UK AND US BINGO CALLS

Bingo is one such game that is enjoyed all over the world, with players new and existing coming together in Bingo halls worldwide to enjoy a game that has been loved for decades. Whether you decide to purchase your Bingo cards down at your favourite land-based hall, or virtually on an online Bingo site, you are guaranteed to be welcomed into the world that is Bingo.

When it comes to the game itself, depending on where in the world you’re dabbing off your numbers, depends on the different kinds of calls you may hear. With this in mind, we wanted to share with you some Bingo calls from both the UK and the US, so grab your dauber and follow us…

UK Calls

7 – Lucky Seven: Seven is considered a lucky number, and features within the Slots too.

11 – Legs Eleven: The number 11 resembles a pair of legs.

13 – Unlucky for some: The number thirteen to some, is considered unlucky.

14 – Valentine’s Day: Valentine’s Day is always on the 14th of February.

16 – Sweet Sixteen: Turning 16 is a significant birthday for some teenagers.

18 – Coming of Age: 18 is the official age in the UK that you become an adult.

22 – Two Little Ducks: The number two looks like a duck.

25 – Duck and Dive: The number two resembles a duck, whereas the five looks like a snake.

30 – Dirty Gertie: A culture reference from WW2 where a song called ‘Dirty Gertie from Bizerte’ was sung by the soldiers.

42 – Winnie the Pooh: Rhymes with 42, but also pays homage to a much-loved fictional character.

44 – Droopy Draws: The number 44 is considered to look like baggy underwear.

50 – Half a Century: 100 years is classed as a century, 50 is half of 100.

65 – Old Age Pension: This is the age at which someone can opt to start collecting their pension.

69 – Either Way Up: Whichever way up you read this number; it will read the same.

77 – Double Hockey Sticks: The sevens look like upside-down hockey sticks.

88 – Two Fat Ladies – The number eight is said to resemble a large chested lady with a big bottom.

90 – Top of the Shop: Refers to 90 being the highest ball in play within the game.

US Calls

6 – Tom Mix: Homage to a silent movie film star.

8 – Harry Tate: Homage to an early film star and music hall comedian.

30 – Burlington Bertie: An early 1900s music hall song.

39 – Jack Benny: Homage to a comedian from the 50s and 60s, who always joked he was always 39.

42 – The Street in Manhattan: A reference to the 1993 movie, 42nd Street.

45 – Cowboy’s Friend: A reference to a Colt 45 Revolver.

50 – Hawaii five-oh: Pays homage to a 1970s police drama.

75 – Big Daddy: The highest number in American Bingo.

77 – Sunset Strip: Pays homage to a TV show from the 50s and 60s, when a 90 ball game is played in the US.
