Taguchi gets to 4 points.  YOH remains at 6 points.  

5 - Ace Austin vs. SHO

SHO attacks Austin during his introduction.  They fight to the floor.  SHO grabs a chair and drags Austin to the back of the arena.  SHO throws Austin into the wall.  He hits Austin with the chair.  SHO races back to the ring and the referee starts the count.  Austin makes it back to the ring and pulls SHO to the floor.  He hits SHO with a punt kick to the chest.  Austin hits a Soar to Glory.  He throws SHO in the ring and goes for The Fold.  SHO pulls the referee in the way.  Austin hits House of Cards.  Austin goes for The Fold again but SHO catches him and throws him into the referee.  SHO hits a low blow.  SHO grabs his wrench and hits Austin in the face.  There is no referee.  SHO calls for another referee, and another one comes to the ring.  SHO goes for the pin but Austin kicks out. SHO applies the Snake Bite.   

The referee stops the match as Austin is not responding.

SHO gets to 8 points.  Ace Austin remains at 10 points

Ace Austin and Taiji Ishimori are tied at the top of A Block.

6 - Master Wato vs. Wheeler Yuta

They exchange arm locks and head locks. Pace picks up.   Wato hits Yuta with kicks.  Yuta takes down Wato with an arm bar.  Yuta stomps on his arm.  Wato throws kicks to Yuta’s head, who goes to the floor. Wato hits a senton to the floor.  Wato with a springboard upper cut.  Two count.  Yuta goes after the left arm of Wato again.  Wato counters into Recientemente.  Two count.  Wato goes for a Tenzan Tombstone Driver but Yuta reverses out and hits an enzugiri.  Yuta goes for Cattle Mutilation but Wato reverses into a pin.  Two count.  Wato with a German suplex with a bridge.  Two count.  Wato misses an RPP.  Yuta hits the Pain Thriller.  Wato kicks out at two.  Yuta hammers Wato with elbows and rolls him into the Seat Belt Clutch.   

Yuta pins Wato.

Wheeler Yuta gets to 8 points, and a 5 way tie in B Block.  Master Wato remains at 4 points.

7 - TJP vs. El Phantasmo

ELP was still selling the results from his match with Robbie Eagles two nights ago.

A methodical start to the match.  Both men wrestling on the mat.  They slowly pick up the pace.  They go to the floor and ELP hits a suplex.  Back in the ring, ELP hits another suplex and a gut buster.  ELP goes for a rope walk but gets pushed to the floor.  TJP with a spring board dropkick.  Back in the ring, TJP hits a tornado DDT.   TJP applies an octopus lock.  ELP escapes and they exchange kicks.  TJP goes for a Pinoy Stretch but ELP escapes.  ELP hits the CR2.

ELP pins TJP

El Phantasmo gets to 10 points.  TJP remains at 6 points.

ELP was still hurting and he and TJP wrestled a tight match with a few high spots.  ELP also suffered a broken nose against Eagles.  The pace of this match was good for both men at this point in the tournament.

8 - Robbie Eagles vs. El Lindaman

Lindaman starts strong with mat wrestling and strikes.  The pace picks up with both men moving quickly.  Too much to recap here.  Eagles kicks Lindaman in the hamstrings.  Eagles goes for a 450 splash but Lindaman moves.  Lindaman sends Eagles headfirst into the turnbuckle with an Exploder suplex.   They exchange near falls.  Eagles with a Turbo Backpack and locks in the Ron Miller Special.  

Lindaman taps out.

Robbie Eagles gets to 8 points.  El Lindaman remains at 8 points.

This was a good match.  Eagles took a beating against El Phantasmo and he wrestled hard against Lindaman.  Eagles will face El Desperado tomorrow.  

9 - Hiromu Takahashi vs. Alex Zayne

Zayne takes Hiromu down and drags him to the ring apron.  Zayne hits a knee lift and a somersault leg drop.   Zayne with a senton over the top rope and spinning senton off the ropes.  Two count.  Zayne starts kicking Hiromu’s left leg stomps on his knee.  Hiromu counters with a hurricanrana and a dropkick.   Hiromu with a running dropkick off the apron to the floor. Hiromu with another running dropkick sending Zayne flying into the turnbuckle.   Two count.  Zayne with a hurricanrana on Hiromu off the top rope.  Two count.  Hiromu with a sunset bomb to the floor.  Zayne comes back with a powerbomb.  Two count.  Zayne goes for a Taco Driver.  Hiromu counters with a wheel barrow into a Flatliner.  Hiromu with a lariat.   Hiromu with a super kick and a Victory Royal.  Zayne hits a Baja Blast.  Zayne hits a pop up knee strike.   Zayne goes for another Taco Driver.  Hiromu reverses out and applies a triangle choke.  Zayne powers him up.  Hiromu with a Stunner and applies the triangle choke agains.

Zayne taps out. 

Hiromu Takahashi gets 8 points total.  Alex Zayne remains at 8 points.

Both men shake hands after the match.  

10 - El Desperado vs. DOUKI

DOUKI did not bring his metal pipe to the ring.  No shortcuts for DOUKI.

Taichi comes to ringside to watch his Suzuki-Gun teammates.  

They trash talk each other and begin throwing stiff elbows and chops.   DOUKI with a lariat and a neck breaker.  Desperado rolls to the outside.  DOUKI throws Desperado against then metal ring post.   DOUKI hammers elbows to the neck.  DOUKI trapped Desperado in head scissors choke.   Desperado gets to the ropes.   They continue to talk trash and rake each other in the eyes.  They go to the floor and DOUKI hits a DDT on the floor.  Desperado recovers and hits a suicida con hilo.  Desperado slams DOUKI on the floor.  DOUKI almost gets counted out.  Desperado with a back suplex.  Desperado attacks the left leg with a stomp and a dragon screw.    Desperado tortures DOUKI with an Indian Death Lock.  Desperado gets a Stretch Muffler and DOUKI dashes for the ropes.   DOUKI with a dropkick to the neck.  DOUKI hits a dropkick to the back of the head and another DDT.   DOUKI applies the Italian Stretch #32.   Desperado gets the ropes.  DOUKI goes for Daybreak.   Desperado reverses into a suplex.   Desperado hits Guitarra de Angel.   Two count.  

They throw elbows at each other.   Desperado hits three stiff shots and goes for Pinche Loco.  DOUKI rolls out into a sunset flip pin.  Desperado kicks out and DOUKI applies Italian Stretch #32.   Desperado fights to the ropes.   Desperado rolls to the floor.  DOUKI hits a tope suicida but rolls into a tornado DDT.  Desperado hits the concrete floor.  Desperado writhes in pain.  DOUKI drags him back to the ring.  DOUKI hits a Daybreak.  Two count.  DOUKI locks in the Italian Stretch #32.   Desperado reaches for the ropes. DOUKI rolls him to the middle.  Desperado dragon screws DOUKI’s leg.  Desperado traps DOUKI in Numero Dos.   DOUKI reaches for the ropes.  Desperado rolls him to the middle and locks in Numero Dos.

DOUKI submits.

El Desperado gets to 10 points.   DOUKI remains at 6 points.  El Desperado and El Phantasmo are tied for the lead in B Block.

Desperado puts over DOUKI and says he enjoys performing at this level in the BOSJ 29.

In the interview area, Desperado addresses the trash talk against DOUKI, he says these things to motivate and push his teammate.  He hope that this loss will push DOUKI to fight harder.
