OKADA VS. NAITO CLASSIC: NEW JAPAN ON AXS TV REPORT

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito

This bout is from the 2/20 New Years Golden Series from Sapporo, Japan.

Obviously, these two know each other very well, so they take their time feeling the other out and trying to gain the early advantage.  Naito finally scores with a big neckbreaker before controlling Okada on the mat but not being able to score a pinfall.

Okada fires back and nails a flapjack before drilling Naito with a DDT on the ring apron.  He hits a hanging DDT to the floor off the apron and worked over Naito.  Naito cut of Okada back inside the ring and nailed a series of elbow strikes and a DDT.  He got for Gloria but Okada drills him with a boot to the face.  Okada goes for a tombstone piledriver but that's evaded.  Okada drills Naito with a dropkick and several Money Clips.  He goes for the Rainmaker but Naito blocks it.

Naito goes for Destino but Okada avoids it and drills him with a clothesline.  He keeps going for the Rainmaker but Naito blocks and finally nails Destino coming out of an attempt, almost scoring the pin.  Naito nailed a Stardust Press for a close two count.  He goes for Destino but Okada avoids.  They go back and forth with big moves until finally Okada scores with the Rainmaker and gets the clean pinfall.

This was the best match that has aired on the  NJPW on AXS resurrected series thus far.  Well worth going out of your way to check out.
