3/10 NEW JAPAN CUP RESULTS FROM YAMANASHI, JAPAN

3/10/22 Results from Round 2 of the New Japan Cup 2022 from Yamanashi, Japan:

Chase Owens joins Kevin Kelly on English commentary.   Kevin ask Owens about the status of Bullet Club.  Owens downplays all the drama.

Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi and Tomoaki Honma vs. DOUKI, Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi

Taichi hits Honma with a elbow from a sumo stance and gets the pin.

During the match, DOUKI kicked ZSJ in the head by mistake.  Owens yelled at ZSJ that DOUKI kicked him on purpose.  ZSJ will meet DOUKI on Saturday in their Round 2 match.  ZSJ and DOUKI have words while Taichi tried to play peacemaker.   DOUKI tried to hit ZSJ with his metal pipe.  ZSJ got pissed and went after DOUKI.  DOUKI retreated to the locker room.  ZSJ chased him back to the locker, beating up young lions along the way.

Kevin Kelly asked Owens which side of Bullet Club he is on.   Owen’s said whichever side Fale is or goes.   Kevin said Fale is on Jay White’s side.  Owens said then he is on Jay’s side.   Owens also blamed Tama Tonga for all the drama in Bullet Club.

YOH, Hirooki Goto and Kazuchika Okada vs. SHO, Dick Togo and EVIL

Goto gets the win with an arm submission on Togo.

BUSHI, Shingo Takagi and SANADA vs. Great O-Khan, Will Ospreay and Aaron Henare 

Ospreay pins BUSHI after a Hidden Blade.

Anytime United Empire faces Los Ingobernales de Japon, it will be a fun match. Great action. 

Henare attacked SANADA after the match.  Both men will face each other this weekend in their Round 2 match.

New Japan Cup Matches:

YOSHI-HASHI vs. Kosei Fujita

YOSHI-HASHI gets the submission win with a Butterfly Lock.

YOSHI-HASHI advances to the Quarterfinals.

Tetsuya Naito vs. Gedo

Gedo uses all his tricks to attack the left knee of Naito.   Gedo goes for his brass knuckles.  Naito avoids his attack and rolls up Gedo for the pin.

Tetsuya Naito advances to the Quarterfinals.

Naito continues to attack Gedo after the match.  Owens leaves the commentary area to protect The Blacksmith of Bullet Club.  Owens and Gedo return to the locker room.

Satoshi Kojima vs. Jeff Cobb

Will Ospreay joins Cobb at ringside.   

Hard stiff match.   Lots of power spots and both men took a beating.

Cobb hits a Tour of the Islands and gets a pin.

Jeff Cobb moves into the Quarterfinals to face YOSHI-HASHI.

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Bad Luck Fale 

Owens comes to the ring with the Rogue General.   Tanahashi comes to the ring and his leg looks fine.

Tanahashi misses a High Fly Flow.  Tanahashi grabs his knee.  Fale goes for a Hand Grenade, but Tanahashi rolls up Fale into a Victory Roll.

Tanahashi pins Fale.

Hiroshi Tanahashi moves to the Quarterfinals to face Tetsuya Naito.

Tanahashi gives the fans an air guitar show to send them home happy.  Tanahashi still sold his knee during the guitar show.

Chase Owens was good on commentary and they continued the Bullet Club storyline.

Round 2 of the New Japan Cup 2022 continues on 3/12/22 and 3/13/22.
