MOOSE VS. ALEXANDER REBELLION REMATCH, THE BRISCOES ARRIVE & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-04-28 22:00:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's Impact Wrestling on AXS TV report.

Before we start, a major thank you to Adam Cardoza for filling in for me last week on the TV and the Rebellion PPV reports.  You are the man sir.

We open with a look at what transpired at Rebellion.

We are in Poughkeepsie, NY at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center.

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions Violent by Design made their way to the ring.  Eric Young said power was what they wanted and what they accomplished.  They bear multiple teams at Rebellion and the picture the fans are looking at now of VBD is permanent.  If the fans are being honest, they know there's nothing anyone or any team can do about it.  He said the world belongs to them.  Rhino and Heath Miller came to the ring.  Rhino said they didn't get ther retribution they deserved at the PPV.  They have unfinished business and want a shot at the Tag Team titles.

Jay and Mark Briscoe came out, making their Impact Wrestling TV debut.  Jay said they are here and everywhere they've been, they've been champion and this place will be no different.  Heath said they are in the back of the line.    The Briscoes are in the back.  Jay said they aren't in the back of the line for anyone.  Heath said he and Rhino aren't letting them get in their way of winning the titles.  Eric Young said it looks like the four of them have a problem and they can figure it out themselves and then whoever's left standing can come see VBD.  The champs walked out.

Rhino said they want the titles more than the Briscoes and said they can fight right now.  They challenged The Briscoes.  The Briscoes agreed and called for a referee.

Mark and Jay Briscoe vs. Rhino & Heath Miller

Everyone battled.  Heath was sent to the floor.  Jay nailed a tope con hilo to the outside.  Mark went to the top and hit a moonsault to the floor on Rhino and Heath.  The Briscoes contolled Heath, double-teaming him.  Mark nailed a suplex for a two count.  Heath tried to battle out of their corner but was cut off.  Jay tagged in and drilled him with some stiff kicks and strikes until Rhino tripped him.  Heath knocked him to the outside, where Rhino clotheslined Jay on the floor.

After a commercial break, the tables had turned with Jay being worked over by Rhino and Heath.  Jay finally made the hot tag to mark, who wailed away with chops and strikes.  He nailed a leaping knee on Rhino.  The Briscoes took down the Manbeast with a double tackle but Heath broke it up.  Mark nailed a belly to belly suplex.  He and Rhino battled.  Rhino drilled him with a lariat but Jay broke up the pinfall.  Jay kicked Heath off the apron, leaving Rhino outmanned.  They continued working over Rhino.  Mark nailed a froggy bow elbowdrop and scored the pin.

Your winners, The Briscoes!

Good, physical match.

Backstage, Moose showed up and complained to Scott D'Amore Josh Alexander got six months to prepare for him but Moose only gets five days to prepare for a rematch.  Moose said he gave the company one of the best matches in history and this is how he is repaid.  D'Amore said he stayed out of Moose's way when he was the champion and now he's being given a chance to show he's a Wrestling God and he's the best.  The winner faces a hand-picked opponent at Under Siege.  Moose said he doesn't care about who's next and that Scott better be ready to console Alexander's family for what Moose is about to do to him.

They aired a vignette for the forthcoming EGV.

Bhupinder Gujjar vs. VSK

VSK attacked Gujjar before the bell but was caught with a leaping uppercut.  Gujjar nailed a big dropkick and clotheslined VSK in the corner.  VSL was sent into the ropes but retreated to the floor.  Gujjar teased a dive but VSK backed away.  Gujjar hit a pescado.  There's a nice intensity to Gujjar.  VSK caught him and snapped Gujjar's throat on the top rope and drilled him with stomps and punches to the head.  He drilled Gujjar with a knee.  They slugged it out.  VSK drilled him with a backbreaker across the knee.  They battled back and forth until Gujjar nailed a big spear for the pin off the ropes.

Your winner, Bhupinder Gujjar!

Raj Singh and Mahabali Shera made their way to the ring.  Shera and Gujjar went nose to nose.  Shera grabbed the discombobulated VSK and nailed a DVDR to show his power.  They went nose to nose again as Raj tried to hold them back, playing mind games.

X-Division Champion Ace Austin was interviewed by Gia Miller.  He said that he became champ again all on his own.  People claimed he couldn't do it on his own but he's Trey Miguel's greatest weakness.  Miguel will get hit with the Fold every time.  Rocky Romero showed up and said the New Japan Best of the Super Juniors tournament was coming up and he could put a good word in for Austin.  Austin said he liked that idea but this was his first interview as champion so get off his set and they can talk about it later.  Romero offered to wrestle him next week for the title and said he'll go talk to Scott D'Amore about it.  Austin said he's said enough and walked away.  He walked into Mike Bailey, who offered him congratulations.  Ace walked away and Bailey said that he thought they were friends.

They aired a Steve Maclin vignette.  He has stacked bodies and the body count just keeps rising after Rebellion.  There's only one choice at Under Siege.  What happens when Moose or Josh Alexander meets him?  It's mayhem for all.

The Motor City Machine Guns & Mike Bailey vs. Honor No More.

Bailey and Mike Taven began the match officially.  Honor No More swarmed over him and everyone brawled.  Bailey battled his way out of a triple team and nailed a series of karate kicks on Eddie Edwards.  Kenny King distracted him.  Everyone battled.  Edwards nailed a dive to the floor as they went to commercial.

When Impact Wrestling returned, Sabin was battling Edwards as they went back and forth.  Sabin backdropped him in the ring and The MCMG nailed their signature tag team bouts.  Mike Bennett and Bailey battled back and forth with strikes and kicks.  Bailey hit a twisting shooting star press but Honor No More made the save.  The Guns then made the save.  Everyone battled.  The Guns did  a double dream sequence into Bailey nailed a kick.  The Guns drilled Bennett with a double kick.  They nailed flying knee strikes to the outside.  Bailey nailed a flip to the floor.

The battle continued until Edwards nailed Die Hard Driver after the others drilled Bailey with superkicks, setting up the pinfall.

Your winners, Honor No More!

As Honor No More exited, Bullet Club came out and brawled with them, running them off.

Gia Miller interviewed new Impact Champion Josh Alexander.  He said that he's been taking it all in after the roller coaster of the last six months.  He's no longer the champion who never got to wrap the title around his waist.  He said Moose will get his title rematch tonight.  He said whoever is waiting for him at Under Siege, he'll be ready to face him.

New AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Taya Valkyrie came to the ring.  She said how hard the past year was, getting emotional. How she was a shell of herself, she didn't recognize herself and had her passion stripped away but sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to regain your passion and return to the the top.  She did that at Rebellion when she beat Deonna Purrazzo.  Purrazo attacked her and they brawled.  Taya's arm was snapped in an armbar.  Out came Decay's Rosemary and Havok, which led to Deonna releasing the hold. Deonna backed off.  Rosemary and Taya, old friends, stared at each other.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans vs. Decay.

They all slugged it out before the bell.  Evans and Steelz were tossed to the floor and worked over.   Decay controlled the scene on the floor.    Back in the ring, they finally rang the bell and Steelz was tossed across the ring with a Beel Toss by Havok, but landed in a scary way on her head, so it appears that's where the injury PWInsider.com reported earlier this week took place.

Decay double-teamed Steelz.  Rosemary nailed an exploder.  Steelz tagged out and remained laying on the apron.  Evans was caught in Rosemary's upside down armbar but grabbed her by the throat and powered her out of it.  Evans worked over Rosemary and tagged out to Steelz.  Steelz nailed several kicks and scored a two count after a running knee strike.  Evans tagged back in and nailed a series of shoulderblocks in the corner on Rosemary.  Rosemary escaped a DVDR attempt and made a hot tag to Havok, who nailed several big shots and kicked a charging Steelz in the face.  Steelz was down on the apron and went to the floor, grabbing the Knockouts title.  She tried to distract Havok but Rosemary pulled her off and nailed a lariat on the floor.  Steelz went down grabbing her neck.  Evans and Havok battled in the ring.  Decay double-teamed Evans and scored the pin.

Your winners, Decay!

Tenille Dashwood and Madison Rayne had the latest edition of All About Me.  Things are better now that The IInspiration and Kaleb with A K are gone.  They said there's not enough room in the locker room for them and us.  The lights go off and when they returned, Gisele Shaw was in the ring.  She said she thought she was lost but smelled insecurity and cheap perfume.  Tenille said that there's only room for them in the spotlight.  Shaw challenged her to a match next week.  Madison said she accepted.

They aired a Slammiversary PPV promo.

Backstage, Vincent did a cryptic promo about Jonah.  He said they are just like each other.  If you get cut, you bleed, but PCO is different.  Next week, there will be a Monster's Ball - PCO vs. Jonah.

Impact Champion Josh Alexander vs. Moose

Moose worked over Josh early but Josh fired back with hard chops and strikes.  Alexander nailed a big standing suplex and chopped away at the former champion.  He went for a anklelock but was kicked out of the ring as they went to commercial.  When they returned, Moose stomped away at Josh.  The champ went to the floor, where Moose rammed him into the ring apron.  Moose went for a pump kick but Josh blocked it and fired away with chops.  Moose rebounded with another pump kick and powerbombed Josh on the apron outside.

Moose locked on a big rear chinlock.  Alexander battled back but was attacked with a big kick to the back.  They slugged it out with Moose getting the advantage.  Josh absorbed it and fired back.  Josh nailed a big back suplex and then followed up with another.  Moose grabbed the ropes to prevent a third but was kicked.  Alexander went for the C4 Spike but Moose fought him off.  Josh went for the anklelock but transitioned it into a Sharpshooter.  Moose battled to the ropes and finally made it, forcing a break.

They began chopping the hell out of each other and then went nose to nose, thrashing the other with forearm strikes.  Moose went for a discus clothesline but Alexander smashed him with a strike.  Moose rebounded with a headbutt and went for a chokeslam but Alexander escaped and snapped him into an anklelock.  He kicked off Josh into the buckles and drilled him with a big uranage in the center of the ring.

Moose went for a powerbomb but Alexander dropped down, perhaps out on his feet.  Moose pulled him up and nailed a powerbomb into the top turnbuckle.  Moose set for a spear but changed his mind and instead went for another powerbomb.  Josh elevated out of it and smashed Moose with a big forearm.  He powerbombed Moose and nailed the C4 Spike, scoring the pinfall.

Your winner and still champion, Josh Alexander!

Good, hard fought bout.

New Japan Pro Wrestling's Tomohiro Ishii was revealed as the hand-picked challenger for Josh Alexander at Under Siege on 5/7.
