It is Saturday, and AEW is at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland Texas for Battle of the Belts 2, taped after Rampage last night. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.
Scorpio Sky (TNT Champion) vs Sammy Guevara
Scorpio has been unbeaten in singles action for 402 days as we go into this match.
Sammy rushes Sky into the corner and starts beating him down. Sky takes Sammy down with a double leg take down and works him over on the mat. Sky takes Sammy to the corner and pummels him in the corner. Sammy reverses and does the same thing and then tosses him to the mat and keeps punching. Sammy tries for a suplex and Sky blocks it. Sammy drapes Sky and starts grinding across his face. Sky takes advantage of the break and tries for the TKO, but Sammy escapes.
The run the ropes and Sammy drops Sky with a drop kick. Sky rolls to the outside to regroup. Sammy attacks Sky from behind and then tosses him into the barricade. Sky is able to reverse the attack and drops Sammy across the barricade. Sky keeps up the attack tossing Sammy into the ring steps. Sammy is able to put on the brakes and Sammy hits a standing moonsault.
They return to ring and fight on the apron. Sky hits a TKO on the apron and we go to picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Sky picks up Sammy, puts him in the corner and beats him down like he’s working out on the heavy bag. Sky hits a brutal back breaker and then kneels next to him, taunting him. Sky hits a second back breaker. The crowd chants for Sky to do it again. Sky hits a third and keeps him on his knee to stretch him. Sky goes for a forth, and Sammy is able to escape and hit an insigiri. Sammy has his rally, hitting clotheslines and a Spanish Fly for a two count.
Sammy is able to hit a leaping mule kick and then calls for the 450. Ethan Page runs to the ring and pulls Sky out of the way. Tay Conti gets in Page’s face and Sammy is able to take out Page and Sky on the floor with a shooting star press. They return to the ring and Sky gets a quick small package for a two count. Sky hits a German into the buckle for a two count.
Sammy fights out of the TKO and hits the two jump cutter from the ropes for a two count. Dan Lambert gets on the apron to distract the ref as Sammy and Sky struggle. Sky is able to grab the ropes to stop a German from Sammy, but Tay Conti slaps his hands so that Sky lets go of the ropes and Sammy hits the suplex for a two count. Dan calls for Paige Vanzant, and she charges into Tay and they brawl on the ramp.
In the ring, the ref is distracted and Sammy hits a low blow on Sky. He lifts Sky on his shoulders for the GTH, covers Sky for the three count.

Jonathan Gresham (Ring Of Honor World Champion) vs Dalton Castle
ROH’s Bobby Cruise does the ring announcing. ROH referee Paul Turner is the referee for the match
Dalton Castle comes to the ring with The Boys, so I guess they aren’t Baby Chickens any more.
Gresham is billed as being part of the Foundation, so that faction is still going.
They shake hands before the bell. They lock up and then trade arm arms. Gresham takes Castle down with a side headlock, and Dalton escapes and rolls to the outside for The Boys to cool him off with fans.
Dalton rolls back in and they move to mat wrestling, with Dalton getting a side waist lock after picking a leg for the take down. Dalton tries for a gut wrench, but Gresham lands on his feet, and Dalton drops Gresham onto the mat. He grabs Gresham’s legs, and Gresham is able to escape and the match resets.
Dalton gets an elbow strike and a clothesline. They run the ropes and it ends with Gresham getting a rope assisted Hurricanrana. Gresham gets a drop kick and then takes Dalton down with an arm drag as we go picture in picture.
We we return to full screen, Gresham is trying to lock on the octopus hold. Dalton makes it to the ropes for the break. They lock up again and he is able to put on the octopus hold and Dalton falls into the ropes. Dalton rolls out of the ring and Gresham leaps out of the ring, but misses Dalton. Gresham tries to toss him into the ring, but Dalton uses the momentum to spin on the mat and give Gresham a Hurricanrana.
Dalton tosses Gresham into the ring and they go to the corner, and each misses as the other dodges. Gresham gets an elbow, but Dalton gets an overhead throw. Dalton gets gets a leg grab into a suplex. Dalton then gets a deadline overhead suplex and a two count. Dalton keeps Gresham on the mat and then brings him up into the ropes. The jockey for position in the corners and Dalton is able to get Gresham up for the Bangarang, but Gresham slides down for an inside cradle and a two count.
They then trade quick roll ups as they have each other in the small package. Gresham gets an insigiri and Dalton takes him down with a clothesline. Gresham is able to lock in the octopus in the center of the ring and Dalton has to tap out.
Winner and still Ring of Honor World Champion: Jonathan Gresham
Great match by both guys showing their style.
As they shake hands, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh, who destroys everyone as he goes to the ring. Lethal sneaks into the ring and hits Gresham with the Lethal Injection. Singh then slams Gresham into the mat over and over. Lee Moriarty comes to the ring and Matt Sydal comes down on crutches, and Lee gets pancaked. Matt is about to get slammed when Samoa Joe goes out with the belt and a lead pipe. Joe clears the ring and Lethal and his crew leave the ring and go to the back.
Thunder Rosa (AEW Women’s Champion) vs Nyla Rose
Vickie Guerrero is not with Nyla tonight.
They lock up and Nyla is able to drop Rosa and then rolls out of the ring to brawl at ringside. After Nyla beats her down Rosa is able to get a backdrop bulldog and tosses Nyla into the ring. Rosa hits a drop kick off the top and covers for a one count. Rosa keeps Nyla down with kicks and a sliding lariat. She hands out a lot of strikes until Nyla gets to her feet. Rosa gets tossed into the ropes and Nyla just beats her down on the ropes and then into the corner.
Nyla runs at Rosa, and Rosa is able to get the low bridge to put Nyla on the floor. Rosa leaps onto Nyla, and Nyla hits a power bomb on the apron as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Nyla hits a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Nyla grabs the ankle of Rosa and slams her knee into the mat. They are both on their feet and are throwing hands in the middle of the ring. Rosa moves to clotheslines and is able to get a stunner, which takes Nyla down. Rosa hits a series of leaping kicks on Nyla in the corner. She then drop kicks Nyla out of the ring. She hits a baseball slide on Nyla and then goes to the top.
Rosa hits a tornado from the top onto Nyla on the floor. Rosa rolls Nyla into the ring and then goes to the top again. She hits a diving cross body, but Nyla rolls through the impact and takes down Rosa. She drapes Rosa onto the top rope and goes to the top for the guillotine knee drop. Rosa knew it was coming and dodged the attack, runs to the top and Goes for a flying head scissors, but Nyla catches her. Rosa slides down for the Code Red and the two count.
Rosa charges up and runs at Nyla and Nyla hits a short arm clothesline for a two count. She picks Rosa up from the mat and hits a choke slam. Nyla then goes to the second rope. She leaps down, Rosa gets the boot up, but Nyla knew it was coming. She picks up Rosa, who escapes out the back. Rosa sends Nyla into the ropes and Nyla clotheslines Rosa down for a two count.
Nyla hits a stalling jack hammer suplex for a two count. Nyla puts Rosa on the edge of the apron and goes up to the middle rope. Nyla goes for a diving senton, but Rosa dodges it. Rosa gets a quick roll up for a two count. Nyla picks up Rosa and does a quick slam for a two count. Rosa gets a quick roll up for another two count. Rosa hits a Hurricanrana for a roll up, the three count and the win.
