Meet & Greets before the TV taping show was Jay White and Rosemary. I didn't arrive in time for Rosemary.
Just like the day prior (Kenny King vs Crazzy Steve for BTI. King winning) the show started earlier than the tickets advertised. Saturday started at 7:15pm. Sunday at 7pm. Tickets said 7:30pm.
After the PPV Saturday night went off the air, Scott D'Amore came out and said Josh Alexander and Jade's son would be a IMPACT World champion in 18 years. Scott talked about how great Josh & Jade were. Willie Mack, Chris Sabin, Trey Miguel, Alisha Edwards and her children, Havok, & Bhupinder came down to the ring to celebrate.
Pre show meet & greet before PPV was Deonna Purrazzo and Good Brothers. Honor No More after PPV.
As part of being a Titanium ticket holder, I got to stand on the ramp with Josh Alexander's World Championship after the PPV. Referee Daniel Spencer disinfected the championship after going backstage, so I assume it was the World Championship Josh had. Spencer was nice. Referee Brandon Toele liked my Psycho Clown mask. John E Bravo was helping direct the ring crew to take down the ring. Bravo & Toele were very kind.
Both days Impact Wrestling didn't use the bleachers at the Mid Hudson Civic Center, having them pushed back for TV equipment. (Hard camera & Crane camera) plus a alcohol stand. Sunday's show had a lot of the floor seats removed. Much less people than PPV show.
Athletes from nearby Marist College appeared to have been given complimentary tickets and were wearing Marist red clothing. David Penzer talked about them being in attendance.
BTI Match #1 Vincent vs Crazzy Steve. Fans liked both. Fun antics between the two at the start. I was sitting directly to the right of the Ring bell, but I could hear Matthew Rehwoldt speaking on commentary on the other side of the ring. Vincent got the win.
BTI Match #2: Tenille Dashwood w Madison Rayne vs Giselle Shaw. I could hear Reheoldt speaking again during this one. I noticed like the night before there was a mic stand directly in front of me to capture crowd audio so I tried my best from this point on to make lots of noise. Tenille and Madison are two of my all time favorites so I enjoyed this match. Madison interfered in the match twice helping Tenille win with her running boot
Penzer cited free tshirts to try to get fans to make noise. Like the night before Penzer forgot where IMPACT airs. "The AXS TV and on social media to watch IMPACT Wrestling this Thursday". Later in the show someone finally told him to plug IMPACT Ultimate Insider on YouTube for $.99 and IMPACT Plus. "You can watch IMPACT Wrestling wherever you are even if you are on a African safari. As long as you have WiFi".
IMPACT 4/28
Violent By Design came out. Eric Young spoke and said at Rebellion they proved they were the best tag team in the world. Rhino & Heath came out and said they almost had the championships won. Rhino kept trying to get the fans to make noise. Briscoes would come out and say they wanted the tag titles. Briscoes and Rhino/Heath argued. EY said those two teams could face off. VBD left
Match #1 Briscoes vs Rhino/Heath. Fun match. Briscoes were going all out. I think Jay was wrestling injured, he kept having a really bad cough at ringside. You could see scars from his GCW match on his back. Fans did make noise for this one. Mark won with Froggy Bow on Rhino.
Match #2 VSK vs Bhupinder. VSK talked down Poughkeepsie as being upstate hicks, he's from Long Island. I went to use the bathroom and get a bottle of water. Came back just in time to see Bhupinder win. Shera came out afterwards with Raj Singh. Shera got in Bhupinder's face. Shera then slammed VSK. Shera got back in Bhupinder's face as Raj Singh separated them as the fans chanted "Let them fight!"
Match #3 Honor No More(Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, & Eddie Edwards) with Honor No More (except no PCO or Vincent) vs Mike Bailey & Motor City Machine Guns. Bailey was as impressive as always and the fans were loud for him. In the end Kenny King tripped Bailey as Maria distracted the referee. Allowing Taven to pin Bailey.
As Honor No More was leaving, Bullet Club came out. They stared each other down then fought from the ramp into the ring. Bullet Club stood alone in the end
During the break Penzer asked the hardcore Matt Taven fan club if they would be in Nashville for Slammiversary. They said if contracts were signed. Penzer said that was above his pay grade.
Taya Valkyrie came out with the AAA Reina de Reina Championship. She said how hard the past year was, getting emotional. How she was a shell of herself, she didn't recognize herself, creative plans didn't work out. She asked if the fans knew what she was talking about. Taya said she was talking about jail, what did the fans think she was talking about. Now in a happy mood. She talked about how much the AAA Reina de Reina Championship means to her, when Deonna Purrazzo attacked her from behind. They fought in street clothes until Rosemary and Havok came down to the ring. Deonna fled the ring before Rosemary arrived. Rosemary and Taya looked at each other until Tasha Steelz music played. Taya left.
Match #4: Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans vs Rosemary and Havok. Early in the match Tasha was in the ring with Rosemary then suddenly was laying down in the corner with referee Brandon Toele talking to her for over a minute. Tasha got back up and continued for a bit before tagging in Savannah. Tasha got thrown out of the ring and laid on the floor holding the back of her head. Havok got the win on Savannah. Referee Toele went and stayed by Tasha for a few minutes then yelled for water from the production assistant. Toele and Savannah helped Tasha to her feet and the back.
Match #5: IMPACT World Championship: Josh Alexander vs Moose. Fun match. The Marist College athletes really liked Moose. Dueling chants for Josh and Moose. Josh had Moose in the sharpshooter at one point. Moose controlled for a while towards the end until Josh hit a desperation C4 to get the win. Tomohiro Ishii then came out and got in Josh's face. Ishii wouldn't shake Josh's hand.
Penzer asked the fans to boo for cameras for 30 seconds. Penzer asked the fans to cheer for the cameras for 30 seconds. Told fans this is the last show before Under Siege
IMPACT 5/5
1st match: Tables match: Brian Myers vs W Morrissey. During the match, Matt Cardona came out and attacked Morrissey. Morrissey overpowered Major Players, Then Chelsea Green came out. Morrissey was distracted trying to attack Chelsea, allowing Major Players to regain control. Major Players tried to ram a table into Morrissey but he moved, breaking the table in two against the ring post. Jordynne Grace then ran out. Grace held Cardona on her shoulders as Morrissey gave him a big boot with Jordynne powerbombing Cardona through a table in the corner of the ring. Myers attacked Morrissey with a broken half of a table but Morrissey wouldn't stay down, throwing Myers out of the ring through a table to win
2nd match: IMPACT X-Division Championship: Ace Austin vs Rocky Romero. I was happily surprised to see Rocky. Fans behind Rocky. Fun match. Ace retained. Ace taunted Rocky after the match and Trey Miguel ran out attacking Ace & chasing him away.
3rd match: Masha Slamovich vs Damarius. Squash match. Masha no longer has Russian colors for gear, now black/red. Although you could hear her talking in Russian in the ring.
4th match: Bullet Club (Jay White & Chris Bey) vs Willie Mack & Rich Swann. Jay mocked Willie & Rich's music/dance. It was fun. Bullet Club won in the end. Honor No More (minus PCO and Vincent) came out and attacked White & Bey until the Good Brothers came out clearing the ring with Bey & White.
5th match: Tomohiro Ishii vs Steve Maclin. Great hard hitting match. Fans seemed quiet though as I could hear Matthew Rehwodlt on commentary again. Awesome exchange with Maclin and Ishii going back & forth. Fans did cheer for Ishii when they made noise. Ishii got the win.
Penzer said he thought Impact would be back to Poughkeepsie but no date. Said to watch "AXS TV Wrestling, each week on AXS TV and Impact's social media"
6th match: Monster's Ball match: PCO vs Jonah. They started on video backstage of them fighting then to the stage then the ring. Throwing into the ring many chairs, a ladder, cookie sheets & trash cans. PCO took some big bumps on chairs multiple times. Jonah got a sledgehammer out from under the ring. PCO kept getting up even after being slammed onto a ladder. PCO used the sledgehammer to knock Jonah off the apron through a table. PCO then won with two moonsaults off the top rope.
After the show the meet and greet was Chelsea Green and Matt Cardona. They were very kind to everyone. Cardona letting people hold his IMPACT Digital Media championship. I think Chelsea recognized my Hana Kimura shirt I was wearing as I thought she looked at my shirt twice as I got my picture taken.
I enjoyed both nights of IMPACT Wrestling in Poughkeepsie. Hope they return for Live events, TV or PPV.
