YUTA'S JOURNEY CONTINUES, FTR VS. THE GUNNS, PUNK-CASTER, MOX-LETHAL - FULL AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2022-03-30 20:45:00

It's Wednesday Night, and that means best possible wishes to Cory Strode, who's a little under the weather tonight.  AEW completes the Road to Wrestl...wait, wrong promotion.  We ARE, however, LIVE with tonight's AEW Dynamite!  The Voice of Wrestling, Jim Ross, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone have the call of tonight's action.

CM Punk vs. Max Caster

I'm not gonna lie, I love Max's Raps.  I love the Acclaimed.  Lockup, arm twist by Punk, Caster with a knee and an armtwist of his own.  Takedown by Punk. Lockup, they grapple in the corner, right hands by Caster but it's Punk with a forearm and a snap mare and an Anaconda Vice attempt.  Caster worms his way out.  Kick to the gut by Caster into an arm twist, shoulder tackle by Punk for 1.  Caster with a backbreaker off a cross body attempt by Punk for 1.  Elbow by Caster, he whips Punk into the corner.  Caster whips Punk in the corner but Punk flips over and hits an elbow from the top.

Caster with a boot to the midsection but Punk tries a GTS but the knee gives out. Caster with a Fisherman Buster for 2.  Punk with a chop, followed by a 2nd and 3rd. Hurancanrana off the top by Punk.  Running knee and a bulldog by Punk for 2.  Bowens blocks a springboard and Caster nails a legdrop for 2. Caster misses a mic drop, Punk with a piledriver into the Anaconda Vice for the tap.

WINNER: CM PUNK

Tony Schiavone joins the winner in the ring. He asks about the title belt gesture from last week. He wants the AEW World Title, he doesn't care who the champion is.

Alex Marvez is with MJF and FTR.  Mark Sterling is MJF new lawyer (I'd go with Stephen P New) reminding us that Wardlow is banned from AEW.  FTR doesn't want to get in the middle of what's going on with MJF and Wardlow.  FTR do not look happy to be with MJF

Jay Lethal vs. Jon Moxley

Moxley slaps away Lethal's hand. Go behind by Lethal into an arm twist, Moxley tosses him out.  They play a cat and mouse game until they get back in.  Headlock takeover by Moxley, Lethal tries a headscissors but Moxley blocks it. Moxley sends Lethal to the floor and now they go face to face in the ring.  They exchange forearms, Moxley beats him down.  Tackle and a German by Moxley and a big Lariat.  Lethal blocks a superplex and crotches Moxley on the top rope.  Tope suicida by Lethal is we go to commercial.

We're back and both men are down.  They trade chops and kicks, they collide on a cross body. Forearm exchange and it's Lethal with jabs, lefts and rights.  But it's Moxley with a huge lariat. Backbreaker/facedrop combo by Lethal.  Lethal blocks 2 paradigm shifts and and goes for LEthal Injection.  Moxley blocks it and applies a choke, Lethal rolls him up for 2.  Lethal with an elbow off the top for 2.  Lethal is frustrated with referee PAul Tunrer. Small package into a paradigm shift by Moxley for the pin.

WINNER JON MOXLEY

Code of Honor adhered to.

We get a video package for Marina Shafir

FTR vs. Austin & Colton Gunn w/Billy Gunn

MJF has come out to support FTR and join the booth.  Lockup with Dax and Colton.  Armdrag by Gunn. Austin tags in. Hammerlock by Dax, Austin escapes. Cash tags in and takes Austin doen with a foreman carry into an arm bar.  Austin with punches in the corner.  Big pair of armdrags by Cash and he tags in Dax. Dax with an arm twist and tags Cash back in.  Cash follows and chops Austin.  The Gunn Club distracts referee Aubrey Edwards and it's Billy with a big clothesline on Cash as we go to commercial

We're back and its Cash with a belly to back on Austin Gunn. Colton cuts off the ring and forces Cash into the corner.  Dax tags in and takes out the Gunn Club and he nails Austin with a lariat.  Colton trips Dax on a suplex attempt for 2.  Wardlow has entered the building and he DESTROYS security. Finally they get the numbers advantage.  In  the ring it's a Big Rig by FTR for the pin.

WINNERS: FTR

FTR does not want MJF celebrating with them. The AAA Champions do not appear in sync with the Pinnacle.

We get a preview of Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Keith Lee this Friday on Rampage.

The Jericho Appreciation Society are in the back. They brag about future endeavored Dark Order last week.  No piece of trash dare challenge them.  Cue Santana and Ortiz, who attack JAS along side Eddie Kingston.  The brawl spills to the ring. Kingston with a spinning backfist.  It's a mugging in favor of Santana, Ortiz and Kingston until Jake Hager makes the save.  He rains the punches down on Kingston.  The numbers game finally catches up to them.  Garcia locks in a sharpshooter on Eddie.  Jericho on the assault with Floyd the bat.  Jericho whips Kingston with his belt, followed by the Judas Effect. The Jericho Appreciation Society poses.

Tony is with TBS champion Jade Cargill and Mark Sterling.  Sterling picked Leva Bates as the next opponent. Cargill throws her out and says Marina Shafir will be the next challenger.

Author's Note: There will be no post game show tonight.

Bryan Danielson w/William Regal vs. Wheeler Yuta

Yuta's challenge of Josh Woods and the ROH Pure Title are mentioned for this weekend.  Forearms by Danielson.  Takeover into a wristlock by Danielson.  Yuta with a bridge. Danielson transitions into an armbar, Yuta makes the ropes.  Slap by Danielson into a shoulder tackle.  Kicks by the American Dragon but Yuta with a charge and he hits elbows. Yuta comes off the rope but Danielson with a kick as we head to commercial.

While we have a commercial break I want to say how proud I am of my friend RJ, whose podcast "Refin' It Up" with Impact referee Brian Hebner dropped its 2nd episode earlier today.

Back live and it's a chop war.  Danielson with uppercuts and Yuta with a backslide for 2.  German by Yuta for 2.  Kick by Danielson into a Dragon Suplex for 2. Danielson with elbow strikes.
