fter a very long hiatus, WOW- Women of Wrestling will return to production with three nights of TV tapings at the The Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, California on 5/5/22, 5/6/22, and 5/7/22. These shows are FREE to attend but you have to register for tickets.
The company held a Hollywood mainstream media press conference back in October to announce a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS for new WOW TV episodes to air in syndication every weekend on The CW and CBS stations starting this Fall 2022. This weekend's TV tapings will be those episodes.
The TV show previously aired on AXS TV in 2019 and earned critical acclaim for the quality production values and a serious in-ring product featuring stars like Tessa Blanchard and Thunder Rosa (as Serpentine).
When Anthem Sports & Entertainment acquired the majority stake of the network in August 2019 they took control of its programming. They canceled WOW and New Japan Pro Wrestling weeks later in order to have their own Impact Wrestling promotion as the only pro wrestling television show in the program lineup at the time (New Japan's TV show was brought back this year). WOW did do more rounds of TV tapings in September 2019 but they were then left without a television outlet. Those "never before seen" episodes began airing on Pluto TV and CW Seed in December 2021.
WOW had also planned to do a houseshow tour around America in 2020 but the world got hit by the COVID-19 pandemic to add to the bad luck timing of things. They have not held any events since the TV tapings in September 2019.
