BAUTISTA-GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY RIDE OPENING NEXT MONTH, ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE TO SCREEN 'THEY LIVE'

By Mike Johnson on 2022-04-25 10:18:00

The latest Disney attraction themed to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Cosmic Rewind at Epcot in Florida, will officially open on 5/27.  The indoor roller coaster is being promoted as riders getting a chance to "Take off on an intergalactic chase through space and time with the Guardians of the Galaxy."  There is no official word whether Dave Bautista has filmed material as Drax for the attraction, but given that he did so for The Mission: Breakout ride at Disney's California Adventure, it's likely there will be some cameo at least.

Bautista will be seen as Drax in three additional Marvel projects, Thor: Love and Thunder, this winter's Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney+ and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is expected to be the final time that Bautista and the rest of the Guardians cast all appear together.

The Alamo Drafthouse theater chain will be playing the legendary "They Live" starring Roddy Piper in August.  Check your local Alamo locations to see if it will play in your area.  Piper stars as John Nada, a homeless construction worker who stumbles upon the truth that aliens have taken over and enslaved mankind.  The film, directed by John Carpenter and co-starring Keith David and Meg Foster, opened at the top of the box office when it was released in November 1988, garnering $13,008,928 domestically over its four week run.   The fight scene between Piper and Keith David is often celebrated as one of the best movie fight sequences of all time.
