TONY KHAN REVEALS NEW ROH BOOKER, CM PUNK ON WHAT IT'S MEANT TO RETURN TO WRESTLING & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2022-03-07 11:31:00

During last night's post-AEW Revolution scrum, Tony Khan stated that he would be booking Ring of Honor going forward when the promotion began running events again.  He stated that he didn't want to go into specifics on distribution or other aspects of plans for the company until the assets are transferred to his ownership.

CM Punk was very emotional at the scrum, stating that for seven years, he didn't have pro wrestling and to have had the ability to have it back the last six months was emotionally overwhelming, just from a position of creating again and not being told over and over that his ideas were terrible.  He noted that it wasn't about not doing whatever the f*** he wanted, but having the chance to figure out what the F*** worked.

Punk also stated that it was an emotional day for himself and that he was very happy ROH was going to Tony Khan.  He said it was going to either be owned by WWE or Khan and WWE already owned enough of his footage and he didn't want WWE to have it.  He said that Ring of Honor meant the world to him and he was happy to see the "baby" he loved would grow up with someone who would do right by it.  He said he didn't want ROH to end up on a crappy app that was hard to figure out where the wrestlers don't make any money from it.

Punk also said he was humbled by having a second chance at pro wrestling, but wishes he could give it up and give that to Bret Hart.  He commented "Bret is always right" and that he wishes Bret was the one going to Saudi Arabia getting paid millions of dollars instead of others.

Khan stated during the media scrum that Trent Beretta was injured during the recent Battle Royal on Dynamite.
