MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS VS. BULLET CLUB 2, JONAH AND PCO BRAWL IN THE STREETS OF PHILLY & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-03-31 22:02:00

Welcome to this week's Impact Wrestling on AXS TV report!

The show opened with a look at everything that led to tonight.

We are at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA with Tom Hanifan and Matt Rehwoldt on the call.

ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham came to the ring for a promo.  He said he was here to share the true essence of Ring of Honor and what professional wrestling truly is, but along came Honor No More.  The foundation of ROH was built by men like him, self, Samoa Joe, CM Punk and Edddie Edwards but Eddie is no longer than man he was back then.  Now, he represents something completely different.  They will face off at Rebellion.  Kenny King came out and said that Gresham was being used by ROH and Honor No More voted to take him out.  Since he's decided to stand back up, King said he's not interested in his Pure Rules or a worthless piece of metal from a dead company, he's going to pound him into the dirt.

King entered the ring and they rang the bell.

ROH Champion Jonathan Gresham vs. Kenny King

They went nose to nose and locked up.  They grappled around the ring.  Gresham tried to work over his arm but King kicked him and went to the floor to break the momentum.  He returned and drilled Gresham with a kick.  Gresham was sent to the apron outside but worked over King's arm until Gresham's eyes were raked.  Gresham was sent to the floor and hit with a pescado.

King nailed a suplex on the floor.  King worked him over and sent Gresham into the ring.  He charged but was hit with a back elbow.  Gresham nailed several kicks and a big dropkick.  Gresham worked him over with chops but was sent up and over to the outside.  Gresham snapped him with a Dragon Screw legwhip but missed a bodypress off the top.

After a commercial, King worked over Gresham with a series of kicks and nailed a big spinebuster for a two count.   Gresham came back to attack the knee and rolled him up for a two count.  Gresham escaped a sunset flip and nailed a big forearm and stomp.  King drilled him with a hard slap and went for a wheel barrow slam but Gresham rolled through for a two count.

King sent Gresham hard into the buckles and nailed a full nelson snap suplex and a Tiger Driver for a two count.

King went for a move off the shoulders but Gresham escaped.  King rolled him up for a two count but Gresham drilled the leg and tied him up in a figure four leglock.   King was almost pinned several times but kept getting his shoulder up.  King was finally tied up and pinned.

Your winner, Jonathan Gresham!

Eddie Edwards hit the ring and attacked Gresham.  King held him for the Boston Knee Party but Rocky Romero hit the ring for the save.  They ran Honor No More from the ring.

They ran down the Multiverse of Matches lineup for tomorrow.

Backstage, The Motor City Machineguns said that Jay White should know them better and know that a three count is a win.  Sabin said he's looking forward to wrestling White tomorrow and sending him back to Japan but tonight they prove they are the best team that ever lived.

ROH & AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Deonna Purrazzo said the Champ Champ Challenge keeps growing and pushing the envelope and she's going to continue to do that tomorrow at the Multiverse of Matches.  She said she is the Multiverse.  There's ton of people in Dallas who could be her opponent but it doesn't matter because the champ is here.

Swinger and Zicky Dice came out for the Chump Chump Challenge.

Swinger cut a promo calling for two ham and eggers.  Instead, out came The Good Brothers.

The Good Brothers vs. Swinger & Zicky Dice.

Gallows drilled Dice with a big right hand and a fall away slam.  He hit a running splash in the corner and tagged out Anderson.  They nailed the Magic Killer and scored the pin.

Your winners, The Good Brothers!

Gia Miller asked them why they answered the challenge.  They said they are back to beating people up.  They got screwed last week against Violence by Design and by Honor No More.  They are going to run through seven other teams at Rebellion.

There was screaming in the background.  It was PCO screaming for Jonah in the ECW Arena parking lot.  When they returned from commercial, PCO was still screaming for him but was attacked by Jonah.  They braawled around several trucks and around the arena's loading dock.  Jonah powerbombed PCO on some equipment outside.  PCO screamed in pain and Jonah yelled at him to stay down.

Jonah grabbed a sledgehammer and nailed PCO several times.  He placed a piece of concrete over him and smashed it with the sledgehammer.  PCO shot back to life and grabbed Jonah by the throat.  Jonah fought off a chokeslam but was run into a wall.  PCO smashed him into a truck and then opened the door and smashed it over and over on Jonah's head.  Jonah was left laying.  PCO grabbed a shovel and began digging dirt and dumping it atop Jonah.

Madman Fulton with Ace Austin vs. Josh Alexander

The story ios that Alexander is enraged by what happened to his wife.  He attacked and suplexed the hell out of Fulton before charging.  Fulton nailed a boot but Josh shook it off and clotheslined him over the top to the floor.  Alexander followed to the floor, where Fulton drilled him.  They battled back into the ring.  Fulton blocked the C4 Spike but was hit with a hard forearm and a back suplex.  Alexander nailed a powerbomb and cinched in an anklelock.  Fulton failed after struggling to the ropes and tapped.

Your winner, Josh Alexander!

Alexander refused to relinquish the hold.  Ace Austin went to hit the ring but backed off once he and Alexander met in the ring.  Fulton attacked Alexander but Josh overcame him and snapped the ankle, with the idea that he likely broke the ankle.  Ace Austin retreated to the locker room.

Backstage, Trey Miguel told Speedball Bailey that he had an impressive victory.  He asked him what his relationship with Ace is.  He said Ace is Ace.  Trey said Ace just abandoned his only other friend and not to expect Ace to have his back at Rebellion.  Bailey said he always expects the unexpected.

Last week, Mickie James was interviewed after being attacked by The Cardonas.  She said that Chelsea is as much of a sellout as her husband.  She tried to stay neutral even though Nick Aldis and Matt Cardona had issues but now Nick is going to make Aldis pay.  She said this going to be a real asswhipping at the Multiverse of Matches.

Gia Miller knocked on Matt Cardona's locker room, seeking to speak with Green.  Cardona was pissy Gia didn't want to talk to him and grabbed Green.  Green said Mickie asked her over and over not to help her so she didn't.  The irony is that at Sacrifice, Mickie didn't want help but who came running to save Chelsea.  Mickie has been tied up instead of giving her the title shot she deserved and now she's not the champ so she's getting her shot at Mickie.  Matt Cardona said Mickie and Nick have been married for seven years and have accomplished nothing.  They have been married since January and have taken over the business.  They will see Nick and Mickie at the Multiverse of Matches.

Knockouts Battle Royal

Tasha Steelz was at commentary.

Typical Battle Royal fare.  They did a deal where The Influence was eliminated but Kaleb accidentally helped Jesse McKay be saved from elimination to contiue the Kaleb loyaly storyline.  Savannah nailed a big Samoan Drop and tossed Jesse.

Jordynne Grace and Evans slugged it out.  Evans booted her off the apron but Giselle Shaw and Lady Frost knocked Evans to the outside.  It came down to Rosemary, Shaw and Lady Frost.  They all chopped each other.  Rosemary nailed a Slingblade on Frost but ate a Shaw superkick.  Frost went to the top but was crotched by Shaw and knocked over the top to the apron.

Shaw worked over Rosemary but a charge was blocked.  Shaw escaped a Taranatula.  Frost and Rosemary battled on the apron.  Shaw tried to shove them off but was pulled over and in the process, knocked Frost to the floor.

Your winner, Rosemary!

Rosemary and Tasha faced off.

Aiden Prince vs. Bhupinder Gujjar

They locked up.  Prince was sent into the ropes and they drilled each other with shoulderblocks.  Gujjar sent him to the floor.  Brian Myers was doing his commentary deal.  Prince was slingshot back into the ring and tried to beg off.  He went to kick Gujjar but it was blocked.  Prince was tossed to the floor again.  Gujjar yelled at him to get back into the ring but Prince went to walk out.  Gujjar attacked him on the floor and drilled him with some hard chops.  Prince was tossed into the ring.  He tried to come off the ropes but was snatched and hit with an over the shoulder powerslam for a two count.  Prince worked over Gujjar and beat him in the corner, stomping on his ankle.  He nailed a charging boot and went for another but Gujjar exploded out with a Slingblade and powerslammed Prince for another two count. Prince cut him off and went for a 450 splash but missed.  Gujjar nailed a spear off the ropes for the pin

Your winner, Bhupinder Gujjar!

Brian Myers went to leave ringside but W. Morrisey attacked him and sent him into the ring post.  Morrisey went for the BQE but Myers grabbed Prince's leg as Prince was out on the floor.  Myers escaped and Prince shoved Morrisey.  Morrisey turned his attention to him, grabbing him by the throat.  He nailed the BQE through the commentary table.

Mask Slamovich vs. Abby Jane

Masha destroyed Abby, who was way too happy before the bell given what she was facing.

Your winner, Masha Slamovich!

The Motor City Machineguns vs. Jay White & Chris Bey

White and Sabin started.  Sabin nailed a high cross bodyblock but White cut him off and nailed several chops.  Sabin maneuvered him into Shelley, who drilled White with a shoulderblock.  The Guns began whipping out their patented double-team maneuvers and maintained control of the ring, even knocking Bey off the apron.  They nailed a double legdrop.  Sabin cinched in a side chinlock, working over White.  Sabin cinched in a side headlock.  Sabin was cut off.  Bey tagged in and he beat down Sabin for a long time.  Shelley tried to intercede but was stopped by the referee.  That left Sabin prey to being beaten down even longer.

The Bullet Club worked over Sabin for a long time.  Shelley finally got the hot tag.  They tossed White to the outside.  The Guns doubleteamed Bey.  Bey took out Sabin and drilled Shelley with a series of rights on the mat.  Bey choked Shelley against the ropes, assisted by White outside.

Shelley finally turned the tide of battle when he moved out of the way of a Bey tope suicide, leaving White to be drilled.  Sabin tagged in and worked over Bey, tying him to the tree of woe.  White tried to get involved but was nailed with a big boot to the face.  Sabin kicked him and used the momentum to nailed a tornado DDT.  The Guns went back to double-team maneuevers, scoring two counts on Bey.

Everyone battled.  Bey nailed a tope con suicida to the floor.  He hit a great top rope frog splash on Sabin but Shelley broke up the pinfall.  White argued with the referee over the count, preventing him from seeing Sabin rolling up Bey.  Sabin went to complain but was rolled up for a two count.

Sabin fought off White hitting the ring but was drilled with a leaping kick by Bey.  He went for a neckbreaker but White dove off the ropes and attacked him.  Everyone battled.  The Guns hit the Dream Sequence.  They double-booted Bey in the corner and set up for a double-decker Sliced Bread#2.  Bey escaped Cradle Shock.      Bey nailed the Ultimate Finesser and scored the pin.

Your winners, The Motor City Machineguns!
