THE BUCKS AND THE HARDYS FACE OFF: BEING THE ELITE RECAP

By Eric Denton on 2022-05-16 13:23:00

Being the Elite Ep. 307 “Three Simple Words”

Kyle O’Reilly is on the phone arguing with Delta Airlines worried about the Young Bucks when they and Cutler enter The Elite locker room. Matt and Nick tell him everything is fine despite travel woes (Cutler is showing off his new travel case). The Bucks and Cutler are in a good mood saying they’ve adopted a new philosophy. Matt tells Kyle they live by three simple words “Live, Love, Superkick."  They superkick Kyle. He wakes up and gets in a yoga pose and repeats the mantra. The shirt is now available on Pro Wrestling Tees.

Theme song!

Matt is walking up to the hotel at 1 AM after travel from Ontario,CA to Long Island, NY and the collectors are there waiting for them. He’s very tired and says he’s over the West Coast to East Coast travel.

Matt and Nick are with the Adidas picking up the Pride Month shoes and t-shirts they designed. The merch benefits The Trevor Project.

Christopher Daniels is practicing blackjack, rock/paper/scissors and dice games in preparation for his BTE title rematch vs Adam Cole. He starts sneezing says “oh no” and he does a Covid test. He is positive. CD is mumbling about making it 2.5 years without catching it. “To Be Continued”.

The Law Office of Mark Sterling advertisement.

Attention Injured Black Shirt Security Guards! You may be entitled to compensation due to the “Wardlow no physicality stipulation” despite AEW advising you don’t need a lawyer. Wardlow is a maniac who needs to pay. We see testimony from security guards and footage of them being beat up.

Cutler is showing off his non-Jordan shoes and the Bucks make fun of them. Matt wants to punish him by making Cutler fight Bear Bronson on Dark Elevation and he texts Tony Khan. Cutler tries to remind him about “Live, Love, Superkick” to get him to calm down but Matt says Brandon is right but it’s too late and TK made the match.

Ryan Nemeth is trying to film a promo claiming he’s still undefeated. His camera man is having none of it. He says he and Dolph are doing a comedy show in LA on June 2.

Peter Avalon and Leva Bates are listening to JD Drake and he wants to play “Pete’s Paw Print."

They find two paw prints. And rawing of a carnival and one of a dog. Leva is off to find another. JD puts the paw print sticky note on Leva’s shirt and Peter says the answer to the riddle is “Leva is a carny b**ch." She gets mad and slaps Peter and flips off JD. Drake reminds Peter he asked him to help get him some action and he got him some.

The Bucks introduce Cutler to Brian Quinn of Impractical Jokers.  Brandon is ecstatic and Quinn gets annoyed immediately and tells him to “shut up Landon”. Q leaves and the Bucks scold Cutler for ruining the moment.

Peter Avalon is at the Santino Bros. show in LA and a woman walks by who catches his eye. He calls Ryan for Wingman advise. He doesn’t answer, he can’t get ahold of Cezar or Drake either. He calls his original wingman Ray Rosas. Ray is marking his tally sheet and we see it’s been 45 weeks since Peter’s last call and he is sad. His phone rings “Obsession” by Animotion plays (PPRAY’s theme song). Peter tells Ray he needs him and we see Ray walk into the room since he was at the same show. Avalon asks for advise. Ray tells him to relax and remember the stuff he’s learned in all the books he’s read. Ray says listen to the girl and talk about what she’s interested in. Peter leaves to find her.

Matt and Jeff Hardy find the Bucks. Matt Jackson condescendingly thanks Jeff for sacrificing his body in the match with Darby and he tells the Hardy’s the Bucks are cooler than them now and they’ve surpassed them. Nick reminds them the Bucks are in their prime. Matt J. reminds Hardys they’re the reason they got nice contracts in AEW and while they’re well paid he made sure they got less than the Bucks did. Matt Hardy says the Bucks remind them of themselves when they got started but the Hardy’s had to go thru the Wild West of wrestling and the Bucks couldn’t have handled all the shit they had to deal with. Hardy says The Bucks wouldn’t have made it like they did. Matt tries to get The Bucks to throw a punch but they refuse to start a fight.

Jeff says,“We’re this close."

Until next week. Be Elite.
