Wrestling Open Week 10

3/10/22 - Worcester, MA

Streaming on IWTV.live

We’re back in Worcester for Week 10 of Wrestling Open! We’re doing a new gimmick where if we break the attendance record, they will raffle off a $50 gas card at the end of the night! The crowd is looking as good as last week so let’s hope we get there! Tonight’s main event is a grudge rematch between Brick City Boyz and Waves & Curls that goes back to the Uncharted Territory Season 3 Discovery Gauntlet! But first, let’s see who is in the spotlight…

Spotlight Match: “The Finisher” Steve Peña vs “The Groundout Grappler” Weber Hatfield (w/ Shea McCoy)

These two were the standout participants from Biff Busick’s training seminar earlier in the day. Peña towers over the much smaller Hatfield but that doesn’t shake his confidence. Hatfield uses his quickness to outwork Peña early. Hatfield sends his opponent to the outside but he gets caught with a big boot and slam to the apron. Peña with some chops but Hatfield is fighting right back. Chop to the back and Weber is sent on the German express. Weber kicking out the legs but folded over with another back suplex. Weber chopping to freedoms! Dropkicks crumble Peña for a close two. Weber escapes a pop up powerbomb, he traps the arm and rolls the shoulders down for a three count!

Winner: Weber Hatfield

And we’re live on IWTV! Paul Crockett is at the commentary table. Rich Palladino is your announcer. I’m here at the world famous White Eagle! Let’s goooooo!

It’s debut time! JGeorge is out here in his director’s chair. He calls us extras in the greatest film of all time. His. He wants a big pop from us. Scene 1, clap the sticks, ACTION. BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Match 1: JGeorge vs “The Last Entertainer” Encore

Entertainment vs Hollywood? I suppose JGeorge is more indie than that. Action! JGeorge is more concerned with blocking the scene than wrestling, Encore cuts that off quick. It’s showtime! The Great Directator gets taken down repeatedly until he’s gets a shot in and forces Encore to show the camera his pain. Standing head and arm lock, JGeorge with a reverse muta lock. The crowd is firmly behind Encore as he battles out of the corner. JGeorge with a double chop sends the Entertainer back down for two.  Back elbows from Encore! Big back suplex drops JGeorge on his head. Encore tries the rock bottom but JGeorge rolls it up for two. Encore back to his feet. It’s SHOWTIME! Rock Bottom connects right into a side cradle for the win! JGeorge might be filming a trajesty.

Winner: Encore

Match 2: “Chocolate Thunder” Karen Bam Bam vs Davienne

Karen is billed as the “Conductor of the Squish a Bish Express”. XD Davienne is still collecting dollars from the crowd. What a gimmick! Davienne goes for a waist lock, Karen has too much power in those hips. Karen is throwing hands and taking Davi out at the legs. Davi tries fighting back but Karen with a flying heel kick! Karen No sells the chops and clubs Davienne down. Karen goes for a Banzai drop but Davienne brings her down with an electric chair. She puts on a Boston crab and Karen taps out!

Winner: Davienne

Match 3: Eric James vs Gal Barkay

James goes for the gut kick and head lock takedown. Gal has superior wrestling skills in the graps and has a counter for every overconfident reversal James throws at him. James gets the upper hand with clubbing blow, a choke in the corner and a backbreaker! Jumping elbow drops and boot washes. Gal firing back with quick pin attempts and a couple of backbreaker! James staggering to his feet to eat a flying forearm. Ripcord ddt almost ends it for the 90’s guy. Pele kick, cutter, PK into a Tiger bomb! Gal kicks out of the flurry! A frustrated James is grinding Gal’s face into the mat. “You can’t beat me, Gal” says James as he pulls him into a fireman’s carry and TKO’s him to the knee for the pin! Really good match between these two! Eric James is really starting to get under this crowd’s skin.

Winner: Eric James

Match 4: Nolo Kitano vs Ray Jaz

Well. Here we go. What’s our tip of the day, Raymond? We don’t miss him or his stupid tips. “Patience is a virtue”. I dunno. I could have waited a few more weeks for this clown to come back. ANYWAYS NOLO KITANO IS HERE AND WE LIKE HIM! Fast paced arm drags and a high angle dropkick puts Jaz on his back early. Unfortunately, Ray Jaz is a cheap shot artist and takes him out at the gut. Nolo dropped on his head and choked in the corner. Jaz controls the action, wrapping up the arms and tossing Nolo around the ring. Nolo finally fires back with a shotgun dropkick, double knees and a killer tornado ddt! Jaz kicks out! Nolo throwing kicks, Jaz catches it, drags Nolo to the mat to wrench the neck back and get the tap out. Really good match even if I hate the result. Someday my SLADE will come.

Winner: Ray Jaz

Match 5: Armani Kayos vs Love Doug

Cupid Douglas wants a test of love. Kayos doesn’t have love, he has that money. Doug is on fire from the bell, with his rope walk corner dodge, Kayos with a hair pull down and starts to confidently work him over. Kayos with a knee to the face and a tarantula variation! Neckbreaker for two! Doug comes running into a rear view! Kick out! Doug with a face full of flower petals! Love is firing up, flying forearm! Back drop out of the corner! Michanoku driver for two! Kayos with a curb stomp almost ends the night. Kayos tries another rear view, Doug ducks and rebounds off the ropes with a match ending Lariat of Love!

Winner: Love Doug

Douglas is sad that he let us down two weeks ago. He thought love would prevail. Eric James sings his way out of the entrance “nooooooooobody caaaaaares”. Eric James says that Doug need to bye bye bye his way out of the ring. The crowd disagrees. We love Doug. James calls Doug a bully for calling him a backstreet wannabe and leaves. If he wanted the ire of Worcester, going after Doug is certainly a good way to do it.

Steven Stetson is out. As you recall, he’s rich now. His family makes hats? Apparently Ryan Clancy hasn’t given up trying to be his tag team partner…or maybe Stetson couldn’t find someone else winning to take his money.

Match 6: Steven Stetson & Fancy Ryan Clancy vs The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black)

The crowd loves the Mane Event. Lyon tries to get in Stetson’s head with some cowboy dances. Stetson is clearly thrown off as Lyon whips and drags him around the ring. Clancy in but Mane Event double teams him, pop up splash for two. Leapfrog wheelbarrow splash for two! Clancy feigns injury and Stetson gets a cheap shot on Midas, allowing the Fancy Boys to take over. Stetson with a jumping seated senton to the back! Clancy with the work over but Midas escapes! Tag to Jay! Lyonsault! Kick out! Stetson with a rolling clothesline but misses Midas coming in with a cobra clutch slam! Clancy catches Midas and slams him down to get the three! Stetson celebrating hard like he won the match himself! Midas is furious at taking another L at Wrestling Open.

Winners: Stetson & Clancy

It’s World clASS time. You know the drill. Channing Thomas says he’s setting a new match time record tonight.

Match 7: Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) vs Johnny Rivera

They square off quick, Bakabella distracts Rivera. Dropkick to the back! Piledriver from Thomas seals the win in 23 seconds.

Winner: Channing Thomas

Thomas seals the win with another piledriver. Bakabella encourages him to go for another one but Teddy Goodz and Little Mean Kathleen hit the ring to run them off. The chaos gets so wild that Denver Colorado makes this a mixed tag match for this Sunday in Somerville, MA! Sidney Bakabella is furious and shoves DC. That goes poorly and Bakabella is shoved to the floor. “BUT I’M NOT A WRESTLER!!!” Ol’ Bucklebelts is gonna have a bad night in Somerville, I think

Members Only is out and says they arent bad guys, they aren’t sinners…they are holy now and bring out their tag team partner, BROTHER GREATNESS!!! We chant for Satan! He tries to read Bible stuff at us but we need to chant for Satan. He gets mad. We keep chanting for Satan. It’s really all you can do when presented with this.

Match 8: Members Only (Sammy Diaz and Elijah Six) & Brother Greatness vs Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King) & Ichiban

Ichiban has his opponents on the back pedal at the start but the numbers game is too much. Brother Greatness knocked off the apron but he hangs onto his pocket bible so I guess he’s okay. Big backbreaker to Ichiban from Diaz. Six with a shoulder breaker. Ichiban is kicking out at one so we’re okay for now. Brother Greatness calls on the power of the lord but Ichiban slams the bajeezus out of him. Waller in and running roughshod on Members Only. King with a dropkick sends Six out. Waller launched himself off Kylon with a destroyer. Brother Greatness tries to interfere but King sends him packing. Diaz and Six catches King with a roaring elbow slam combo. BG in to help but eats a boot from Ichiban. Ichiban and Diaz fall to the outside as BG is isolated by a miracle Generation. BG eats a handspring wheelbarrow cutter to end his night. Huge crowd reaction through this whole thing. We like Miracle Generation and we LOVE chanting for Satan.

Winners: Miracle Generation & Ichiban

Match 9: “The Big Boy from Brooklyn” Tyree Taylor vs Rex Lawless

Ahhhhhhh, I’m conflicted!!! If Tyree loses, he’s cut from Wrestling Open…but we don’t want Rex to go heel! He has a hell of a test in a hoss fight against Lawless though. These two big dudes lockup and power it around the corners. The crowd WANTS this for Tyree and Rex doesn’t know what to do. Test of strength, Tyree powers out. Rex tries a leaping head scissor, Tyree cartwheels free! Rex tries a monkey flip and Tyree lands on his feet! “YOU HAVE TO KILL ME!” screams Taylor! Trading big chops and forearms! They pick up the pace and spill out of the ring! Tyree with a loud double chop on the apron. Rex tries to run in as they get back in the ring but Tyree is ready with a one arm uranage for two! Rex with a pop up uppercut! Rex with a corner whip and big boot! Tyree trying a powerbomb, Rex out with a quick chokeslam for two! Rex is frustrated with his opponent. Huge big boot to Tyree’s chin. Tyree won’t stay down, he begs Rex for more! Lawless with a huge spear turns him inside out! Tyree wants more. Rex with a boot to the head and Taylor is still moving. Rex measures, he pulls Taylor up for the chokebomb…Taylor slaps the hands away, pushes Rex off and hits a huge lariat that starches Rex for the three count! Tyree Taylor gets to stay!!! Hell of a story. Hell of a match. This was great!

Winner: Tyree Taylor

Rich Palladino is here to interview Alec Price. He doesn’t have a match but he wants a mic. He’s back from his trip to the rings of the Southeast and he wants some of their gold. He challenges ANY champion from the South to come up here and face the Prize next week! Oh. My. As for us, he’s our Ace (self-proclaimed) and he’s gonna prove it and save us from fakers (he says) like Masha Slamovich, who he has a match with on Sunday. Price controls the crowd so very good. We love to hate this ding dong.

Main Event: Brick City Boyz (JCruz & Victor Chase) vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn)

Hot start for this Discovery Gauntlet rematch that’s been months in the making! Jordan gets Cruz stuck in a dance, Chase tries to interfere but Jordan hits a double head scissor to take control as Waves & Curls is running wild, since they are at 100% unlike their last tangle. Chase eats an atomic drop and lariat! Chase battling with Jordan at ringside! Jordan chops the post! Chase pops him up to an apron double stomp from Cruz! That was a cool spot. Jordan getting beat up in the corner, back elbow from Chase for two! Chase with a deep bow and arrow,   As Brick City keeps Jaelyn isolated in the corner. They think they have it sealed up but Jordan is resilient. Leg lariat to Cruz! Sidewalk slam to Chase! Jordan making the crawl! Jaelyn tags in and throwing hands to Cruz’s midsection! He’s the smallest man in the contest but these bricks can’t contain his fire right now! Suicide dive to Chase! Top rope crossbody to Cruz! Cruz kicks out! Cruz eats the buckles! Running knee to Chase, short flatliner on Cruz for two! Jordan in and hits a brutal flying kick. They almost hit a Wave Check on Cruz. He shoves Jordan into the ref, low blow to Jordan. Jaelyn tossed out as BCB hits the bricks on Traevon Jordan for the win!

Winners: Brick City Boyz

Jaelyn in to stop Cruz from continuing to attack Jordan but he eats a brain buster instead. Chase heads to the back to grab a chair. They wrap Jaelyn’s head in the chair and go for a stomp but Encore is out to run them off! Encore helps Waves & Curls back up for the crowd to appreciate them! Jordan thinks they have found a new friend…especially since they are looking for a partner for their trios match on Sunday against Trish Adora & Kings of the District!

DC is out. We broke the attendance record! Karen Bam Bam is picking the ticket and a guy named Tom wins. Tom is a little EXTRA in the ring so we boo him. Anyways, DC says they’re raffling off a $50 every week in the future when they break an attendance record…so let’s see how long we can keep this going! Next week, the number to beat is 152! With the increasingly good stories and in-ring work, it’s quickly becoming a THING to come out for. See you next Thursday! One last thing…
