AEW RAMPAGE & DARK: ELEVATION SPOILERS FROM BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT

By Kendall Jenkins on 2022-03-01 10:03:00

AEW taped last week’s edition of Rampage and several bouts for the Dark: Elevation at the Dynamite show in Bridgeport on 23rd February. After Dynamite went off the air, Rampage was recorded and it featured a TNT championship matchup. The match qualifier for the fifth revolution ladder match was also recorded.

AEW Rampage Recap & Reactions

Airing on 25th February, the AEW Rampage featured Sammy Guevara going against Andre to defend the TNT championship title. According to Asian Vwin sportsbook, there was also a violent contract signing match for Dr. Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa as Orange Cassidy went against Anthony Bowen in the Face of Revolution qualifier.

TNT Championship: Guevara vs. Andrade

Andrade shoved the champion, but Sammy shot back with punches and a tackle. The two teased their finishers, only for Andrade to escape before they both posed on the ropes. Andrade then offers Sammy a handshake, but he responds with the middle finger.

The first big moment of the match came from the champion, with Andade running into a Spanish fly. Andrade then took charge of the match by pushing the champion off the ropes and colliding with the guardrail. The opponent then followed with a snap suplex.

After the break, Andrade kicked out from inside the cradle and he was fully in control until the champion countered a back suplex to hit a clothesline. He tried to call the GTH but failed to hit it before the challenger escaped.

Matt Hardy took off one of the turnbuckle pads as Andrade distracted the match referee and he attempted to hit a DDT while on top of the rope. However, Guevarra tipped him before hitting the exposed turnbuckle on his way down before going to the apron and hitting the springboard cutter to retain his title.

Wardlow vs. Nick Comoroto

Nick Comoroto threw Wardlow with his gutwrench suplex at the beginning of the match, but he kipped up and took control by giving Nick several throws. After the break, Comoroto whipped Wardlow at the corner and he pressed MJF’s bodyguard up. However, Wardlow managed to escape and slammed Comoroto with one arm.

Comoroto answered him with a powerbomb, but Wardlow managed to recover and hit it. Shawn Spears markets out while watching Wardlow unleashing his second powerbomb, before hitting a third to step on Comoroto’s chest and cover for the win.

Serena Deeb vs Kayla Sparks

As soon as Sarah entered the Ring, he took out Sparks with a clothesline. Deeb made her robe a weapon before she put Sparks on the rope and stretched her into an illegal submission. After punishing her, Sarah used the Serenity Lock to secure the win.

Orange Cassidy vs. Anthony Bowens

After a short contract signing, Cassidy and Bowen competed for a place to compete for the March 6th Face of the Revolution Ladder fight, as Thunder Rosa fought against Thunder Rosa. Cassidy managed to dodge an attack from Caster, hitting Bowens with a dropkick as the fight started.

Wheeler Yuta took off Caster from the right while Bowens and Cassidy took the fight off the ring. After the break, Bowens controlled this fight’s pace (for the most part) using quite a few power moves. However, Cassidy kept finding new ways to remain in the fight.

Cassidy dumped Bowens outside the ring using a back body drop, hitting the two members of The Acclaimed team with a crossbody slingshot. He then went on a roll and recorded several signature moves.

Danhausen appeared from the ringside to ensure Caster wasn’t attacking Cassidy and that allowed OC to hit the Orange Punch and win. The victory allowed him to book a spot on the Ladder match.

AEW Revolution (6th March 2022)

After airing the AEW Dark: Elevation, fans can look forward to AEW’s first major show in 2022, the Revolution. There are several blockbuster bouts saved for the Revolution, which will be happening on Sunday, 6th March 2022 from 8 pm EST.

The AEW championship fight will feature Hangman Page fighting against Adam Cole, which promises to offer an exciting action to watch. So far, Page’s title reign seems wanting, but AEW isn’t the kind of company to throw in the towel on a fighter they’ve invested so much in.

The AEW Dog Collar Match will feature CM Punk and MJF, as Britt Baker fights Thunder Rosa for the women’s championship title. Other fights for the night will include John Moxley fighting Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho against Eddie Kingston, and AHFO vs Darby Allin, Sting, and Sammy Guevarra.
