Wrestling Open Week 14

4/7/22 - Worcester, MA

Streaming on IWTV.live

Welcome to the 14th week of Wrestling Open, making this the longest contiguous weekly wrestling series under the Beyond umbrella. Thank goodness for IWTV. I can’t be in Worcester tonight but I don’t have to miss my Thursday night wrestling appointment! It’s truly one of the best bang for your buck $10 you can spend on wrestling.

Spotlight Match: CPA vs Joey Conway

Conway looks like he’s a rough and tumble sort…but now he’s in a CPA match. I need one of those CPA ties. DM Me CPA. Conway comes charging and immediately tripped. Conway tries to whip CPA with his own tie but he’s impervious to that. Conway getting tossed corner to corner. Conway back with a buckle bomb and a PK. Dropkick for two. CPA ain’t done. He catches Conway out of the corner with a powerbomb! CPA rips off a second shirt! He has three shirts! Dropkick from the top. Form-619 connects! CPA wants to crunch some numbers, Conway out but CPA gets him for that DVD for the win!

Winner: CPA

Match 1: Antonio Zambrano vs Rex Lawless

Rex has pecs! Zambrano trying to stay out of his grasp. He slaps Rex…bad move. Huge lariat cuts him down. Zambrano powders away from a big boot. Dropkicks Rex off the apron and rams his shoulder into the corner of the apron. Zambrano attacking the limb hard, trying to make sure of the advantage he’s been given. Rex weathers this but chops free. Corner to corner toss. Snake Eyes! Corner boot! Rex’s arm is definitely hurting so he just does a one arm choke bomb for the pin!

Winner: Rex Lawless

Match 2: J-Heru vs Love, Doug

Heru is a right bastard to the ref. We love Doug. Heru loves to suplex Doug. Big whip into a side slam for two. Elbow drops. Doug with a spring clothesline. Slingshot elbow, cutter. Crowd amping up for a forearm. SMOOCHES! Heru kisses those feet. Doug misses a sliced bread but lands the rebound lariat for the win!

Winner: Love, Doug

Match 3: Armani Kayos vs Tyree Taylor

Kayos dropped on his face right away and immediately complaining about his nose. Kayos uses a brief distract to try a sleeper…and is immediately tossed off. Double chest chop. Now Kayos is complaining about his knee. Taylor caught again for a slingshot flatline for two. Splash off the ropes for two. Tyree blocks a slap and boots Kayos into the buckles. Corner spear! Kayos thrown off the top! Discus lariat! Kayos out to the apron and hot shots Tyree. Spinning X factor! Taylor kicks out! Tyree blocks a curb stomp! Kayos tries a sunset flip but Tyree hits a huge high angle powerbomb for the pin!

Winner: Tyree Taylor

Match 4: Skyros & Blaxstrom vs The Wild Dog (Johnny Rivera & Ray Pittman)

The crowd is barking for their dogs as they work over Skyros early. Slam, senton, clothesline combo almost ends the night early. Blaxstrom in on Pittman and starts working the shoulder & arm. Pittman taking multiple tags of punishment. Pittman with a codebreaker! Tag to Rivera! Dropkick and running knee! Skyros with a rebound clothesline. Superkick to Pittman. Blaxstrom in and they hit a Gory Bomb cutter combo for the pin on Rivera. The crowd is sad now.

Winners: Skyros & Blaxstrom

Match 5: Eric James vs Brian Burgundy

Eric James walks through crowd singing “I want it that way” and mocking the crowd’s singing. Brian Burgundy is back with his tiny step ladder. Eric James unimpressed with how really big he is and laughs in his face. James shoved him off the ladder but is immediately rana’d and dropkicked. James catches him off the top and flapjacks him down. James goes to work stomping and chopping Burgundy down. Huge powerslam out of the corner. James has a good “Backstreet’s Back” call and response elbow drop spot with the crowd. He almost eats a crucifix roll up from that. Burgundy firing up, trying a body slam…pele kick, knee, tiger bomb combo from James, Burgundy kicks out! Brian shows how strong he is and eats a superkick and TKO to the knee (the one hit wonder) for the win!

Winner: Eric James

Oh he wants the mic now. Staaaaaahhhp. He’s grumpy that he brings his voice to the ring and we don’t appreciate him. Worcester tells him to shut the f*** up. He still wants a piece of Love Doug for…bullying him? Doug is out here. He apologizes but refuses to leave the ring until Eric James makes him. Eric James says next time and vacates. Love Doug also has an announcement…next week we are having a very special debut….Matt Taven! Love Doug challenging Taven for next week. You KNOW Eric James is going to mess this up somehow.

Match 6: Jhonny Santos & Anastasia Morningstar vs Teddy Goodz & Little Mean Kathleen

Santos needs a new dance partner and he wants to dance with the devil now. Will it be enough for the Flavortown duo? Santos  wants to dance with LMK…LMK does her best but gets Goodz in there to actually beat up Santos, which is the point of a wrestling contest as it turns out. Hip toss and a shoulder block from Goodz. LMK in with the backdrop! She turns into an enraged Anastasia Morningstar who powerbombs her. Morningstar pummels her with fists to the abs. LMK tries a Dudley dog but just gets slammed out of it. Goodz in hot against Santos. Morningstar tries to get involved but it turns into stereo ten punches. Goodz with a lariat to Morningstar! Santos takes out Goodz! LMK hits the Dudley dog on Santos, Goodz off the top for the win!

Winner: LMK & Teddy Goodz

Match 7: Johnny Chill vs Big Bacon Brad Hollister

Welcome back Big Bacon! It was here in Worcester where Hollister injured himself in 2019 and hasn’t been seen in Beyond since. Huge charge to the corner and a German from Hollister. Another one! Chill is getting murdered. Pop up powerbomb and a rear naked choke ends Chill’s night fast.

Winner: Brad Hollister

Big Bacon is on the mic. He reminds us of his ACL injury three years ago and now he’s back to kick ass. He’s learned a lot of lessons…mostly that loyalty doesn’t exist in professional wrestling. But one group that clearly forgot about him? The dirtbag fans. He’s here to break everything and everyone we love…and we will never forget him again. Great promo.

Match 8: Brother Greatness vs Ichiban

I am so sad I can’t chant for Satan tonight.    BG takes offense that Ichiban is number one…that’s the LORD. Hot shot, BG with a flying knee for ONNNNEEEE! BG with a forearm after Ichiban refuses to say that god is number one. Air raid crash! He tries a sleeper on Ichiban. Ichiban drops him on his head. Forearm, clothesline, crossbody back elbow! Ten single punches in the corner! Ichiban! He tries the flatliner, BG catches a backslide for two. BG comes in with the Bible and Ichiban hits the flatline for the win!

Winner: Ichiban

Uh oh…Sidney Bakabella is out here. Does he have a painted on beard, NWO Hogan style? He’s mad because he and the NUMBER ONE attraction keep getting suspended and fined by Wrestling Open. Worcester doesn’t call World Class Channing Thomas number one…they call Ichiban that. Thomas immediately ambushes Ichiban from behind. Ichiban is on the receiving end of a huge beatdown. Face first into the second buckle he goes. Deep cloverleaf! Bakabella rips the mask off Ichiban! Ichiban covers up as Bakabella and Thomas hold the mask up like a trophy. The ref is out with a sheet to cover Ichiban’s head to get him out of there. Great spot.

Match 9: The Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Fancy Ryan Clancy) vs Gal Barkay & Randy Rivera

Stetson really wants to prove that he should work the majority of the match and get the win for the ranch. He may be big and he may be rich but he is also getting worked over by Barkay and Rivera handily.  Stetson finally gets one up on Barkay, hitting the jumping senton to the back. Now that he’s in the driver’s seat, he keeps bragging to Clancy. Rivera tags in…Stetson SHOULD tag out but he refuses. Stetson catches Barkay out of the air, blind tag to Rivera! DVD neckbreaker to Barkay. Dropkick from Rivera! Stetson finally escapes and makes a tag to Clancy. Clancy hits the side Russian leg sweep, Stetson tags in blind and steals the pin from Clancy. Clancy is furious but Stetson says this is just how it is.

Winners: Stetson Ranch

Match 10: The Jersey Legends (Ray Jaz & Tony Vincita) vs Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King)

The crowd chants “toilet paper” at Jaz after our treatment last week. Our tip this week? “Enjoy the moment”. I will enjoy the moment of Miracle Generation giving Jaz his first loss in Wrestling Open. Jaz doesn’t want Waller so soon and tags out. Kylon and Waller want none of these shenanigans and go right at the Legends. Kylon with a dive to the outside. Waller with a two on Vincita and wraps up the arm. Jaz takes control on Waller and the Legends are giving him a Jersey beatdown. Kylon is upset on the outside…Waller gets the tag but the ref misses it. Double suplex in the fray. The ref didn’t see the tag from Jaz to Vincita but I guess they are like the Bellas or something. Waller is looking on dream street as he makes another attempt to the corner and Vincita just slams him down. Waller hits the handspring cutter! Flash makes the tag! Jaz in and Kylon goes wild! Exploder! Northern Lights for two! Vincita takes out his own partner on the pin break. Brain buster and shooting star to Vincita for two!  Vincita catches Kylon out of the air and posted. Cradle bomb to Flash and he kicks  out! Kylon eats the wall. The Jersey Legends have a minute to end this. They go for the MG’s power plex! Kylon cuts off Jaz! He tries the power plex on Vincita. Jaz pulls Vincita out of danger and they run to the curtain as the time limit expires. Cowards.

Winners: Time Limit Draw

Main Event: “The Prize” Alec Price(c) v “The Shot Caller” Pedro Dones (for the SUP Bonestorm Championship)

Well, here is a matchup I will reliably cheer on Price in. Dones has been a low key singles beast in the weeks leading up to this. Dones is gonna call his shot…and tonight’s target is his arm…and his heart. Price comes in like the wild worm he is but Dones has some surprises for the champ, staying with him in the graps. Price grabs a headlock, Dones wriggles out, shoulder block connects but Price hits a good dropkick. Price ramped into the buckles and a back elbow to the chest starts to work over that target. Price with a rollup, pops out and Dones turns him inside out with a lariat. Dones wrenching the arm in the ropes. Dropping knees and elbows to the arm. Price with an enziguri and dragon suplex! High knees in the corner! Dones dodges out of the corner but gets hit with a block bustah. Dones has the SuPrize kick scouted. Dones hits the gutbuster for two! He tries a shoulder breaker, Price with the roll up. Trading shots. Price hops to the top, Dones hits the ropes and Price gets crotched on the top. Superplex! Price kicks out! Dones comes in with a knee after Price begs for death. Price blocks it and rebounds with the SuPrize kick for the win!

Winner: Alec Price

Alec Price gets thrown back out of the curtain. It’s Big Bacon Brad Hollister! Hollister suplexes Price onto the wooden floor of the world famous White Eagle and leaves him laying. Hollister didn’t wait a week to make that statement.

Our main event wrestling match may be done but we do have a confrontation between Bobby Orlando and Brick & Mortar. The trio is out first. Mortar has the mic and tells everyone to shut up. The crowd ain’t having that. Mortar says Orlando never took him seriously. Bobby is NOTHING but a child who plays with a stuffed goat. Cue the Bobby Orlando song. He’s not a party pooper normally but he definitely wants to poop on this party. Orlando calls out Mortar going to the “Bish City Boyz” for help. He’s mad as hell for the treatment over the last several weeks. B&M says there’s three of them…and one of him. Bobby has a present for them…PLATINUM MAX CASTER. He calls JCruz a fake Eddie Guerrero. He calls a Victor Chase a homeless D-Lo Brown. Mortar? He’s a hobbit. Orlando and Caster  are reunited. Mortar says “you had to call in the Marty Jannetty of the Acclaimed?!?”. There’s still three of them. Hit the Shook Crew music. BRYCE DONOVAN IS BACK! The crew is reunited! We get a 6-man brawl in the ring! Cruz eats a mic drop! Victor eats a black hole slam! Mortar is about to eat a triple team but the Boyz save him! This brawl ends as we go off the air.

Thanks to Rachel Buckley for texting me a bucket of off-air post-show notes since I’m not there in person. Much love, friend!

Bobby says the Shook Crew is back in town. Caster puts over Bryce and Bobby, saying he had to come back for them. Bryce explains his injury to the crowd and laughs off being a heel when last we saw him. Apparently he saw someone at beyond with a shook crew headband and get well sign while he was in the hospital and it made his day. He’ll be back as much as possible.

DC in ring now. Word of mouth continues to drive up Wrestling Open attendance. He puts over Wheeler Yuta & MJF who made their names here and Yuta, in particular, after his showing last night for AEW in Boston. Tony Khan said a star in Yuta was born that night? Beyond creates those stars.

Next week is a double header! We have a 10pm Wrestling Open happening after the 8pm! Hopefully, we’ll get some bonus crowd coming out of the Worcester Red Sox game that night!

Beyond returns to Foxboro MA for “Please Come Back 3: Wrestling Open vs Beyond” on June 12th!

They broke the attendance record for the first time in a few weeks! They’re raffling off a gas card tonight! Ichiban does the drawing. It’s all ones. Of course.

They finally get a winner…and yes, Worcester booed them. My people. <3

And that’s it for Week 14 of Wrestling Open! See you next Thursday for our double header!
