Wresting Open Week 15

4/14/22 - Worcester, MA

Streaming on IWTV.live

We are back at the World Famous White Eagle for a very special Thursday night double header! The Worcester Red Sox are scheduled to play next door tonight and maybe we’ll catch some of their party-hungry post-game crowd for the second show! Maybe we’ll break the attendance record again after last week’s recording setting crowd of 163? Regardless, Rich Palladino is your announcer. Paul Crockett is your commentary. Both men better have their voices prepped because we have a lot of wrestling tonight! Let’s gooooo!

Spotlight Match: Perfect Perkins vs Kenny Bengal

Perkins shows power with a big shoulder. Perkins blocks an Armdrag but a mistimed up and over introduces boots to the head. Big boot to Bengal and some push-ups for good measure. Trading some strikes, Bengal goes for a ride corner to corner. Long delay vertical suplex. Some really awkward transitions through this match. Bengal fighting back with chops. Perkins with a powerbomb and stacks him with a muscle man squat for the pin. That pin was great.

Winner: Perfect Perkins

“The Alternative” Anthony Greene is here at Wrestling Open! He’s here for a VERY specific reason tonight. He hypes us up for  the war of the Graysons, the student/teacher collision, and the Extra Innings card later. He joins Paul Crockett at the commentary table.

Match 1: The Jersey Legends (Raz Jaz & Tony Vincita) vs Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King) (No Time Limit)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - Ray Jaz says he’s giving us a tip but he mostly uses his mic time to take a few shots at Anthony Greene on commentary. Dustin Waller flies off the top and wipes out the Legends right off the bat. They try to regroup on the floor and King is right out at them. Hot start for the Generation but the Legends take over and start to grind King out. Walker finally tags in, Vincita dumped but Jaz lands a flying heel kick. King tries to save his partner but Tony drags him to the outside. Roaring elbow to Waller. King hits a huge suplex and Jaz powders out to get in AG’s face. He slaps AG and Greene strikes back, promoting the ref to ring the bell. The Jersey Legends stomp out AG and Miracle Generation make the save. They brawl to the back as the ref throws the match out. Match was a lot of fun…but I can’t wait for the epic length version of this feud.

Winner: No Contest

Match 2: Zamaris Dawkins vs JC Storm

Strong grappling around the rings. pretty even to start. Dawkins with a basement clothesline for an early two. Dawkins with another on a suplex. Storm firing back with a head scissor and a bulldog for a near fall. Big slam from Dawkins and almost gets it herself with a northern lights. Storm with a pair of kicks and a spear to get the win.

Winner: JC Storm

The Stetson Ranch is out here. Fancy Clancy doesn’t really WANT to tag with Stetson this week after Stetson stole his pin this week….but Stetson decided to fire his analytics team and the new team agrees that Brett Ryan Gosling is a better partner and Clancy is now FIRED from the Stetson Ranch. Clancy heads to the commentary table. I guess this is a “Paul needs Friends” night.

Match 3: The Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Brett Ryan Gosling) vs The Haven (Jay Onyx & Shawn Knyte)

BRG struts around the ring. He is REALLY on this cowboy s***. Knyte takes him for a arm draggin’. Haven punching him out in the corner. Double backbreaker, double slam. Stetson isn’t dating much better since the Haven is an actual TEAM…with like…team moves and planning and stuff. Stetson with a cheap shot and a backbreaker finally takes control on Knyte.    Knyte with a lariat reversal out of the control stuns BRG. Tag to Onyx! Stetson taking bumps! Big back drop. Back stabber for two! BRG trips up Onyx and he misses a top rope elbow. Stetson wipes out Knyte, he readies a big lariat…Clancy up from the table and he distracts his former teammates…Onyx rolls up Stetson! Haven wins! Good story here and the crowd definitely pops for Clancy finally being freed of this yoke.

Winners: The Haven

The Ranch stares down Clancy in the ring and it becomes a straight up 2on1 beat down on the fancy one. They raise their hands and leave Clancy laying in the center.

Match 4: Eric James vs CPA

What’s the higher number: The different off keys that Eric James sang in for his entrance or the number of shirts CPA is wearing? It might be the same as CPA is wearing at LEAST 4 buttonups tonight. James is definitely flummoxed by CPA early but starts to lay in some hard shots…and then CPA fires right up. Big boot, back drop…he escapes the TKO with a rollup. DVD for two! James rakes the eyes, dropped to the top buckle. TKO to the knee! James gets the three! CPA matches are fun and Eric James is getting increasingly hated so this was a good time.

Winner: Eric James

Rich Palladino is out to interview Big Bacon Brad Hollister. Rich wants an explanation for his actions last week. Brad directs his comments at Alec Price. He gets on Price for letting the fans gas him up. He says that actions speak louder than words (and Proce does talk pretty loud) and walks off.

Match 5: Brick City Boyz (JCruz & Victor Chase) vs Wild Dogs (Johnny Rivera & Ray Pittman)

Pittman comes in hot and sends Chase for the ride early. Rivera with a scoop slam and splash for two! Cruz wants a piece. He grinds Rivera’s eyes across the ropes and the Boyz get to work. Rivera clubbed down over and over but he won’t stay down. Pittman tags in. He’s looking good for a pounce but Chase in with a spear. They Hit the Bricks on Pittman to close this out in 5. The Wild Dogs are so over and someday they will get that W.

Winners: Brick City Boyz

Match 6: RJ Rude vs Ichiban

Ichiban breaks RJ Ride’s air guitar. Ichiban is on fire. Rude with a cheap shot…who brings TWO air guitars to a wrestling match?!? We like the number one? Rude hits several single stomps in the corner. Big powerbomb! Ichiban firing back up. Handspring back elbow! Several punches in the corner! Rude tries to spring off the ropes, Ichiban catches him out of the air with a flatliner to get the pin! Really liked this finish.

Winner: Ichiban

Rich asks Ichiban his thoughts on World Class Channing Thomas. Ichiban runs to grab a marker and posterboard. He’s kicking his feet while he draws. It’s adorable. His sign?

Match 7: Even Stevens (Stephan Azure & Steve Somerset) vs Shook Crew (Bobby Orlando & Bryce Donovan)

Welcome back, Bryce Donovan!!! Our mom Bobby goes to work on Somerset early. Take the back, Bring in Bobby Jr, Somerset takes a reverse rana from a stuffed goat?!? Donovan tags in. He shows that he has not lost a step as he works Somerset down for a posing pin. Azure in but he doesn’t fare too well. He gets a shove to Bryce into the corner, connecting the buckles with Donovan’s surgically repaired side. Even Stevens going for it all now and Donovan takes a lot of heat. The crowd keeping him alive with chants of “One Lunged Angel” until Orlando makes the tag. Bobby going wild! That’s my mom!   Even Stevens gets to the floor, Bobby Jr sent flying! Bobby joins him! Sick tricks! Azure brought in for a crossbody suplex off the top combo for the win! Super fired up crowd for Shook Crew’s return.

Winners: Shook Crew

Orlando welcomes Bryce back and calls out the Bish City Boyz. They decide to make an appearance. Orlando has a proposal…next week. They’ll bring Caster in and they can fight Brick & Mortar in a trio. Cruz says HOW BOUT NO? Bobby says they can pick an opponent for next week and if Bobby beats them….he gets his 6-man match. They confer…and agree. The Brick City Boyz have an idea. Uh oh.

Brother Greatness is here! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! SATAN! He’s tired of our sinning ways. He asked Wrestling Open to send their greatest sinner so he can show us the error of our ways. Oh boy he’s f***ed.

Match 8: Brother Greatness vs “The Prize” Alec Price

The Northeast Beast is here and Brother Greatness can only hold his pocket bible out in defense. We call him “Jesus Price” and BG freaks out and lays in the early beatdown. Price fires back up, big Gotch powerbomb. Neckbreaker to the knee! Flying knees! Price taken off the ropes, the collection plate goes flying! Great spot. Flying kick for two! BG to the top! Price catches him! Superkick! Vertical Facebuster! Torture Rack Snake Eyes and BG is down for the three! BG didn’t have a chance but this was a really entertaining segment. I very much enjoyed this.

Winner: Alec Price

Price has words for Brad Hollister. If actions speak louder than words, Price is standing RIGHT HERE. He says the only reason people forgot about Bacon is because he wasn’t good enough to get out of the Northeast.

Match 9: Matt Taven vs Love, Doug

Student vs Teacher tonight, Doug gets his wish for a match against his mentor! They hug before the bell. They hug after the bell. This is wholesome. Doug has a special present for Taven….A PURPLE PETAL SHOWER! Taven with a series of big chops and he lays into his student for clowning. Huge back body drop as the crowd turns on Taven harrrrrrd. Taven stomping him out but Doug firing back with a drop kick. Taven knees free of a cravat. Doug tries a headlock but Taven just chucks him face first into the buckles. Doug with a rollup for two! Taven catches him again and slaps him hard. Doug with the take down and series of punches. He tries a sunset flip but Taven hits a knee for two. Jawbreaker! Reverse atomic drop! Neckbreaker! Taven reverses with a spinning kick. He keeps trying a cocky pin but Doug ain’t having it. Top rope bulldog! Taven kicks out! Sliced bread! Eric James is out here singing and distracting Doug. Taven recovers and hits a headlock driver for the pin! Good story! Taven was awesome here.

Winner: Matt Taven

Eric James heads into the ring and sings Bye Bye Bye at him as Doug lays there in pain. Mic drop! Doug has it. He screams for Eric and chases him into the back!

Main Event: JP Grayson vs Tommy Grayson (Chairs are legal)

Cue the competing “Let’s Go Grayson” chants! Right to the brawl at the bell! JP dumps his brother out to the floor. Chairs are legal and Tommy is used to wipe out a section of them. Huge chair shots from JP!  Tommy getting shocked with a shirt. He dodged a chair shot to the post. JP eats a boot to the face. They manage to break a hard venue chair. Wow. Chairs set up in the ring….JP throws Tommy through one. Most chair torture to Tommy. Chair assisted shot to the little Graysons. Tommy tries a tornado DDT but JP reverses to a suplex into the chairs! Elbow drop! Tommy won’t die. Face first into the chair! Tommy batters JP off the top into the chairs. Tornado DDT! Two count! Tommy sets up more chairs but gets tripped to the buckles! JP tries a powerbomb but gets backdropped into the chairs. They both get chairs, Tommy is quicker. Shot to the gut, chair to the chair. Side Russian leg sweep for two! Tommy powers out of a suplex, chair assisted Whisper in the wind! Dropkick into the chair! JP kicks out! Tommy tripped into the chair! Kick out! JP with a corkscrew Unprettier! That was sick. JP with the chair again. Tommy begs him to do it. JP has a moment of doubt. Tommy up with a headbutt to the gut…maybe low? Tommy hits a piledriver to the chair to end this brotherly war!

Winner: Tommy Grayson

“BOTH THESE GRAYSONS!“ chants the crowd. They demand a hug. The Grayons stare down. Tommy offers a handshake. JP takes it and they hug it out. EYYYYYYY WE WANT SOME GRAYSONS!!!!!!

DC says we’re taking a break before Extra Innings begins. We DID set an attendance record! Hell yeah! We’ll be back later with the second show!
