BEING THE ELITE EPISODE 300 RECAP

By Eric Denton on 2022-03-28 13:58:00

Tony Schiavone is with “All Ego” Ethan Page and the TNT Champion Scorpio Sky. He wants to ask them about Sammy Guevara andTay Conti. Sky says he doesn’t want to talk about them because they are a couple of “Airheads.”

Cue Matt Jackson reviving the running gag of making Sky eat candy if he accidentally says the name of a brand. Sky “Come, on Matt, I thought we were past this…I’m the TNT champion.”

Matt just stares and Sky unwraps and eats the candy.

BONG! Christopher Daniels is here. Ethan and Tony are gone. Daniels informs Sky that Warner Media is in negotiations with a different candy company and he is in violation of his contract so he has to fine him.

“DO YA!” Frankie Kazarian says that if you want to fine anybody you should fine all the a**holes backstage filming vlogs. He goes on to name a bunch of funny sounding vlogs and “Austin, TX” chyron appears on screen. Sky asks if they are that? They all nod. Sky starts the old SCU catchphrase, “This is the worst”

Being The Elite gets a new opening sequence.

Matt and Nick Jackson in a parking lot to welcome us to episode 300 and say “sorry guys we got nothing for this one. Episode 200 had Matt vs Nick but while this episode looks like it has a lot of time left it’s just blank screen time”. Nick says everyone can “F Off Oooh Yeah” and does the Macho Man pose. Jay Lethal pops up from behind a car and says he’s not a big fan of him doing his Macho Man impression. They do a Macho-Off. Lethal picks up Matt and puts him on his shoulder like Ms.Elizabeth. Matt says he thinks Jay’s is better. Nick gets mad and challenges Jay to a match.

Backstage at Dynamite the advice guru characters of Arthur and Trevor (represented only by pointing finger and waving hand - voiced by Daniels and Kazarian). They are watching The Hardys getting ready for their entrance and say they should advise AEW to fire the Young Bucks since they finally have the real deal with Matt and Jeff. Trevor argues with Arthur saying that’s a bad idea.

Matt and Nick in the locker room saying The Hardys aren’t on their level and that they’re just a nostalgia act. Door knocks and Matt and Jeff enter and the Jacksons start putting them over. Matt Hardy says they’re turning down the ROH Hall of Fame and are here for the AEW tag titles so they’ll be the GOATS of tag wrestling. Jeff asks why they don’t wrestle anymore. Matt J. says “we’re busy”. Jeff asks “busy doing what, trying to get the Cody deal”? Matt H says The Bucks are the best team of the last 10 years and the Hardys are the goats and they want to wrestle them at their best. The Bucks are momentarily humbled. The Hardys leave and The Bucks start talking smack again. Hardys re-enter and The Bucks go back to complimenting them.

Nick says they’re too scared to come back in the room and Matt H pops his head in and asks if they’re still talking.

We see the Hollywood sign. Ryan Nemeth does a voice over of him and some women at what looks like the now closed Bootleg Theater and he christens himself “The Leading Man”.

Chuck Taylor, Trent and the Best Friends do the “Dicks in real life” gag in catering. Trent and Chuck smash Matt Minard’s potato chips. Statlander eats Daniel Garcia’s banana. Danhausen curses Brian Pillman Jr. as Orange Cassidy slaps a plate of cookies out of his hand. Brandon Cutler assists The Bunny in opening her soda. Cutler attempts to join them in their slo-mo walk towards the camera. Danhausen stops it and reminds Trent he wanted to kill Cutler.

Mark Sterling Esq. Lawyer commercial.  He brags about being undefeated as a lawyer and Jade Cargill being undefeated as a wrestler.

Peter Avalon goes over Howdy Price having his cowboy hat being stolen by that “no good rotten” -1 on Dark episode 122 to a group for gentlemen wearing hats called “The Hat Boys” and how Price hasn’t been the same since. He asks for help. Leroy Patterson brings Howdy in the room and they start a “Hat-ervention”. Howdy zones out and we see another animated hallucination where he dreams that he has to choose between his hat or the Hat Boys being dropped by a pterodactyl into a volcano. He chooses his hat. This is too bizarre to describe. He wakes up and the Hat Boys seem pleased and believe they’ve cured him.

We see Alex Jebaily of CEO Fighting Games watching his match vs Nakazawa from Fyter Fest 2019. He asks someone sitting next to him if he wants to watch it again. It’s Kenny Omega and he says “no I do not, it was embarrassing that they let that match happen”. Alex asks if Kenny knows who’s house he’s at? Kenny says, “yes, yours”. Alex says no it’s, “Swerve’s House."

Kenny asks who the F is Swerve. Alex asks Kenny if he’s been watching Dynamite since his injury and Kenny says no. Alex tells Kenny that AEW is better than ever even though he’s not on the show. Kenny gets irritated and they start watching Dynamite. Kenny starts acting like all the Twitter people who hate AEW. He’s calling the Bucks to complain but they’ve changed their phone numbers. He gets mad and says put on the old stuff.

Karl Anderson says hello to the BTE audience and he takes a drink of some sour fruit punch and  his character of “Sour Boy” makes an appearance. His kids play the part of the Bucks saying Sour Boy is awful. Anderson in his Elmer Fudd voice says the Sour Boy catchphrase “Oh no we got a vewy big pwobwem”.

Matt Jackson is making a healthy smoothie doing his barista “50+ Seconds for 50+“ bit.

Adam Cole is shining his BTE title. Matt and Nick compliment him on his win. They suggest since it’s episode 300 he should defend it but Cole says he didn’t have time. The Bucks challenge him and Cole says “we shouldn’t do this  since they love each other.”  They start throwing super-kicks at each other. Cole goes down.

We get a slo-mo montage of a 3 way match “exposing the business” in the process. It’s very funny. Back to real time and they’re selling they’re sore. Cole says “hey we’re friends we shouldn’t be fighting”. Nick agrees. Cole tells the Bucks to go hang out with their families who made the trip. The Bucks leave. Cole grabs an off-screen Rick Knox and tells him to count them out. Cole celebrates retaining the BTE championship.

Cut back to The Hardys and Bucks talking about how great they are. Christian Cage pokes his head in and says something that sounds like, “Do I need to get a partner?”

The End for this week.
