Wrestling Open Week 19

5/12/22 - Worcester, MA

Spotlight Match: “The Tatooed Torture Expert” Blaxstrom vs “The One Lunged Angel” Bryce Donovan 

Bryce tries to take his shirt off but Blaxstorm with a kick to the gut. Bryce wraps up the legs and gives the crowd the show they want. Jumping elbow drop for two! Bryce tries a slingshot but eats a superkick. Ram to the buckles! Blaxstrom chopping up Bryce and takes his air for a two count. Huge chest kick collapses Donovan. Knee drop to the elbow. Bryce stuns him. Slingshot punch to the head! Boss man slam! Kick out! Bryce spikes a Blaxstrom with something between a tombstone and a falcon arrow. Crazy move and Blaxstrom stays down for the three!

Winner: Bryce Donovan

And we’re live on IWTV! Paul Crockett is on commentary! Rich Palladino is you announcer! Let’s goooooo!

Match 1: “The Victorious BRG” Brett Ryan Gosling (w/ his trusty steed Clip Clop) vs “The Ovaltine Dream” Thomas Santell

The first of two clashes between the Fancy Nerds and the Stetson Ranch. Santell in and controlling BRG early. Gosling weathers the storm and tries to choke and stomp Santell out for trying to embarrass him. Running back elbows to the corner. Short clothesline for two! BRG turns on the bully juice and stomping the nerd into the ground. The crowd fires Santell back up with NERD chants! He tries a suplex but his back gives out after all that stomping. BRG to the top but Santell catches him up there….BRG reverses and flapjacks him down. Santel finally hitting uppercuts…but that’s all he can muster, BRG continues to focus the back. Whip to the corner, BRG comes charging…Santell with a powerslam and gets the three! 

Winner: Thomas Santell

Match 2: Anastasia Morningstar vs Karen Bam Bam

These two large women decide do a test of strength. It doesn’t last, Morningstar tries a lariat…gets a waist lock and BamBam uses her frame to dance free. Trading chops and forearms! Morningstar dodges a corner charge and shoulder blocks the midsection. Morningstar working the leg in the ropes…tries a slam but BamBam is too much. Rolling trip, BamBam rebounds with an elbow drop for two! Morningstar tries a crucifix rollup but BamBam gets an Armbreaker out of it. Morningstar escapes, gets BamBam up on her shoulders and drops her back for the three.

Winner: Anastasia Morningstar 

Match 3: JGeorge vs Tyree Taylor

JGeorge wants quiet on the set but we ain’t having it. Tyree is about to make JGeorge star in a monster movie. JG keeps trying to ambush Tyree but keeps getting caught. Taylor cartwheels out of an arm drag. Double chop when the director tries to call for a cut. JGeorge can’t handle this head on…but dodges and hits a backstabber for two. Scissor kick! Two count! Tyree with a flapjack out of the corner! JGeorge tries a rana but Tyree pops him up and hits a huge sitout powerbomb for the win!

Winner: Tyree Taylor

Tyree on the mic. He’s got something on his mind. He’s a little miffed that Beyond’s main roster treats Wrestling Open like the minor leagues….and he’s gonna do something about that. Stay tuned…because we’re gonna see this big boy in Foxboro.

Match 4: The Church of Greatness (Brother Greatness & Brother Jay Heru) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn)

BG tries to give a sermon but W&C really aren’t here for an audiobook. Heru tries to escape the dance but locked in a hey ho headlock. Brandyn taking the bill of the punishment, BG never gets his sermon though. Jordan with the hottest tag and destroys the Church. Huge spine buster to BG! Heru thinks he’s saving the match but walks into a Wave Check for the win! Great crowd response here! BG is none too happy with his disciple and says that everyone is going to pay for his sins. The crowd tries to jeer but he tells us to hush. Oh? 

Winners: Waves & Curls

Match 5: Landon Hale vs “The Shotcaller” Pedro Hales

It’s worth mentioning Landon Hale’s crowd reaction was very good this week after last week’s showing. Dones comes out to Teddy Goodz music, dancing to the ring to mock the man he laid out last week. He calls his shot and says he’s gonna break Hale’s neck this week. Dones coming in but Hale keeping him off balance with arm drags and dropkicks. Dones drops him into the top buckle and goes to work on that neck, as promised. Hale hits a couple of good chops but Dones hitting shots and twisting at the head. Hale escapes a piledriver, back drop! Flying tornado forearm! Monkey flip out of the corner but he’s showing the damage done to the neck. Dones with a knee to the back of the neck and drops Hale with a shoulder breaker to the knee. He called his shot for sure.

Winner: Pedro Dones 

Rich Palladino says that Teddy Goodz has challenged Dones to a match. Dones declines. He’s got his eyes on breaking down Little Mean Kathleen. He’s bringing Tina San Antonio in a couple of weeks to beat them in a mixed tag.

Match 6: CPA vs Love Doug

We’re going full on fun for this matchup! Doug has flowers for CPA! CPA is happy but Doug tries to roll him up. He broke his heart and CPA tries to give the flowers back. Doug chucks the flowers and blasts a knee to the face. CPA tries the Form 619 but Doug rebounds with a lariat and a face full of petals. Doug dropped to the rope…FORM 619! Kick out! Trading chops in the center! “You want me to love you???” CPA rips off another shirt to reveal a heart adorned tie underneath. Rolling DVD connects! Doug kicks out. Slice of Love! CPA tries to roll it up but Doug traps the legs and gets the three!

Winner: Love Doug

Match 7: The Wild Dogs (Ray Pittman & Johnny Rivera) vs Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King)

Will the Wild Dogs get their first win TONIGHT?!? The crowd is barking for them…but they have to fight Miracle Generation! Pittman gets the crowd barking again as he locks up with Waller. Waller getting the heat early but gets Rivera isolated in the MG corner. Kylon in with a cannonball. Wheelbarrow splash and running shooting star combo but Rivera kicks out! Pittman catches a cuttter to King for two! Wild Dogs double team but Waller cuts off the assault. Double head kick to Rivera. Lethal Injection to Rivera. Chasing the Dragon to Pittman puts these dogs down for the three.

Winners: Miracle Generation

The Church of Greatness ambushes Miracle Generation from behind. The Haven hit the ring to run them off??? We get what appears to be a small alliance forming here between these teams?

Match 8: “Platinum” Max Caster vs 1 Called Manders ($10,000 Challenge Match)

If Manders lasts 10 minutes with Casterc he gets the money! Welcome back to our real cowboy! YEE HAW! Caster’s early proclamation of being the best wrestler alive is in danger already from these shoulder blocks & straight fists. Caster takes the leg briefly but Manders blasts an elbow to the head. Chop block from Caster! Trap the leg in the ropes and kick it hard! Dragon screw! Max twisting at that leg for two! Figure four! Manders flips the hold! Caster tries a small package but Manders pummels with with punches, chops and a ddt for two. Manders tries to come into for the tackle but his knee gives out. Max comes in, big sitout powerbomb from Manders! Cowboy hitting chops and a headbutt. Max slips out of a top rope powerslam, Manders dropped to the canvas. Caster hits the Mic Drop and ends this challenge match in about 6 min.

Winner: Max Caster

Match 9: 50 Cal vs “Big Bacon” Brad Hollister

The crowd was VERY excited to see the returning 50 Cal and very unhappy when they realized what was going to happen when Bacon came through the curtain. Hollister looks almost amused by 50 Cal’s “twisted steel and sex appeal”. 50 Cal hits a shoulder block and takes Bacon off his feet. Uhoh. A headbutt starts the flurry. Bacon walks him down with chops, headbutts and a lariat for two. High angle German! Elbow drop to the back of the head. Another high angle German! Kick out! Bacon looks happy that he gets to hurt 50Cal some more. 50Cal reloads and drops Hollister with a suplex and crossbody for two! He gets the waist but Hollister catches a rear naked choke. 50 Cal tries to roll free but Hollister hangs on tight and puts him to sleep.

Winner: Brad Hollister.

Bacon grabs the mic and reapplies the RNC. He calls out Alec Price for a rematch anytime any place as 50Call continues to have the life choked out of him. Great promo spot.

Match 10: “The New Jersey Cowboy” Steven Stetson vs Fancy Ryan Clancy

Clancy is right into the Jersey cowboy’s face. Running corner dropkick! Clancy unloading chops and buckle shots. Stetson with a whip reversal but runs right into a big slam. Stetson with a reversal  and starting to lay in the heavy shots and tries to take Clancy’s head off. Clancy comes running into a sidewalk slam. Kick out! Fancy firing back and the crowd going wild! It is crazy how over Clancy here. Stetson tries a tights assist roll up. Clancy runs into a big boot! Small package rolls around the ring! Clancy staggers uo dizzy right into a huge lariat but Stetson is too wobbly to cover him! Stetson tries an AA but Clancy flips out and hits the side Russian leg sweep for the win! Great pop for the three count!

Winner: Ryan Clancy 

Main Event: “World Class” Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) vs Ichiban

Ichiban chases Thomas and Bakabella around the ring. Huge dive over the ref. Bakabella tries to interfere, the ref rips off his wig and throws him out of the building! Miracle Generation come and pick up Bakabella and carry him out of the room! Ichiban unloading on Channing but runs into a double knee out of the air. Ichiban dropped over the top rope to the floor. Thomas gives chase and blasts him off the apron. Thomas working Ichiban back in the ring, big suplex for two! Ichiban backdrops Thomas to the floor! Thomas doesn’t let that stand and tries to choke the life out of Number One. Ichiban firing up with dropkicks and running handspring back elbows! High crossbody from the top for two! Channing catches a cloverleafs but Ichiban pushes it off. Ichiban reverses and sinks into a sharpshooter! The crowd wants the tap! Channing is trapped in the hold. Someone sneaks out of the crowd and hits Ichiban in the face with white powder! Ichiban is blinded! Channing Thomas hits a piledriver for the pin! Bakabella sides back into the ring, he came in from the outside! What a snake!

Winner: Channing Thomas 

And that’s it for Week 19! Really enjoyed some of these big moments. Great main event but generally enjoyed most of the matches on the way there. The true cake was finding out there was no Ray Jaz on the—
