WWE “Road to WrestleMania” Tour Is Coming To Kitchener & Toronto
We are now less than thrwo weeks away from WrestleMania 38 weekend.
This year, “The Show of Shows” will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Apr. 2-3 weekend. WWE is billing WrestleMania 38 as “The Most Stupendous Two-Night Event In WrestleMania History.”
Until then, WWE continues to perform its “Road to WrestleMania” tour. And fans in Ontario will have not one, but two opportunities to see their favorite superstars in action before WrestleMania weekend. On Saturday, Mar. 26, WWE will be making a stop at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Ontario. A day later, the company will run a show at Toronto’s historic Coca-Cola Coliseum.
A triple threat bout between Belair, Lynch, and Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s Championship is being advertised for both shows in Ontario. The title most certainly won’t change hands during a house show, but Belair is actually a giant -550 favorite at Bet365 Ontario to defeat Lynch for the Raw Women’s title at WrestleMania 38.
The Miz and YouTube personality Logan Paul is -160 favorites to defeat Rey and Dominik Mysterio at The Showcase of Immortals. Sports betting was recently legalized in the province, and the Ontario Bet365 sportsbook could soon be up and running.
Bet365 would have several perks for new customers, including fast payouts, 24/7 customer service. The sportsbook would also offer special promos and bonuses to customers in Ontario if it launches in the province.
What To Expect At Road To WrestleMania In Ontario
For the Toronto show, Raw superstars such as Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, The Mysterios, The Miz The Street Profits, and Canada’s own Kevin Owens are being advertised.
As previously noted, a Raw Women’s Championship triple threat match is being advertised for both the Toronto and Kitchener shows. Toronto native Trish Stratus is also being advertised as a special guest host for both shows in Ontario.
The Kitchener event is also advertising Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest in a United States Championship match, and a Raw Tag Team Championships “#1 Contenders’ Match” between The Street Profits, Alpha Academy, Rollins, and Owens.
There may be a change to that last match, however. WWE recently announced that RK-Bro will defend the Raw Tag Team titles against The Street Profits and Alpha Academy in a triple threat bout at WrestleMania 38.
Owens will host ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin on day one of WrestleMania, and Rollins will presumably face the returning Cody Rhodes at The Show of Shows.
There is one interesting note on the Toronto show. Rollins, Riddle, and Lashley are being advertised for a triple threat WWE Championship match. But Brock Lesnar is the WWE titleholder, and he’s set to face Roman Reigns in a Winner Takes All showdown on day two of WrestleMania.
Lashley has been sidelined with a shoulder injury for a little over a month now. WWE will hopefully have him back for WrestleMania, but it’s unclear if he’ll actually be present at Sunday’s house show. That feels unlikely at this time.
The event also lists Rey and Dominik Mysterio, The Street Profits, The Miz, Balor, Priest, and Owens.
Simply put, virtually all of the big-named stars on Raw except for Lesnar (and presumably not Lashley) will appear at the Toronto event. Lesnar, of course, rarely performs at non-televised WWE events.
Regardless of which championship matches take place at the Kitchener and Toronto events, fans in attendance can’t expect any titles to change hands. WWE has its main matches for WrestleMania 38 locked in, and they’re not going to make drastic changes at non-televised shows.
The WrestleMania 38 Card
WWE has confirmed the following five matches for day one of WrestleMania 38: Belair vs. Lynch for the Raw Women’s title, Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, Happy Corbin vs. Drew McIntyre and Paul and Miz vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
Day two will consist of Lesnar vs. Reigns in the aforementioned Winner Takes All showdown, RK-Bro vs. Alpha Academy vs. Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team titles, Queen Zelina and Carmella vs. Natalya and Shayna Baszler vs. Naomi and Sasha Banks vs. Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley for the Women’s Tag Team Championships, Austin Theory vs. Pat McAfee, Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn and AJ Styles vs. Edge.
