UFC LEGACIES: DONALD "COWBOY" CERRONE

By Kendall Jenkins on 2022-03-01 10:59:00

The Legacy Of A Cowboy.

The UFC is a great sport, and it really pushes competitors to their limits.  If you are a part of the betting crowd, You should your UFC Fight Odds for the best action!

For some fans, there has been concern about whether Donald Cerrone will leave the sport soon, however, after how things went for him in 2021 he is set to return. As, in true cowboy fashion, he simply couldn’t let this career end that way!

Inside the octagon, the scrappy style he has made him endeared, making him a ‘ must-see’ for any fighting fans.

He provides endless excitement, and has a ‘live life to the fullest’ approach and manner which has made him become almost an enigma to people.

He hits everything head on with all he has, as that is simply who he is and how he rolls. This mentality of his has made him one of the most popular fighters on any UFC roster. He is also ready and willing to scrap whenever he needs to, which has kept him as one of the UFC’s busiest fighters too.

He came over with the UFC/ WEC merger back in 2011, and has competed on more than a dozen occasions.

He managed to kick off his inaugural year in the UFC by collecting five fights in 2011 alone. This is a totally unheard of achievement in the modern world of MMA fighting. What’s mad is he would happily have done another fight if the schedule had been right for him to do so.

He is always ready to go. Sure, he has not been able to grab that level of frequency of late, however, he is still topping the activity boards since his debut.

Set To Return.

He was devastated by his latest losses, but he won’t be going anywhere. The Cowboy rode into the Octagon with a reputation and many wins and he sure as hell will be leaving the same way. We don’t doubt it.

However, it is looking like he will be facing up against Paddy Pimblett soon. A fight many are dubbing as ‘The old dog against the shiny new trinket’. Sure, Paddy might be a rising star in the UFC, but the Cowboy is sure to head the way.

Paddy made an epic debut, making a first-round KO victory. So, fans of Paddy Pimblett are eager to see who he will be facing, but many have been shouting the Cowboy’s name.

It would seem that even ‘Cowboy’ thinks that Pimblett will be his next match.

Of course, this would be the type of fight fans want, the old guy against the shiny new guy. However, there is the issue that Cerrone has been fighting at welterweight lately, and Pimblett is fighting at lightweight.

Cerrone is desperate for a win, having not had his hand raised since ‘19. So, he does hope to have a win if he faces Pimblett. Of course, if he does, this could really boost his career legacy even higher.

However, if Pimblett beats the Cowboy, he would also gain an accent in his division.

That is not to say that this could be a make-or-break fight for Cerrone. Cerrone’s legacy as a fighter is already hardcore hot, and his reputation already has his name up in lights, but it might say that he is slowing.

Hitting Everything Head-on.

Nonetheless, we don’t want to, or don’t think we will see more losses for Cerrone, not excessively. He’s always been hitting things hard and head-on. It's only how he knows to run things.

Cerrone has never had the worry many fighters have when it comes to fights canceled due to injuries. It has never been an issue for him. He’s always been trading punches and kicks and has never pulled out. So, no matter what happens, it is this that makes his legacy,  exactly what it is.
