IMPACT Wrestling
4/22/21 - The 2300 Arena
We get a quick recap of Honor No More’s brawl with Bullet Club, as well as PCO’s clash with Jonah. Jonah did his damndest to make sure the French Frankenstein stayed down with chair shots, a backdrop to the railing and a huge post match frogsplash.
Match 1: Violent By Design (Eric Young & Deaner w/ Joe Doring) vs Decay (Black Taurus & Crazzy Steve)
I feel like 75% of the Random Impact shows I’ve covered in the last year or so have started with a Decay match (and I am not sad about this). Black Taurus comes out bit but VBD uses the numbers game to take control of the big man. Deaner with a shotgun dropkick to the rear, torpedos Black Taurus into the buckles. Young with a cutter for two. Crazzy Steve gets the hot tag and turns the tide and gives Deaner a good snap to the neck. Bites the head and dropkicks Young off the apron. Huge cannonball to Deaner…TORNADO PEDIGREE!!! Young with a top rope legdrop to save the match. Black Taurus is back in but Doering pulls him out and runs him in the stairs. The ref is distracted, Young blasts Steve with the flagpole and Deaner plants him with a ddt to get the win!
Winners: Violent By Design
Good little video montage recapping how Moose sniped the Impact Heavyweight Championship away from Josh Alexander and the Walking Weapon’s long path back to the belt he should have been holding this whole time. This gets settled at Rebellion this Saturday!
Back from commercial we get a promo for “Under siege” on May 6th. Backstage, Decay is tending to an injured Black Taurus as Tasha Steel and Savannah Evans ambush Rosemary ahead of their match at Rebellion.
Brian Myers & Matt Cardona (w/ Chelsea Green) are out here for a promo after their attack on W Morrissey last week. The Major Players are here. Cardona reminds every one in the ECW Arena that he’s the death match king. And the digital media world champion. He wants more gold though and the Major Players want some tag team gold. Myers admits that haven’t always seen eye to eye in Impact but now they are on the same page, being the best versions of themselves. Green calls them the strongest unit in professional wrestling. They’re. Taking. Over. FBI IS HERE?!?! Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke are headed to the ring and I think we have a match?!? Guido puts over the history of the venue and the people who paved the way for Cardona & Myers. Guido calls them Major Sissies. Cardona says they haven’t been relevant since ECW died 20 years ago. FBI runs them off and Guido challenges Cardona for the Digital Media Title?!?! There’s a ref! We have a title match!
Match 2: Matt Cardona(c) w/ Chelsea Green & Brian Myers vs Guido Maritano w/ Tony Mamaluke (for the Impact Digital Media Championship)
Guido comes in hard and controls Cardona early. Gutwrench takedown for two. Cardona blocks a chop block but Guido using his wrestling chops to hit some fireman’s carry takedowns that stun the champ. Guido takes it to Cardona on the outside, Myers runs interference and Cardona gets a low blow in via the ropes. Guido blasted into the barricade and the tide has turned hard. Cardona choking him with his shirt. Guido with the side Italian leg sweep, two count! Sicilian Slice! Kick out! Myers with another distraction, a more blatant low blow from Cardona and hits Radio Silence for the pin!
Winner: Matt Cardona
Major Players set up a table for Guido. W Morrissey is down here and looking for blood. Green hits a low blow and Myers looks to powerbomb Morrissey?!? Jordynne Grace is out to make the save! Cardona tries to interfere but she drops him. Grace sets up Cardona and Morrissey hits a chokeslam through the table!
Honor No More is backstage and have their sights set on the tag team championships, as well it seems.
Jonah promo where he warns Tomohiro Ishii of his impending fate at Rebellion after what he did to PCO.
Match 3: Shera (w/ Raj Singh) vs Gabriel Rodriguez
Gabriel dies a quick death at the hands of the Indian Lion. Shera launches him across the ring and hits a high angle sitout powerbomb for the emphatic W.
Winner: Shera
Moose is backstage with Scott D’Amore, asking for assurances of his safety when he goes out to apologize to Josh Alexander and his family for his actions.
Match 4: Honor No More (Vincent, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Kenny King w/ Maria Kinellis & Eddie Edwards) vs Bullet Club (Chris Bey, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & Jay White)
Wild 8-man tag setting up here. Gallows showing his power early on Bennet. Taven and White have a great shouting match before getting to work. Great agile stalemate between Bey and King. Taven with a distract, TKO facebuster to Bey! Bennet with a brain buster for two and trying to get under their skin with their two sweets. Lots of back and forth action and tags. I’m just sitting back and enjoying this, to be honest. White with a spinning suplex to Vincent takes control for two. Gallows in with a big head kick…They want the magic killer but Taven makes the save. White with a saito! King with a tiger driver! Springboard cutter from Bey to King! Bey takes flight and the crowd pops. Bennett back in, Anderson hits gunstun because Gallows is in to hit the Magic Killer and get the win! This was a lot of fun. All go no slow. Really enjoyed this.
Winners: Bullet Club
Steve Maclin promo and he talks about why he jumped Chris Sabin. Backstage with the IInspiration, signing autographs. They are stars and talk about how they removed the Influence from their world (and Kaleb especially). They promise to become tag team champions again. Taya Valkyrie is backstage and wants the AAA Reina de Reinas championship from Deonna Purrazzo.
Match 5: Speedball Mile Bailey & Ace Austin vs Laredo Kid & Trey Miguel
Austin seems to have jumped the gun on his entrance to maybe take some of his shine away. This is a cool tag match. As expected, this is hot and fast. Speedball and Laredo damn near kill each other on a tope suicida to the barricades. Wild shot. Laredo lights up Bailey but Ace makes a blind tag and lays into him. Trey tags in and gives Austin some hard shots from his deadly feet. Speedball with a step up enziguri off Austin wipes out Kid! Double dive! Trey with a ripcord and drops Austin on his head, Bailey makes the save and this might be a viable team? Bailey sets up Miguel for a buzzsaw kick, Laredo off the top wipes him out. Austin goes for the kill but Miguel rolls him up and sinks back for the three!
Winners: Trey Miguel & Laredo Kid
Ace Austin ambushes his opponents and tries to get Speedball in on the beatdown. Speedball winds up and kicks Austin’s head off! Guess this isn’t a team anymore!
Backstage, Honor No More is firing themselves up for getting the tag team championships this weekend despite their loss earlier. Vincent excuses himself and heads to a car to grab some jumper cables. A lady is singing in the background. Strings. Vincent smiles as he enters a garage and stands over the fallen body of PCO, strapped to a table. It’s time for some Frankenstein s***. He hooks up the jumper cables to the monster and sends volts to the bolts. “Cmon PCO THE WORLD NEEDS A MONSTER!” Vincent wills PCO back to life as lightning hits and the big man sits up in a rage. HEEEEEEEE’S NOT HUUUUUMAN. I suspect some people will hate this. I didn’t. This was great.
It’s time for Moose to issue a public apology to Josh Alexander. Security surrounds ringside and Scott D’Amore waits on the champ. Moose has brought his attorney, RD Evans (squeeeeeeeee!!!!) to read the statement. “to whom it may concern”….lol. Evans says that Moose understands his actions crossed the line. Moose says the statement isn’t sincere enough so he takes the mic. He says no family deserves to go through what he put Josh’s family through. “Josh. I’m sorry…for showing all these people how much of a loser you are”. Heeeeere we go. He apologizes for exposing him as being unable to protect his family. Moose plans on hurting Alexander at Rebellion. Unsurprisingly, Josh Alexander is out here and goes through the security guards. Scott D’Amore gets in the middle and waves the guards off and lets Josh pass. They go face to face and right into the brawl! Moose throws Evans in for a distraction and takes control for a moment. Josh with some stuff kicks but Moose catches him running and hits a pair of uranages. He grabs a table from ringside. Josh fighting off the champ and hits the C4 spike off the apron through the table!!! Alexander drops the belt across Moose’s chest and says he has two days left. The crowd chants for the Walking Weapon as we fade to black! Rebellion is this Saturday on Fite Tv and Impact Plus!
