The return of beloved comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000 for a new 13th season will commence this Friday 5/6 with 1969's Santo In The Treasure Of Dracula.
The plot of the film - "After inventing a time machine, Mexican wrestler, El Santo, uses it to go back in time to track down the location of Dracula's hidden treasure. This is with the noble intention of using the treasure to help fund a children's hospital. In his quest to obtain the treasure, he is forced to face down and battle Dracula and his bevy of beautiful, vampire vixens."
MST3K, empowered by a crowd funding campage, will be launching their own distribution via www.gizmoplex.com this weekend, releasing a slew of new episodes.
The plot of the series remains the same - a hapless host and his loyal robots are trapped by evil scientists and forced to watch bad movies as part of an experiment to break humanity's will. They fight back with the only weapon in their arsenal - their ability to riff and mock what they are watching.
