It is Friday, and it’s time for AEW Rampage, taped after Wednesday’s Dynamite at the Webster’s Bank Arena in Bridgeport CT. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Jericho.
Sammy Guevara (TNT Champion) vs Andrade El Idolo
No entrances as we jump right into the match. Andrade starts by pushing Sammy, who hits a double leg take down. They then trade blows in the middle of the ring. Andrade tried for the El Idolo and Sammy tried for the GTH. They separate and Andrade extends his hand and Sammy goes to shake and instead flips him off. They run the ropes and Andrade ends it with a black blow. Sammy hits a drop kick and then clotheslines Andrade out of the ring.
Sammy goes to leap out of the ring, and Andrade comes into the ring to stop him. Sammy turns it into a Spanish Fly for a one count. They move to the corner and fight on the top turnbuckle. Sammy kicks him and tries for the double springboard, but Andrade knocks him off the ropes and into the barricade as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Sammy escapes a back suplex and follows up with a clothesline and goes for the GTH, and Andrade escapes. Andrade gets knocked out of the ring and Sammy hits a tornado topi. He tosses Andrade into the ring and he goes for the 450. Andrade gets out of the way and hits a running boot on Sammy. He follows with a running DDT on the apron. Andrade goes to the top and gets rocked by a kick from Sammy. They go to the top and Sammy hits the Spanish Fly from the top.
Sammy gets a two count as it takes too long to make the cover. They start slapping and then throw hands on their knees until they both drop. The ref starts the count and Andrade is up at 7. He takes the turnbuckle pad off, and Matt Hardy finishes the job. Andrade hits a hip toss on Sammy into the corner. Andrade runs in for the knee strike, but Sammy gets out of the way and gets Andrade up for the GTH. Andrade rolls Sammy up with feet in the ropes for a two count.
Matt Hardy pushed Andrade’s foot off the ropes as we go to picture in picture again.
When we return to full screen, we see Andrade hit the exposed turnbuckle after Sammy swept his leg from the top. Sammy hits a cutter and covers for the three count and the win.

Matt Hardy attacks Sammy after the match, and Darby and Sting come to the rescue/. Isiah Kassidy in in the ring, and Sting drops him. Darby follows with a coffin drop.
QT Marshal comes out and says he is sick of the disrespect from everyone. He says it all stems from Taz. He says that he tried to teach Hook respect. All of Hook’s success is because of him and he tells Hook to come out and shake his hand or he will stretch him in the ring.
QT sends three trainees to attack Hook and he drops them without breaking a sweat. Hook walks off and QT is left fuming on the ramp.
The Men of the Year are with Dan Lambert who says he took one for the team and met with Tony Khan demanding a title shot. Instead, they were given a Face of the Revolution qualifying match. But, he says he will get a TNT title match before the ladder match.
Wardlow vs Nick Comorado
They also are in the ring when we come back from the backstage segment. They hook up and Comorado is able to hit a gut wrench on Wardlow. Wardlow then hits Comorado with suplexes. Comorado leaps onto Wardlow in the corner, but Wardlow catches him and suplexes him out of the ring. They go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, the two hosses are throwing hand in the middle of the ring. Wardlow goes to the top and Comorado grabs him one handed. Wardlow escapes and hits a choke slam. Wardlow calls for the power bomb, and Comorado reverses it. Wardlow reverses it and gets the first power bomb. Comorado takes four power bombs in all before Wardlow puts a foot on his chest and the ref counts three.

Aaron Solow jumps on Wardlow, and Shawn Spears nails Solow with a chair. Wardlow looks pissed and Spears says the power bomb thing isn’t getting over. The crowd is calling for the power bomb. Spears says they need to go back to the basics and just go for the pin. He then says Wardlow has so much potential and he and Max are proud of him, and hugs Wardlow.
Comorado got in a lot more offense than anyone else has on this run, and looked strong during the picture in picture. Nice job of giving Wardlow tougher opponents to show him climbing the ladder.
We then get a video hyping Double or Nothing in Vegas 5/29.
Serena Deeb vs Kayla Sparks in the 5 minute challenge
AGAIN they are in the ring as we come back from the video.
Deeb just takes Sparks apart with strikes for the first minute. She then locks in a pair stretch on the top turn buckle. Deeb then works her arm and puts on the Serenity Lock for a win at 2:30.

We come back from commercial for the contract signing between AEW?Women’s champion Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa. Baker has Rebel and Hayter behind her. Rosa says it’s time for a better champion, and caller her a vulgar name in Spanish. Baker then says the only time Rosa is relevant is when people are talking about Baker. She says that while Rosa won the lights out match, but everyone was talking about her. She says even if Rosa wins, she will never be the star that she is.
Rosa leaps over the table and attacks Baker, and Hayter and Rosa attacks each other. Mercedes Martinez comes to the ring and attacks Hater. She then puts Hayter through the table and Rosa is holding the women’s title belt.
Orange Cassidy and Anthony Bowens have the split screen interview. Mark Henry lets us know it’s time for the main event and Excalibur yells the line up for next weeks’ Dynamite and the Revolution PPV.

These guys get their entrances. Max Caster challenges Cassidy to say something and tosses the mic at him. Cassidy bends down and picks it up. He says “Yo, here, listen” with no enthusiasm. Puts a hand in a pocket and gives the soft kicks to Caster. When he goes back, Caster tries to rush him, Cassidy dodges, and Wheeler Yuta pulls Caster out of the ring to brawl on the floor.
Cassidy drops Bowens with a drop kick, and as Bowens rolls out of the ring, Cassidy says, nonchalantly, “Word to your mother.”
Cassidy hits Bowens with a topi and Caster drops Yuta with a chain. Bowens lifts Cassidy in the air and drops him on the apron. He rolls Cassidy into the ring and gets a two count as we go picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Bowens has bee dominating Cassidy on the small screen, and Bowens tosses him into the corner. Bowens taunts Cassidy and when Bowens does to “A” sign, Cassidy completes it with the scissor that Bowens and Caster do. Bowens tosses Cassidy to the corner, who goes up and over and then Cassidy drags Bowens into the corner, hits a cross body Cassidy goes to the ropes and Caster grabs his foot. He shakes it off and goes for another cross body. Bowens catches and tosses him to the mat.
Cassidy hits a stun dog millionaire and when Cassidy runs toward him, Bowens catches him, spins him and drops him to the mat for a two count. Both men struggle to get up. Bowens comes off the ropes and Cassidy hits a Michinoku driver and a two count. Cassidy goes after Caster, and Bowens is able to pop him when he’s not looking and they fight in the ropes.
Both men sag from exhaustion and Bowens goes to attack Cassidy. Cassidy dumps him over the top and leaps onto Bowens and Caster on the floor. Cassidy hits a pair of diving DDT and covers for a two count. The boom box with a chain around it is tosses into the ring, and as the fer is getting rid of it, Caster gets on the apron, and Cassidy swing at him. Bowens takes advantage for a roll up, a handful of trunks, and a two count.
Bowens then hits a clothesline that turns Cassidy inside out, ad body slam and a two count. Cassidy rolls out of the ring in front of Caster, who has a chain, and Danhausen, who was dressed as ring crew stops Caster and curses him. Cassidy hits the Orange Punch on Max Caster. Cassidy comes into the ring and hits the Orange Punch on Bowens and covers for the three count.
