MICKIE HAS A CHALLENGER, HONOR NO MORE WARS WITH IMPACT, BIG BRAWL HEADLINES & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-03-03 22:00:00

Impact Wrestling opened up with a review of everything related to Eddie Edwards heading into tonight's bout with Steve Maclin vs. Edwards.

It's the go home show for Sacrifice!

Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin

They brawled around on the floor.  It was noted everyone else involved from Team Impact and Honor No More were banned from ringside.  They battled into the ring and the bell officially rang.  Edwards was sent to the floor, where Maclin nailed a big torpedo dive to the outside.  Maclin brought him back into the ring, scoring a near fall.  He and Edwards battled back and forth with hard chops and went nose-to-nose.  They fired back and forth with big kicks.  Edwards nailed a Tiger Driver for a two count.  Maclin fired back but Edwards drilled him.  He argued with the fans saying this is what they wanted.   Edwards worked over Maclin in the corner with chops and this time, argued with the referee.  He continued wailing away with the chops but Maclin fired back.  They charge each other after rebounding off the ropes and crashed in the middle.  They fought back and forth until Maclin caught him with a uranage into an over the knee backbreaker.  Maclin nailed a lariat and went to the top, where Edwards drilled him with a dropkick.

Edwards was going to hit a rana from the top but got caught up arguing with the fans and was knocked backwards, tied to the tree of woe.  Macklin speared him.  Edwards went to the floor, where he slammed Edwards on the apron and then hit an elbow on the floor.

Edwards was tossed into the ring but rolled back outside.  Maclin followed and went to grab him but Edwards had snatched his Singapore Cane and drilled him.

Your winner by DQ, Steve Maclin!

Edwards began caning Maclin but Team Impact hit the ring and Edwards retreated for the locker room.  Honor No More came out on the stage as Edwards made it there.

Maria Kanellis took the mic and mocked Impact for being so angry.  They are mad they believed in the constructs of professional wrestling and believe in honor.  They think the only thing that matters is Impact Wrestling but they've been brainwashed.  Now that Eddie Edwards has come back to reality, it makes them change everything.

Heath Miller said that was delusional BS.  Vincent said he used to work for delusional people so he knows a thing of two about delusional.  Heath thinking he's going to become the Impact Champion this weekend is beyond delusional, it's insanity.  Heath challenged Vincent to come fight him.

When they returned from commercial, it was Heath Miller vs. Vincent.  Honor No More remained at ringside, as did Team Impact.

They locked up with Heath backing him into the corner and breaking clean.  Back and forth chants from the fans in New Orleans.   Vincent gained control but was quickly cut and drilled with a series of punches in the corner.

Miller smashed Vincent's face into the buckles over and over.   Vincent cut off Heath but was drilled with an inverted atomic drop and a kick to the back for a near fall.   Miller continued to work over Vincent until Taven tripped him, allowing Vincent to nail a swinging neckbreaker.  Vincent worked over Miller with right hands.  He continued to control Miller with a side suplex and then a Flatliner for a two count.

Miller reversed the flow of offense with a series of shoulderblocks in the corner but was snatched into a hanging guillotine choke.  Heath fought his way out and nailed a suplex but was too spent to immediately compensate.  Heath made a comeback, drilling Vincent with rights and lefts.  He caught Vincent with a big clothline but missed a Stinger splash into the corner.  Vincent nailed Redrum, his swanton, for a close two count.  Miller escaped a Side Russian Legsweep and hit the Wakeup Call for the pin.

Your winner, Heath Miller!

Honor No More attacked, but Team Impact jumped them and everyone brawled in and around the ring.  Moose hit the ring and went to attack Miller, who avoided it and Matt Taven was wiped out.  Miller drilled Moose and covered him with Rich Swann counting the unofficial three count.  The message was clear - Heath may have Moose's number this Saturday at the PPV.

Masha Slamovich vs. Raychell Rose

Masha and Rose locked up with Masha backing her into the corner.  She broke clean, then broke Rose down with some hard overhead chops.  Rose reversed a whip and nailed a knee in the corner but Masha absorbed and drilled her with a big running knee to the face.  She screamed at Rose in Russian and drilled him with a piledriver before nailing the Russian Death Device (aka the old Al Snow Snowplow) for the pin.

Your winner, Masha Slamovich!

Backstage, the Guerrilas of Destiny said business is always booming when they step in the building.  They sent Jay White a message, saying they brought White in, so this is personal.  He is a liar.  He's threatened by the G.O.D. so tonight he's going to take him out.  Violence by Design showed up and suggested a business arrangement so that VBD get what was promised to them - their Tag Team title shot.  They become business partners and take their pound of flesh tonight.  The G.O.D. agreed.

Mike Bailey was stretching last week.  Ace Austin and Madman Fulton showed up.  He liked how their tag match went last week on BTI and wants to take Bailey to the top as champions.  Bailey said that he agreed and said that while Fulton and Ace failed to win the titles,  they can do it.  Fulton was fuming but was stopped by Ace when he wanted to follow Bailey off screen and drill him.  Bailey is really grating as a babyface personality, so I can't blame Fulton!

Knockouts Tag Team Champion Cassie Lee with Jesse McKay vs. Madison Rayne with Tenille Dashwood

They battled back and forth.  Lee caught Rayne with several clotheslines and a kick to the face.  He worked over her back and tossed Rayne into the corner.   Rayne rolled to the outside, where Lee drilled her with a kick to the face.  Lee argued with Dashwood on the floor.  She tossed Rayne back in the ring but Dashwood attacked her and slammed her into the apron.  Jesse tried to clothesline Dashwood, who ducked and she ran into Kaleb's arms.  This distracted Rayne, whoi was drilled with a kick to the head and pinned,

Your winner, Cassie Lee!

They aired a video piece on Jake Something vs. Trey Miguel for the X-Division Championship at the Sacrifice PPV.

Mickie James joined the announcing team.

Tasha Steelz with Savannah Evans vs. Chelsea Green - winner faces Mickie James at Sacrifice.

They went back and forth with some nice action early.  Steelz worked over Green's back. Green came back with a sunset flip off the ropes for a two count but Steelz cut her off with a running back elbow for a near fall.

Steelz went right back after the back and peppered Green with right hands.  Green fired back and nailed a back elbow, then elevated Steelz over the top to the apron.  Steelz cut her off with a shoulderblock and drilled her with a running uppercut.  Green came back with a curb stomp into the buckles for a two count.  She nailed a Flapjack for another two count.  Steelz came back with a springboard bulldog for a two count.  Steelz faked out Green and Green crashed through the ropes to the floor, where Savannah Evans drilled her with a big boot.  Mickie went to help but stopped as Green had asked her to let her do it on her own.

Evans tossed Green back into the ring.  Steelz nailed the frog splash and scored the pin.

Your winner, Tasha Steelz!

It's Mickie vs. Tasha this Saturday.

Backstage, security asked Matt Cardona for a backstage pass.  He was infatuated with watching footage of his win over Jordynne Grace.  He was angry he wasn't getting the respect he felt he deserved as Digital Media Champion.

Jonah vs. Johnny Swinger

Swinger raked Jonah's face but was unable to get any other momentum.  Jonah slammed him and nailed a back senton splash.  Jonah went to the top and nailed a big splash.  Pinfall.

Your winner, Jonah!

He went to the top to do it again  but PCO came out and they went face to face and brawled.  Jonah nailed the top rope splash but when he went to leave the ring, PCO popped up unhurt and clotheslined him out of the ring to the floor.

Gia Miller interviewed Deonna Purrazzo.  There will be another Champ Champ Challenge this Saturday at Sacrifice.  Giselle Shaw came out but Lady Frost said they have unfinished business and it's her vs. Shaw this Saturday.

The Guerrilas of Destiny & Joe Doering & Deaner vs. Jay White & Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers & Chris Bey

Big brawl right out of the gate.  Security hit the ring to try and quell the uprising.  The bell hasn't even officially started the match.  Scott D'Amore said that there's obviously no way this match is going to take place as a regular wrestling match, so he made it a No DQ match, ordered security out of the ring and told Brian Hebner to ring the bell.

When they returned from commercial, Tama Tonga was being worked over by The Good Brothers but Tanga Loa hit the ring with a chair to help.  Lots of fighting out of the ring.

White tried to beat down Doering with chops and big uppercuts but wasn't able to take him down and finally Doering drilled him and smashed White to the floor.  The Good Brothers and The G.O.D. brawled to the back, leaving White with an enraged Doering.  Doering slammed him.  Deaner came off the top with a flying headbutt and went for a pin but Chris Bey broke it up.

Cameras showed The Good Brothers and The G.O.D.  brawled all over the back.    Doering pulled a door out from under the ring.  What was this door opening to?  Is this Monsters Inc.?  Doering missed a charge on Bey and drilled the door.  A ladder was brought into play during the G.O.D. vs. The Good Brothers.  White drilled Deaner with a Bladerunner into a chair and scored the pin.

Your winners. Bullet Club!

The brawl between the Guerrilas of Destiny and The Good Brothers continued until The Good Brothers decided discretion was the better part of valor and got the hell out of dodge.

That's it for this week!
