AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

It is Friday and it’s time for AEW Rampage, taped after the Wednesday Dynamite in Boston Massachusetts at the Agganis Arena. The commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, William Regal and Ricky Starks.

Bryan Danielson vs Trent Beretta

Bryan takes Trent down with an arm bar and keeps wrist control and works him to the mat. Trent brings down Bryan, and Bryan is up and kicks Trent while breaking. They lock up again, and Bryan gets an arm bar into a headlock. They move to run the ropes and Trent takes Bryan down with an elbow strike. They go face to face and let the crowd build.

They lock up again and Bryan starts with kicks and chops on Trent. Trent is able to reverse it and they go to the corner. Bryan gets a boot up and then puts on a front chancery, but Trent is able to flip him into a suplex and covers for no count. They go to the ropes and Bryan starts in with chops and kicks again in the corner. He tries to suplex Trent, who goes over the top and they spill to the outside. Trent grabs the ropes to skin the cat and stay in. He leaps onto Bryan and Bryan meets him with a kick.

Bryan leaps from the ring to Trent’s arms and Trent suplexes him. Trent charges Bryan, and Bryan dodges the charge causing Trent to go into the steel steps and we go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Trent is working his way off the mat as Bryan holds him in a head lock. Bryan takes him back down with head butts into the ropes. Trent is able to get up and gets inn a pair of strikes before Bryan gets a front headlock suplex. Bryan goes to the top and Trent meets him there. They go up and Trent hits a superplex on Bryan.

They trade chops. Trent ends it with a German suplex. Trent leaps into Bryan in the corner and as they come out of the corner, Bryan is able to capture Trent’s shoulder for a suplex and a two count. Bryan puts on a dragon sleeper but did not have it completely locked in. Trent gets to the ropes for the break.

Bryan hits a series of knees to Trent’s face. Trent drops to the mat, but when Bryan tries to pick him up, Trent reverses it for a two count, and then Bryan reverses for a two count. Trent gets a swinging DDT and covers for a two count. Trent puts Bryan on the top and climbs up to meet him. Bryan slides out and drops Trent onto the top turnbuckle. They both go up and it looks like Bryan is hitting the superplex, but Trent reverses it on the fall and gets a two count.

Trent picks up Bryan and they trade strikes and kicks again. Trent hits a half and half suplex and then drops Bryan with a lariat. Trent grabs Bryan again and starts hitting forearms. He goes to the ropes and Bryan was able to hit the flying knee. Bryan then hits the Gotch style pile driver. Bryan grabs Trent’s arms and kicks in Trent’s head. Bryan then wrenches the neck for a submission, and Trent taps.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Lexie is in the back with Hook and he ignores his questions. He walks away and Danhausen tries again to curse him, and Hook just knocks the chips out of his hands and walks off.

Dan Lambert and the Men of the Year are in the ring. Sky says that he got rid of the open door challenge because he wanted someone to step up. Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti come out. Sammy insults them. Dan tells them to talk about what they do in the ring instead of what they do in the bedroom. Sammy says he is here for a match. Ethan joins in and says they are a PR disaster.

Sammy says until they get a match, they will make their lives a living hell.

Jericho introduced his Sports Entertainer of the Week is QT Marshall in a video package.

Swerve Strickland vs QT Marshall

They lock up and Swerve launches QT into the ropes and QT knocks him down with a shoulder block. Swerve works his way up and takes down QT repeatedly. QT tosses Swerve to the outside, and Swerve turns it into the front flip as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Comorado and Solow have come down to the ring but the referee ejects them for trying to interfere. QT is beating down Swerve in the corner. Swerve starts fighting back with strikes. QT stops him as they run the ropes and QT hits a back elbow. Swerve comes off the ropes with attacks on QT is tossed to the mat and WT leaps onto him. QT hits a huge right hand and calls for the diamond cotter, but Swerve pushes him off and hits a pair of kicks. He hits a flat liner on QT. Swerve gets the leaping back heel kick on QT and covers for the three count.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Ricky Starks tells them to cut Swerve’s music, and he challenges Swerve and Keith Lee to a tag team match with him and Powerhouse Hobbs.

We get a video package of Marina Shafir.

Willow Nightingale vs Red Velvet in an Owen Hart Tournament Qualifying Match

Willow slams Red to the mat and tries for a pin, only getting a two count. Willow puts on a hammer lock and Red leaps up and takes her over with a flying mare. Red hits a flying kick and then an arm drag takeover. Willow is able to shoulder block Red down. They run the ropes again and Will hits another should tackle for a two count. Willow misses a back drop and Red takes her to the corner, peppering her with blows.

They leave the corner after the ref forces Red to break, and Willow is able to suplex Red and covers for a two count. Willow goes up for the moonsault press,a nd Red rolls in to avoid it. Red knocks Willing into the ropes with a kick, follows up with double knees, hits the Just Desserts and covers for a two count. Willow hits a spine buster off the ropes for a two count. Red works her way up and they trade strikes in the middle of the ring. They run the ropes and Willow hits the Pounce. She hits a cannonball in the corner and covers for a two count.

Willow goes for a stalling suplex and Red escapes, hits a back stabber, then the corkscrew kick and covers for the three count.

Winner: Red Velvet

Red Velvet is booed by the crowd. Taz loves her new attitude.

Lexie is with Tony Nese and he berates her for not having enough enthusiasm for him. Mark Sterling shows up and hands Nese his business card.

We get the main event interview with Wheeler Yuta and Jon Moxley. Yuta says he keeps doing better every time they have fought. He is the Ring of Honor Pure Champion. Mox says it is not his job to show him respect. It’s not pure rules, and tonight we will find out what Yuta is made of.

Jon Moxley vs Wheeler Yuta

Yuta leaps onto Mox before the bell and they fight through the crowd with Yuta in charge. The brawl back to the ring and Yuta tosses Mox into the ring. Mox takes Yuta down with a drop step and he follows up with a vertical suplex without stalling. Mox then beats down Yuta in the corner. Mox gets a high boot and covers for two.

Mox gets behind Yuta and locks on a face grab. Yuta works his way to his feet and goes after Mox with chops. Then he hits and atomic drop. Mox knocks Yuta to the outside. Mox stomps Yuta’s face into the steel steps and Yuta is busted open as we go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Yuta’s face is completely covered in blood. Mox locks on a Texas Cloverleaf and Yuta has to crawl to the ropes. Yuta is seated by the ropes and Mox slaps him until Yuta gets up. Mox hits a knee lift and tries to toss him out of the ring, but Yutas grabs the bottom rope and stays in. Yuta tosses Mox to the outside and then goes to the top. He dives onto Mox and they go through the timekeeper’s table.

Mox is the first back in the ring and Yuta’s blood is still flowing. Yuta crawls to the ring and gets back in on 5. Mox is down in the corner and when he gets up, he runs at Yuta who hits a back slide for a two. Yuta hits a deadlift German and hits another and Mox fights free with elbows. Mox goes for the lariat and Yuta blocks it and suplexes Mox. Yuta grabs Mox’s arms and kicks his head in like Bryan Danielson.

Yuta gets a fly splash for a two count and then locks on a cross face. Mox rolls free and covers Yuta for two. Mox hits the King Kong lariat and covers for a two count. Mox is up first and punches Yuta, which makes him get up. Mox bites at Yuta’s wound and they go to the top. Yuta knocks him off the top and leaps into a Paradigm shift by Mox. Mox covers for a two count and the crowd erupts.

Mox puts on a bulldog choke and they are in the center of the ring. Yuta powers his way up and Mox hits a series of driving knee strikes. Mox gets up, and Yuta, on his knees, motions for him to bring it.

Mox comes off the ropes for a kick, and Yuta grabs him and covers or two. Yuta then locks in the bulldog choke. Mox gets to his feet and Yuta turns it into a read naked choke., Mox escapes and hits a series of hammer and anvil elbows. Mox hits the knee and another paradigm shift. Mox covers for two only.

Mox locks on a sleeper hold and Yuta is out.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Bryan Danielson and William Regal come to the ring. Yuta gets to his knees and motions for them to bring it. Regal holds out a hand for a handshake. Yuta shakes his hand in return and we are desperately out of time!
