Being the Elite Episode 298 - Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy is backstage and his music hits. He screams and runs up the stairs and out the ramp. Matt and Nick dance to his music.
Nick, Matt and Brandon talk about being on the road for 9 days. The longest they’ve been on since NJPW. They sign action figures and explain how if you buy them you’ll get a nice autograph you can read instead of the illegible signatures you’ll get if you meet them at the airport.
Adam Cole is talking to Cutler about his BTE championship responsibilities. Cutler informs Cole he has to defend against Jose The Assistant because Jose gave Cutler his first class seat for a title shot. Jose challenges Cole to a game of Blackjack. 2 out of 3.
First round. They both have 2’s showing. Jose hits and has 12 and he stays. Cole explains he doesn’t understand the rules but he’s a fighting champion, is willing to take a loss to learn the game and he stands. Cutler recommends he hits and after explaining how much the cards are worth Cole changes his mind and hits. He’s up to 5, hits again, gets an ace and stays. Cole wins 16-13. Cole wins round 2 19-18 and retains.
Leroy Patterson and Peter Avalon are still trying to cheer up Howdy Price. Peter gives him a drink of Kombucha. Howdy has a bottle of yellow liquid that is indeed pee that Avalon takes a sip of thinking it was lemonade. Howdy takes a drink and hallucinates. They show an animated ladder match where he gets his hat back by driving a car up a ladder and grabbing his hat. “Excalibur and JR” call the match. We go back and Howdy (without his hat) is rocking back and forth saying “I got my hat back”.
The Dark Order are counting how many hip thrusts John Silver is able to do. He hits 100. Johnny says he can’t believe he did it. They tell him to do 100 reverse thrusts and he said he can’t because he’s got to get his beard trimmed. Anna Jay is losing it and is corpsing the entire time. Alex Reynolds is sulking in the background. Uno gets a text from Hangman saying he can’t go out to eat with them. Colt asks if he’s really the Hangman if he can't be a “hangman”. These skits are always silly but endearing.
Blood Day with Ryan Nemeth. He’s getting blood work done and talking about his friends. It appears getting blood drawn freaks him out as he's sweating and they can’t get a band aid on him.
Leva Bates sneaks up on JD Drake. He’s still sore from getting beat up by Keith Lee and Leva keeps slapping him around. She’s looking for Peter Avalon but JD says he went home. She leaves. A guy in a suit walks up behind Drake, he slaps him on the back so Drake knocks him out.
Matt and Nick are putting over Matt and Jeff’s accomplishments and the camera pulls back to reveal Matt Lee and Jeff Parker. They’re flattered but Matt Jackson says we’re talking about the other Matt and Jeff. The Hardys come up behind 2point0 and Matt Hardy suggests they change their names. Jeff Parker says “we should have put our names on a pole match”.
Matt Jackson says now that Jeff is here they can put both of them in the ROH Hall of Fame. Jeff says “no thanks”. Matt Hardy informs the Bucks that they’re in AEW to cement their legacy as the greatest tag team of all time by winning the AEW tag titles even if that means they have to go through the Bucks of Youth to do so.
Show ends with a clip of Nick Jackson getting paid out in $100 bills at a casino.
