Wrestling Open Week 17
4/28/22 - Worcester, MA
Streaming on IWTV.live
Y’all, it has been a WEEK. I am behind on so many shows I need watch but it is f***ing Thursday: I’m in Worcester, the Worcester Red Sox baseball is actually happening tonight, we have a double header tonight, with another Extra Inning taping happening later in the night, I’m writing a horrid run-on sentence but I don’t care. It’s time for WRESTLING OPEN. I sure hope Ray Jaz is here, I could use a good cathartic booooooo tonight.
<checks the lineup>
OH GOOD! The Jersey Legends take on Anthony Greene and the returning Encore! The reunited Shook Crew gets their hands on Brick & Mortar! Alec Price makes a SUP Bonestorm title defense against Anthony Henry in what should be an absolute banger of a match. But before all that we kick things off with our Spotlight Match!
Spotlight Match: Jay Heru vs Tyree Taylor
Sometimes these Spotlight matches are to give some completely new talent a chance to prove they should be on the main show. Sometime it’s time to kick us off with a good beatdown. This should be the latter. Short knees to the big boy back Tyree up but Heru has to TRY to whip him. Running elbows and a flying knee actually take the big boy from Brooklyn down. Heru making the mistake to pie face Tyree. Up and over in the corner, big enziguri and a body splash! Cravat into a twist neckbreaker, good spot. Big lariat! Sky high powerbomb seals the W for Taylor! I am pumped!
Winner: Tyree Taylor
Alright, time to kick off the main show! Did you know they sell Jell-O shots for $1 here?!? Paul Crockett is on commentary! Rich Palladino is your announcer. LET’S. F***ING. GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Match 1: “The Victorious BRG” Brett Ryan Gosling (w/ Steven Stetson & “his mighty steed Clip Clop” vs Fancy Ryan Clancy
So BRG has gone FULL COWBOY. I have no words. Stetson joins Paul Crockett on commentary, poor bastard. Clancy takes BRG’s mighty steed (a classic horse head on a stick toy) and deposits it in the trash. BRG takes a ride on the arm drag express as the crowd fires Clancy up. Elbow drop to the spine. Clancy stretching this kid hard and trying to pull his arm off. BRG with the escape and double axe handle. He tries again but eats a fancy punch to the gut. Duck the clothesline, punches, slam, he tries the side Russian but BRG goes for a jaw hold. BRG with a rollup but the ref catches him holding the rope. Clancy with the side Russian leg sweep and BRG is down and out! Stetson is none to happy that his precious little cow poke got pinned.
Winner: Fancy Ryan Clancy

Match 2: Anastasia Morningstar vs JC Storm
Demon vs Elemental. Morningstar throwing big arms but Storm staying away. Not for long and eats a big chop. Rana off the rope reversal. Storm with a top rope dodge but slips up and Morningstar taps her head off with a basement clothesline. Morningstar laying in the heavy shots, Storm trying a bounce back but gets slammed down. Splash from
Morningstar. Storm firing back, rana and a bulldog for two. They grapple and Morningstar hits a swinging flatliner for the win. This….did not work.
Winner: Anastasia Morningstar
Match 3: The Church of Greatness (Brother Sammy & Brother Perfect) vs Miracle Generation (Kylon King & Dustin Waller)
It is immediately worth noting that Brother Greatness is not at ringside…but I saw his merch so I know he’s HERE. Unsurprisingly, Miracle Generation runs the table on Sammy. Perfect tags in and wipes the up. Massive power. Dustin watched in horror Perfect lays into Kylon. Long heat segment on King as he gets ground down. King escapes, Dustin hot tag! Northern lights! Float over! Vertical suplex and a running shooting star for two! Sammy catches a flying Waller with a powerbomb. Nasty landing. Perfect in but King sends him flying to the outside. Sammy dropped on his dome and Miracle Generation hits Chasing the Dragon & picks up the W before Perfect can get back in!
Winners: Miracle Generation
Miracle Generation get the win over Sammy Diaz & LPP! That finish goes so hard #WrestlingOpen pic.twitter.com/GcWJPvqhfz

Match 3: Teddy Goodz vs….
Well who is Goodz fighting? They play music twice but no one shows up. Goodz goes looking for his oppo—Pedro Dones blasts him through the curtain with a mic. The Shot Caller walks him down and says these people don’t deserve to feel good. He clubs Teddy with the mic again and says he’s calling his shot on Goodz’ hands. He drags him to the timekeeper’s table and smashes his hand with the ring bell hammer. Oh god.
I see @cpawrestles brought his own Good Book to the fight against @bgreatness2012 #WrestlingOpen pic.twitter.com/nYwIsJPpVe

Match 3: Brother Greatness vs CPA
AWESOME. CPA brings a tax manual to the ring with him. It’s bigger than BG’s pocket bible. BG with a knee to the gut as he realizes he’s losing the battle of bookishness. BG falls victim to all of CPA’s best antics and atomic drops. He dodges the Form 619, using a tie as a distraction. He starts the beatdown as the crowd calls him a tax evader. BG tries a rope walk rams but CPA bombs him. Form 619! BG struggles but CPA hits Crunch some Numbers for two! BG with a throat chop and headbutt sends CPA from the top. Flying bulldog connects and BG gets the win! I have a plan for Brother Greatness for a future week. Anyways this match was a lot of fun!
Winner: Brother Greatness
Only guilty of getting our hand raised and having a good time! #JerseyLegends #ShoreThing

Match 4: The Jersey Legends (Raz Jaz & Tony Vincita) vs Anthony Greene & Encore
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We hate you, Ray Jaz. We are very excited for AG & Encore. Tony Vincita meets the educated feet of Encore and AG. The Legends are sent to the outside but they get over on Encore and start to lay in the beating. Tony takes AG off the apron and the Legends get some hard shots in on Encore. The crowd hates them these Jersey LOSERS but they are getting a good beating in on the Last Entertainer. Vincita cuts off AG again. Flapjack to Encore for two. AG gets the tag and he’s maaaaad. Jaz tries to beg off but AG hits a flurry of shots. Ropewalk crossbody for two! Vincita with the blind tag but AG is ready. Legends to the floor, Encore with the somersault to the floor! Vincita escapes a finish, AG sent to the post, he thinks he has Encore finished , but he kicks out as we have 30 seconds left. Doomsday dropkick to encore! AG send Jaz to the floor. Unprettier bulldog to Tony! Encore with the top rope splash! They get the pin with 2 seconds left on the clock!
Winner: Anthony Greene & Encore
Greene on the mic. He calls out the IWTV champion AC Mack, who stole Uncharted Territory and is currently holding that championship hostage in the Southeast. AG says he’s headed down to Tyrone, GA on May 6th to take that belt away from Mack. “NEWWWWWW CHAMP!“ says the crowd. We’ll see.
Match 5: “The Prize” Alec Price(c) vs Anthony Henry
We have a 60-min time limit on this one, kids! The crowd is so hot for Price. They have a little bit of one upsmanship at the start, Alec is cocky but Henry is going to grind the champ out. Henry trying to get in Price’s head but he’s either too stupid or overconfident or both to notice. Henry finally catches the champ with an apron neckbreaker reversal. Henry walking him down with shots and a harrrrrrdd shirt kick. Foot twist to the neck, Henry is in full predator mode. Crazy surfboard stretch into a dragon sleeper. Henry working over the limbs, not one, just all of them. Price firing back, big high knees! Tornado ddt! Price flies over the top to chase a powdering challenger. Henry with a brain buster! He tries for a Vertabreaker, Price rolls that up. Flying blockbuster for two! Henry sinks in A single leg crab, Price kicks free. Rollup for two! Superkick! Henry with a reversal powerslam into the buckles! Vertabreaker! Price kicks out! Henry doesn’t know what he has to do to kill this kid. He wants that Vertabreaker off the top but Price turns it into a double stomp! Suprize kick! Henry kicks out! Price screams and hits the Surprize kick for a second time for the pin! Fantastic! I expected this to be great. It absolutely was. :)
Winner: Alec Price
I still have to go through all the pics from tonight but this is just too good. #WrestlingOpen pic.twitter.com/tIhiDlrJ7J

Match 6: “World Class” Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) vs Ichiban
“HEY PAUL PUT HIM OVER HES THE BEST THING YOU GOT RIGHT THERE” screams a delirious Bakabella during the entrance. Ichiban made sure to bring his World Ass sign from a few weeks ago. Bakabella trying to interfere early but Ichiban is ready for it. Bakabella sure does hate that sign and almost chucks through a window. It’s worth mentioning that there’s a rope being held on Bakabella’s side to keep the smelly humans at bay. This is a back and forth battle through the match, much less one-sided that Thomas’s previous one on one matches. The fight spills to the outside, the count is going long. Thomas makes it back, Bakabella trips in front of Ichiban and prevents him from making the 10. Ichiban gets counted out but starts getting some shots on Sidney. Thomas ambushes and they go for his replacement mask. Miracle Generation makes the save!
Winner: Channing Thomas (by countout)

Main Event: The Shook Crew (Max Caster, Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando w/ Bobby Jr) vs Brick & Mortar (JCruz, Victor Chase & Mortar)
A grudge match weeks in the making, Orlando is all over Chase early. Bryce with the tag in the crowd chanting for the one-lunged Angel. JCruz can’t handle the shirt coming off and gets blasted with a tree of woe dropkick. Mortar in and whiffs a senton. Bobby in quick but Mortar runs for Chase. Caster in with an atomic drop and back drop to Chase. Chase stuns the AEW star and get the tag to Mortar….who quickly gets overloaded with forearms and Bobby tags in. Mortar dodges a charge to the corner, clap on the ears and Mortar tries to choke him out. Brick City laying into Orlando, step up enziguri for two. Miscalculation, Brick city wipes each other out. Caster in! Huge slam to Chase! Mortar thrown out, Bryce in to whip Chase into a double stomp from Caster! Bryce elbow drop! Chase kicks out! Distraction, Bryce hotshotted, Mortar with a splash for two! Bryce getting beat on, reversal sidewalk slam! Mortar tags in, Orlando hits the ring! Huge lariat! Mortar getting blasted into the buckles! Cruz accidentally spears Mortar! Chase added to the pile! They hit the deck before Bobby’s kill shot and try to leave! Orlando dives after them! Top rope drop kick to mortar! Brick city makes the save! Huge 6-man brawl! Orlando left alone, Chase with a piledriver! Mortar wants the cover, Orlando kicks out! Brick City holds Orlando for the crossbody but Shook crew sends BCB to the posts. Mortar is in trouble. Brick Coty tries to interfere. JCruznleft along, Orlando with a cutter. Caster with the mic drop, They hit a shield-style bobby bomb to get the pin on Cruz to win the main event! Bobby gets his 1on1 match with Mortar!
Winners: The Shook Crew

— RydeenBomb (@RydeenBomb) April 29, 2022
Max Caster reminds us that the full Shook Crew is baaaaaack. What is the stipulation that Orlando wants for his match with Mortar? Orlando says “STAY TUNED, I HAVE SOMETHING UP MY SLEEVE”.
And that’s it for Week 17 of Wrestling Open! We’re taking a break before Extra Innings kicks off! Look, this week was very good. Very very good. So watch it. The SUP title match and main event in particular were awesome and the crowd was extra hot tonight. Great energy all the way through and I’m pretty pumped headed into the second show. Until then!
