COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

 

It's Wednesday Night! And that means it's AEW Dynamite LIVE and in living color.  Tonight we get a repeat of one of the most intense segments in AEW history, the infamous 10 lashes, one of the few times in my fandom that I was legit uncomfortable watching something. Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur have the call of all the action from Houston, TX

Owen Hart Foundation QuarterFinal: Samoa Joe vs. Johnny Elite fka John Morrison

Elbow by Elite, punches by Joe. Chop by Joe. Side kick by Elite, he hits a double leg and they are seperated in the ropes.  Kick by Elite, Joe kicks back. HUGE chop by Joe in the corner.  Uppercut by Elite. Back elbow by Joe. Headbutt by Joe and he levels elite with a kick.  Joe goes for a neck crank, Elite with a pair of kicks to escape. Elite with a hammerlock. Joe punches out of it.  Elite with a cartwheel clothesline.  Joe rolls out and Elite nails a corkscrew moonsault as we go to commercial.

Shoulder tackle by Joe.  Reverse atomic drop by Joe into a senton for 2.  Elite tries to fight back and tries a foreman. Joe blocks it and drops Elite with a chop for 2.  Joe goes for the muscle buster but Elite slips out and nails Joe.  Elite with a 450 for 2.  Knee strike for 2 by Elite.  Joe gets the knees up on a moonsault.  Palm strikes by Joe and he nails a muscle buster for the pin.

WINNER SAMOA JOE

Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt with Singh immediately attack Joe and they lay him out with a lead pipe to the shoulder.  Trent Barretta and Chuck Taylor make the save.

We see highlights of Jeff Hardy vs. Darby Allin and then Lexi is back with the Hardys.  The Young Bucks interrupt and passive aggressively support him. The Hardys warn the Bucks not to get involved tonight.

CM Punk joins the booth for our next match. I'm gonna applaud the hell out of him tonight.

Non Title: Hangman Page vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Kick by takeshita. Fallaway slam by Page. Page clotheslines him over the top rope.  Page sends him back into the ring but Takeshita with a tope over the top.  He throws Page back in and connects with a clothesline.  Takeshita to the top but Page pushes him to the apron. Takeshita blocks a suplex on the floor and nails a hard forearm. He charges but Page drops him on the apron. Page with a moonsault to the floor as we go to commmercial.

We're back and it's Takeshita with with elbows and forearms.  Running clothesline by Takeshita.  Blue thunder for 2 by Takeshita.  Tope con hillo by Takeshita.  Both are back in the ring.  Helluva kick by Takeshita. Page with one of his own. German by Page, Takeshita returns the favor and both go down to a double clothesline.  Forearm exchange. Back elbow by Takeshita but a tombstome by Page for 2.  Page misses the buckshot and Takeshita with a hard elbow and powerbomb for 2.  V Trigger for 2 by Takeshita. Snap German by Takeshita but he hurt his neck on the way down.  Hangman blocks the running knee and elbows him.  Page with an attempt at a superplex. Takeshita shoves him off but an immdiate lariat by Page. Page with a buckshot and a GTS for the pin.

WINNER ADAM PAGE

Page and Punk have an intense staredown in the aisle. Page storms off.

Fuego Del Sol and Dark Order challenge the House of Black this Friday on Rampage

Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee vs. Anthony Henry and JD Drake

I'm not thinking this'll go to commercial. Drake and Lee kick us off. Drake with a chop, double chop by Lee into an arm twist. Swerve tags in as does Henry. Kicks by Henry, Swerve bullies him into the buckles. Running uppercut by Swerve and a running face drop.  Drake tags in and eats a chop. Lee tags in and hits Drake with a pounce. Double stomp by Swerve as Lee holds Henry in a powerbomb position and Swerve scores the pin.

WINNERS: KEITH LEE AND SWERVE STRICKLAND

Lee has the mic. He welcomes Texas to Dynamite.  He announces that he and Swerve are now a top 5 team. Pwerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks come out. They trade insults and then our AEW World Tag Team Champions come out with Christian Cage. Cage tells them all to shut up. Christian challenges both teams to a three way at Double or Nothing. Before that he wants Jungle Boy vs. Swerve vs. Starks next week.

Tony Schiavone is with Kris Statlander and Red velvet.  Velvet runs her down.  Statlander, as a brunette, looks so much different. JAde Cargill comes out and tells Tony to cut the Sh--

MJF and Shawn Spears come out.  It's time. This might be ugly.  MJF reminds Wardlow that he must take the 10 lashes or the Double or Nothing match is off.  Wardlow is escorted to the ring, handcuffed and flanked by security. Houston TX is on fore for Wardlow.  MJF spits in Wardlow's face.  Wardlow smiles through 1 lash.  He smiles through 2.  Lashes 3 - 7 go in QUICK fashion. Wardlow smiles through it. Spears delivers #8 and 9. Wardlow registers the 9th lash.  Low blow by MJF. MJF lays down a series of lashes.  MJF clocks him with the Dynamite Diamond ring.  Spears with a C4 and scores a mock pinfall.  

Rocky Romero and Trent issue a challenge for the ROH, IWGP and AEW Tag team titles

Owen Hart Quarterfinal Match: Kyle O'Reilly vs Rey Fenix w/Alex Abrahantes

KOR avoids the stomp and takes Fenix over into a side headlock. Kick by KOR, he goes for a cross armbreaker but Fenix with a rollup for 2.  Kyle catches the chop and now they're trading. Midsection kick by Fenix, Kyle tries a Kimura. Kick by Fenix, elbow by Kyle. Springboard enziguiri by Fenix, he nails a tope suicida. Kyle somehow slaps on a triangle sleeper. On the outside, KOR sends Fenix into the post as we head to commercial.

We're back and they are going back and forth with strikes. Side kick by Fenix. Fenix' arm gave out as he tried a sringboard.  Powerbomb for 2 by Fenix. Running hurancanrana for 2 by Fenix. Side kicks by KOR, Fenix with a roundhouse kick. KOR with a pair of butterfly suplexes. Fenix sends him into the corner and hits a running kick. They're trading hard kicks and clothelsines. Both finally go down from a double kick.  Fenix fires away. Choke by Kyle into a wristlock. They're attempting to kill each other with strikes. Fenix walks the ropes and nails a rana. He goes for a cutter but Kyle blocks it and taps Fexix with a cross armbreaker.

WINNER: KYLE O'REILLY

The Blackpool Combat Club (sans Wheeler Yuta, in Japan at the Super Jr tounrnament) come out with Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz.  The Jericho Appreciation Society follows for this face to face. They demand JUDAS be cut. The fans don't deserve the song as they were cheering the attack last week. Jericho blames Regal for the attack. He mock Regal's addiction issues.  He runs down Regal's proteges, getting real personal in the process. He threatens Regal with a fireball or urination in his tea...again

Regal tells Jericho to be quiet and describes what he used to do with Jericho's toothbrush back in the day.  Jericho challenges them to a stadium stampede match. Moxley declines.  It'll be 5 on 5 at Double or Nothing in an anything goes match. Eddie Kingston? He wants it now. Jericho and company walk off.

Matt Sydal and Dante Martin are backstage. They challenge any members of the Blackpool Combat Club/Santana/Ortiz/Kingston to a match for Rampage.

OWEN HART QUARTERFINAL MATCH: Dr. Britt Baker DMD vs Maki Itoh

They hug. Itoh lays down for a cover but small packages Baker for 2. Itoh cries and then stomps Baker's foot. Baker goes for lockjaw but gets rolled up for 2. Baker scores a 2 count as we go to commercial.

Somewhere over Louisville, KY there is a combustive explosion above Castle Cornette.

We're back and it's Baker with a double underhook for 2.  Suplex by Itoh. Baker with forearms. Baker applies the black glove. Baker slams Itoh into the corner and Itoh laughes it off and slams her own head into the buckles. DDT by Itoh for 2.  Dropping headbutt for 2 by Itoh. Thrust kick by Baker and she applies the lockjaw for the tap.

WINNER DR BRITT BAKER DMD

Toni Storm comes out and stares down Dr. Baker.

Tony Schiavone brings out Serena Deeb. She says she's sick of hearing Tony talk. She took umbrige with Tony's prediction that Thunder Rosa would win at Double or Nothing.  She invites Dustin Rhodes out. She calls him a failure like Texas sports teams.  She is not happy with Dustin's support of Rosa.  She gets real personal talking about shaving her head and getting plastic surgery just to fit in in the business.  Thunder Rosa comes out. Rhode sholds her back but Deeb nails her with the AEW Title belt.

Owen Hart Tournament Semi Final: Jeff Hardy vs Adam Cole

Cole attacks Hardy in the aisle. Hardy immediately strikes back in the ring. Cole bails but gets hit with a dive. Cole sends Hardy into the steps. Backstabber by Cole as we head to commercial.

We're back and it's Cole battering Hardy with punches and elbows. Hardy with a takedown and legdrop for 2. They trade forearms. Kneelift by Cole into an enziguiri. Hardy with a gord buster for 2.  Back elbow by Hardy. Cole with a superkick counter off of Willow the Wisp.  Stunner and twist of fate by Hardy.  He misses a swanton. Cole with a running knee for the pin

WINNER: ADAM COLE

The Young Bucks come out to distract the Hardys. Cole with a double clothesline. BTE Trigger by the bucks to Matt Hardy. Darby Allin and Sting make the save. reDRagon come out to help and they taje out Allin.  Sting shruggs off a chair shot but gets double superkicked. The Undisputed Elite Pillmanize Stings ankle as we go off the air.
