3/25 GCW ONE NIGHT ONLY IN WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA REPORT

GCW “One Night Only” at The Roxy Theater in West Hollywood, California, USA on 3/24/22 live on FITE:

This is a sold out show at the legendary Sunset Strip venue which is of course known for being the site of many classic live concert albums since 1973. Bob Marley and The Wailers, Neil Young, Van Morrison, comedian/actor Richard Pryor, Brian Wilson, Guns N’ Roses, and Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are some of the iconic names that recorded here.

It’s a “mystery card”. Several names were announced in advance but none of matches were revealed ahead of time.

Speedball Mike Bailey pinned Kevin Blackwood after The Ultima Weapon. 

Nick Wayne pinned Jack Cartwheel after a flying cutter from off the stage followed up by another flying cutter off the ropes.

Jimmy Lloyd pinned Sandra Moone after a piledriver. 

Matthew Justice pinned Dark Sheik after a top rope splash. Wild brawl of a match with chairs and doors used as weapons. Justice was bleeding.

Intermission 

Effy and Allie Katch beat B-Boy and Lil Cholo    in a double submission finish as Katch had Cholo in a Boston Crab and Effy had B-Boy in a Dragon Sleeper.

Blake Christian pinned Jai Vidal after a double underhook DDT.

April 9 is the next GCW LA area show at the Ukrainian Cultural Center.

Juicy Finau pinned Eli Everfly after the Juicy Driver.

Sean Waltman came out to do guest commentary for the main event. He stopped over to greet Taya Valkyrie and John Hennigan (aka Johnny Roxy tonight I’d guess) who were in attendance watching the show.

Joey Janela got on the mic before the main event. He said the company has gone all the way from a warehouse in New Jersey to The Roxy. He took all the credit for it. He said he was with the company before Brett Lauderdale. He called out Waltman and said he carried their tag team because Waltman was napping in the locker room. He said he only got paid $40 while Waltman made thousands. He said Jungle Boy now gets big paychecks in AEW and “F***s Anna Jay” thanks to him too. He turned his attention to Ninja Mack. He said Mack goes to Japan in a few weeks (to Pro Wrestling NOAH) and will probably never look back but Janela will still be here.

Ninja Mack beat Joey Janela by referee stoppage with the Buzz Killer after a distraction from Sean Waltman. Janela will face Waltman at Joey Janela’s Spring Break.
